The major educational goal of reading part, which occupies important portion in Korean language in Korean SAT, is to evaluated whether a given text can be fully understood. Therefore given questions in the exam must be able to solely solvable by given text. In this paper we developed a datatset based on Korean SAT's reading part in order to evaluate whether a deep learning language model can classify if the given question is true or false, which is a binary classification task in NLP. In result, by applying language model solely according to the passages in the dataset, we were able to acquire better performance than 59.2% in F1 score for human performance in most of language models, that KoELECTRA scored 62.49% in our experiment. Also we proved that structural limit of language models can be eased by adjusting data preprocess.

Gas leak detection system is a key to minimize the loss of life due to the explosiveness and toxicity of gas. Most of the leak detection systems detect by gas sensors or thermal imaging cameras. To improve the performance of gas leak detection system using single-modal methods, the paper propose multimodal approach to gas sensor data and thermal camera data in developing a gas type identification model. MultimodalGasData, a multimodal open-dataset, is used to compare the performance of the four models developed through multimodal approach to gas sensors and thermal cameras with existing models. As a result, 1D CNN and GasNet models show the highest performance of 96.3% and 96.4%. The performance of the combined early fusion model of 1D CNN and GasNet reached 99.3%, 3.3% higher than the existing model. We hoped that further damage caused by gas leaks can be minimized through the gas leak detection system proposed in the study.

Coastal debris presents a significant environmental threat globally. This research sought to improve the monitoring methods for coastal debris by employing deep learning and remote sensing technologies. To achieve this, an object detection approach utilizing the You Only Look Once (YOLO)v8 model was implemented to develop a comprehensive image dataset for 11 primary types of coastal debris in our country, proposing a protocol for the real-time detection and analysis of debris. Drone imagery was collected over Sinja Island, situated at the estuary of the Nakdong River, and analyzed using our custom YOLOv8-based analysis program to identify type-specific hotspots of coastal debris. The deployment of these mapping and analysis methodologies is anticipated to be effectively utilized in managing coastal debris.

Video frame interpolation is an important technique used in the field of video and media, as it increases the continuity of motion and enables smooth playback of videos. In the study of video frame interpolation using deep learning, Kernel Based Method captures local changes well, but has limitations in handling global changes. In this paper, we propose a new U-Net structure that applies feature map differentiation and two directions to focus on capturing major changes to generate intermediate frames more accurately while reducing the number of parameters. Experimental results show that the proposed structure outperforms the existing model by up to 0.3 in PSNR with about 61% fewer parameters on common datasets such as Vimeo, Middle-burry, and a new YouTube dataset. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, congestion within container terminals has led to a significant increase in waiting time and turnaround time for external trucks, resulting in a severe inefficiency in gate-in and gate-out operations. In response, port authorities have implemented a Vehicle Booking System (VBS) for external trucks. It is currently in a pilot operation. However, due to issues such as information sharing among stakeholders and lukewarm participation from container transport entities, its improvement effects are not pronounced. Therefore, this study proposed a deep learning-based predictive model for external trucks turnaround time as a foundational dataset for addressing problems of waiting time for external trucks' turnaround time. We experimented with the presented predictive model using actual operational data from a container terminal, verifying its predictive accuracy by comparing it with real data. Results confirmed that the proposed predictive model exhibited a high level of accuracy in its predictions.
Objective: To evaluate the accuracy and clinical efficacy of a hybrid Greulich-Pyle (GP) and modified Tanner-Whitehouse (TW) artificial intelligence (AI) model for bone age assessment. Materials and Methods: A deep learning-based model was trained on an open dataset of multiple ethnicities. A total of 102 hand radiographs (51 male and 51 female; mean age ± standard deviation = 10.95 ± 2.37 years) from a single institution were selected for external validation. Three human experts performed bone age assessments based on the GP atlas to develop a reference standard. Two study radiologists performed bone age assessments with and without AI model assistance in two separate sessions, for which the reading time was recorded. The performance of the AI software was assessed by comparing the mean absolute difference between the AI-calculated bone age and the reference standard. The reading time was compared between reading with and without AI using a paired t test. Furthermore, the reliability between the two study radiologists' bone age assessments was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs), and the results were compared between reading with and without AI. Results: The bone ages assessed by the experts and the AI model were not significantly different (11.39 ± 2.74 years and 11.35 ± 2.76 years, respectively, p = 0.31). The mean absolute difference was 0.39 years (95% confidence interval, 0.33-0.45 years) between the automated AI assessment and the reference standard. The mean reading time of the two study radiologists was reduced from 54.29 to 35.37 seconds with AI model assistance (p < 0.001). The ICC of the two study radiologists slightly increased with AI model assistance (from 0.945 to 0.990). Conclusion: The proposed AI model was accurate for assessing bone age. Furthermore, this model appeared to enhance the clinical efficacy by reducing the reading time and improving the inter-observer reliability.
Social-aware video displays not only the relationships between characters but also diverse information on topics such as economics, politics and culture as a story unfolds. Particularly, the speaking habits and behavioral patterns of people in different situations are very important for the analysis of social relationships. However, when dealing with this dynamic multi-modal data, it is difficult for a computer to analyze the drama data effectively. To solve this problem, previous studies employed the deep concept hierarchy (DCH) model to automatically construct and analyze social networks in a TV drama. Nevertheless, since location knowledge was not included, they can only analyze the social network as a whole in stories. In this research, we include location knowledge and analyze the social relations in different locations. We adopt data from approximately 4400 minutes of a TV drama Friends as our dataset. We process face recognition on the characters by using a convolutional- recursive neural networks model and utilize a bag of features model to classify scenes. Then, in different scenes, we establish the social network between the characters by using a deep concept hierarchy model and analyze the change in the social network while the stories unfold.

The degradation of coastal ecosystems and fishery environments is accelerating due to the recent phenomenon of invertebrate grazers. To effectively monitor and implement preventive measures for this phenomenon, the adoption of remote sensing-based monitoring technology for extensive maritime areas is imperative. In this study, we compared and analyzed the robustness of deep learning-based object detection modelsfor detecting and monitoring invertebrate grazersfrom underwater videos. We constructed an image dataset targeting seven representative species of invertebrate grazers in the coastal waters of South Korea and trained deep learning-based object detection models, You Only Look Once (YOLO)v7 and YOLOv8, using this dataset. We evaluated the detection performance and speed of a total of six YOLO models (YOLOv7, YOLOv7x, YOLOv8s, YOLOv8m, YOLOv8l, YOLOv8x) and conducted robustness evaluations considering various image distortions that may occur during underwater filming. The evaluation results showed that the YOLOv8 models demonstrated higher detection speed (approximately 71 to 141 FPS [frame per second]) compared to the number of parameters. In terms of detection performance, the YOLOv8 models (mean average precision [mAP] 0.848 to 0.882) exhibited better performance than the YOLOv7 models (mAP 0.847 to 0.850). Regarding model robustness, it was observed that the YOLOv7 models were more robust to shape distortions, while the YOLOv8 models were relatively more robust to color distortions. Therefore, considering that shape distortions occur less frequently in underwater video recordings while color distortions are more frequent in coastal areas, it can be concluded that utilizing YOLOv8 models is a valid choice for invertebrate grazer detection and monitoring in coastal waters.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a deep learning-based personal protective equipment detection model for disaster prevention at construction sites, and to apply it to actual construction sites and to analyze the results. Method: In the method of conducting this study, the dataset on the real environment was constructed and the developed personal protective equipment(PPE) detection model was applied. The PPE detection model mainly consists of worker detection and PPE classification model. The worker detection model uses a deep learning-based algorithm to build a dataset obtained from the actual field to learn and detect workers, and the PPE classification model applies the PPE detection algorithm learned from the worker detection area extracted from the work detection model. For verification of the proposed model, experimental results were derived from data obtained from three construction sites. Results: The application of the PPE recognition model to construction site brings up the problems related to mis-recognition and non-recognition. Conclusions: The analysis outcomes were produced to apply the object recognition technology to a construction site, and the need for follow-up research was suggested through representative cases of worker recognition and non-recognition, and mis-recognition of personal protective equipment.
Purpose To construct a standard dataset of contrast-enhanced CT images of liver tumors to test the performance and safety of artificial intelligence (AI)-based algorithms for clinical decision support systems (CDSSs). Materials and Methods A consensus group of medical experts in gastrointestinal radiology from four national tertiary institutions discussed the conditions to be included in a standard dataset. Seventy-five cases of hepatocellular carcinoma, 75 cases of metastasis, and 30-50 cases of benign lesions were retrieved from each institution, and the final dataset consisted of 300 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma, 300 cases of metastasis, and 183 cases of benign lesions. Only pathologically confirmed cases of hepatocellular carcinomas and metastases were enrolled. The medical experts retrieved the medical records of the patients and manually labeled the CT images. The CT images were saved as Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) files. Results The medical experts in gastrointestinal radiology constructed the standard dataset of contrast-enhanced CT images for 783 cases of liver tumors. The performance and safety of the AI algorithm can be evaluated by calculating the sensitivity and specificity for detecting and characterizing the lesions. Conclusion The constructed standard dataset can be utilized for evaluating the machine-learning-based AI algorithm for CDSS.
