  • In manufacturing sites, bearing fault in eletrically driven motors cause the entire system to shut down. Stopping the operation of this environment causes huge losses in time and money. The reason of this bearing defects can be various factors such as wear due to continuous contact of rotating elements, excessive load addition, and operating environment. In this paper, a motor driving environment is created which is similar to the domestic manufacturing sites. In addition, based on the established environment, we propose a dataset for bearing fault detection by collecting changes in vibration characteristics that vary depending on normal and defective conditions. The sensor used to collect the vibration characteristics is Microphone G.R.A.S. 40PH-10. We used various machine learning models to build a prototype bearing fault detection system trained on the proposed dataset. As the result, based on the deep neural network model, it shows high accuracy performance of 92.3% in the time domain and 98.3% in the frequency domain.

  • As individual and group users actively use drones, the risks (Intrusion, Information leakage, and Sircraft crashes and so on) in no-fly zones are also increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to build a system that can detect drones intruding into the no-fly zone. General acoustic drone detection researches do not derive location-independent performance by directly learning drone sound including environmental noise in a deep learning model to overcome environmental noise. In this paper, we propose a drone detection system that collects sounds including environmental noise, and detects drones by removing noise from target sound. After removing environmental noise from the collected sound, the proposed system predicts the drone sound using Mel spectrogram and CNN deep learning. As a result, It is confirmed that the drone detection performance, which was weak due to unstudied environmental noises, can be improved by more than 7%.

  • With the explosive growth of social media, its abundant text-based data generated by web users has become an important source for data analysis. For example, we often witness online movie reviews from the 'Naver Movie' affecting the general public to decide whether they should watch the movie or not. This study has conducted analysis on the Naver Movie's text-based review data to predict the actual ratings. After examining the distribution of movie ratings, we performed semantics analysis using Korean Natural Language Processing. This research sought to find the best review rating prediction model by comparing machine learning and deep learning models. We also compared various regression and classification models in 2-class and multi-class cases. Lastly we explained the causes of review misclassification related to movie review data characteristics.

  • Since human joints can be used as useful information for analyzing human behavior as a component of the human body, many studies have been conducted on human action recognition using joint information. However, it is a very complex problem to recognize human action that changes every moment using only each independent joint information. Therefore, an additional information extraction method to be used for learning and an algorithm that considers the current state based on the past state are needed. In this paper, we propose a human action recognition technique considering the positional relationship of connected joints and the change of the position of each joint over time. Using the pre-trained joint extraction model, position information of each joint is obtained, and bone information is extracted using the difference vector between the connected joints. In addition, a simplified neural network is constructed according to the two types of inputs, and spatio-temporal features are extracted by adding LSTM. As a result of the experiment using a dataset consisting of 9 behaviors, it was confirmed that when the action recognition accuracy was measured considering the temporal and spatial relationship features of each joint, it showed superior performance compared to the result using only single joint information.

  • This paper presents an implementation of detecting whether a helmet is worn and there is a fall accident through individual image analysis in real-time from extracting the image objects of several workers active in the industrial field. In order to detect image objects of workers, YOLO, a deep learning-based computer vision model, was used, and for whether a helmet is worn or not, the extracted images with 5,000 different helmet learning data images were applied. For whether a fall accident occurred, the position of the head was checked using the Pose real-time body tracking algorithm of Mediapipe, and the movement speed was calculated to determine whether the person fell. In addition, to give reliability to the result of a falling accident, a method to infer the posture of an object by obtaining the size of YOLO's bounding box was proposed and implemented. Finally, Telegram API Bot and Firebase DB server were implemented for notification service to administrators.

  • There are various machine learning techniques such as Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Neural Network Learning, and so on. In recent, Large Language Models (LLMs) are popularly used for Generative AI based on Reinforcement Learning. It makes decisions with the most optimal rewards through the fine tuning process in a particular situation. Unfortunately, LLMs can not provide any explanation for how they reach the goal because the training is based on learning of black-box AI. Reinforcement Learning as black-box AI is based on graph-evolving structure for deriving enhanced solution through adjustment by human feedback or reinforced data. In this research, for mutually exclusive decision-making, Mutually Exclusive Learning (MEL) is proposed to provide explanations of the chosen goals that are achieved by a decision on both ends with specified conditions. In MEL, decision-making process is based on the tree-based structure that can provide processes of pruning branches that are used as explanations of how to achieve the goals. The goal can be reached by trade-off among mutually exclusive alternatives according to the specific contextual conditions. Therefore, the tree-based structure is adopted to provide feasible solutions with the explanations based on the pruning branches. The sequence of pruning processes can be used to provide the explanations of the inferences and ways to reach the goals, as Explainable AI (XAI). The learning process is based on the pruning branches according to the multi-dimensional contextual conditions. To deep-dive the search, they are composed of time window to determine the temporal perspective, depth of phases for lookahead and decision criteria to prune branches. The goal depends on the policy of the pruning branches, which can be dynamically changed by configured situation with the specific multi-dimensional contextual conditions at a particular moment. The explanation is represented by the chosen episode among the decision alternatives according to configured situations. In this research, MEL adopts the tree-based learning model to provide explanation for the goal derived with specific conditions. Therefore, as an example of mutually exclusive problems, employment process is proposed to demonstrate the decision-making process of how to reach the goal and explanation by the pruning branches. Finally, further study is discussed to verify the effectiveness of MEL with experiments.

  • Autoregressive Text-to-Speech (TTS) models suffer from inference instability and slow inference speed. Inference instability occurs when a poorly predicted sample at time step t affects all the subsequent predictions. Slow inference speed arises from a model structure that forces the predicted samples from time steps 1 to t-1 to predict the sample at time step t. In this study, an end-to-end non-autoregressive fast text-to-speech model is suggested as a solution to these problems. The results of this study show that this model's Mean Opinion Score (MOS) is close to that of Tacotron 2 - WaveNet, while this model's inference speed and stability are higher than those of Tacotron 2 - WaveNet. Further, this study aims to offer insight into the improvement of non-autoregressive models.

  • Human heart rate can be used to measure exercise intensity as an important indicator. If heart rate can be predicted, exercise can be performed more efficiently by regulating the intensity of exercise in advance. In this paper, a FitRec-based prediction model is proposed for estimating running heart rate for users. Endomondo data is utilized for training the proposed prediction model. The processing algorithms for time-series data, such as LSTM(long short term memory) and GRU(gated recurrent unit), are employed to compare their performance. On the basis of simulation results, it was demonstrated that the proposed model trained with running exercise performed better than the model trained with several cardiac exercises.

  • Terpenoids, also referred to as terpenes, are a large family of naturally occurring chemical compounds present in the essential oils extracted from medicinal plants. In this study, a nondestructive methodology was created by combining ATR-FT-IR (attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared), and Raman spectroscopy for the terpenoids assessment in medicinal plants essential oils from ten different geographical locations. Partial least squares regression (PLSR) and support vector regression (SVR) were used as machine learning methodologies. However, a deep learning based model called as one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D CNN) were also developed for models comparison. With a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.999 and a lowest RMSEP (root mean squared error of prediction) of 0.006% for the prediction datasets, the SVR model created for FT-IR spectral data outperformed both the PLSR and 1 D CNN models. On the other hand, for the classification of essential oils derived from plants collected from various geographical regions, the created SVM (support vector machine) classification model for Raman spectroscopic data obtained an overall classification accuracy of 0.997% which was superior than the FT-IR (0.986%) data. Based on the results we propose that FT-IR spectroscopy, when coupled with the SVR model, has a significant potential for the non-destructive identification of terpenoids in essential oils compared with destructive chemical analysis methods.
