Worldwide, the number of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) confirmed cases is rapidly increasing. Although vaccines and treatments for COVID-19 are being developed, the disease is unlikely to disappear completely. By attaching a smart sensor to the respirator worn by medical staff, Internet of Things (IoT) technology and artificial intelligence (AI) technology can be used to automatically detect the medical staff's infection symptoms. In the case of medical staff showing symptoms of the disease, appropriate medical treatment can be provided to protect the staff from the greater risk. In this study, we design and develop a system that detects cough, a typical symptom of respiratory infectious diseases, by applying IoT technology and artificial technology to respiratory protection. Because the cough sound is distorted within the respirator, it is difficult to guarantee accuracy in the AI model learned from the general cough sound. Therefore, coughing and non-coughing sounds were recorded using a sensor attached to a respirator, and AI models were trained and performance evaluated with this data. Mel-spectrogram conversion method was used to efficiently classify sound data, and the developed cough recognition system had a sensitivity of 95.12% and a specificity of 100%, and an overall accuracy of 97.94%.

Accurate prediction of wind speed and power is vital for enhancing the efficiency of wind energy systems. Numerous solutions have been implemented to date, demonstrating their potential to improve forecasting. Among these, deep learning is perceived as a revolutionary approach in the field. However, despite their effectiveness, the noise present in the collected data remains a significant challenge. This noise has the potential to diminish the performance of these algorithms, leading to inaccurate predictions. In response to this, this study explores a novel feature engineering approach. This approach involves altering the data input shape in both Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-LSTM) and Autoregressive models for various forecasting horizons. The results reveal substantial enhancements in model resilience against noise resulting from step increases in data. The approach could achieve an impressive 83% accuracy in predicting unseen data up to the 24th steps. Furthermore, this method consistently provides high accuracy for short, mid, and long-term forecasts, outperforming the performance of individual models. These findings pave the way for further research on noise reduction strategies at different forecasting horizons through shape-wise feature engineering.

This paper improves the possibility of recognizing fast-moving objects through the YOLO (You Only Look Once) deep learning recognition model in an application environment for object recognition in images. The purpose was to study the method of collecting semantic data through processing. In the recognition model, the moving object recognition error was identified as unrecognized because of the difference between the frame rate of the camera and the moving speed of the object and a misrecognition due to the existence of a similar object in an environment adjacent to the object. To minimize the recognition errors by compensating for errors, such as unrecognized and misrecognized objects through the proposed data collection method, and applying vision processing technology for the causes of errors that may occur in images acquired for sports (tennis games) that can represent real similar environments. The effectiveness of effective secondary data collection was improved by research on methods and processing structures. Therefore, by applying the data collection method proposed in this study, ordinary people can collect and manage data to improve their health and athletic performance in the sports and health industry through the simple shooting of a smart-phone camera.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess whether a deep learning (DL) algorithm could enable simultaneous noise reduction and edge sharpening in low-dose lumbar spine CT. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 52 patients (26 male and 26 female; median age, 60.5 years) who had undergone CT-guided lumbar bone biopsy between October 2015 and April 2020. Initial 100-mAs survey images and 50-mAs intraprocedural images were reconstructed by filtered back projection. Denoising was performed using a vendor-agnostic DL model (ClariCT.AITM, ClariPI) for the 50-mAS images, and the 50-mAs, denoised 50-mAs, and 100-mAs CT images were compared. Noise, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and edge rise distance (ERD) for image sharpness were measured. The data were summarized as the mean ± standard deviation for these parameters. Two musculoskeletal radiologists assessed the visibility of the normal anatomical structures. Results: Noise was lower in the denoised 50-mAs images (36.38 ± 7.03 Hounsfield unit [HU]) than the 50-mAs (93.33 ± 25.36 HU) and 100-mAs (63.33 ± 16.09 HU) images (p < 0.001). The SNRs for the images in descending order were as follows: denoised 50-mAs (1.46 ± 0.54), 100-mAs (0.99 ± 0.34), and 50-mAs (0.58 ± 0.18) images (p < 0.001). The denoised 50-mAs images had better edge sharpness than the 100-mAs images at the vertebral body (ERD; 0.94 ± 0.2 mm vs. 1.05 ± 0.24 mm, p = 0.036) and the psoas (ERD; 0.42 ± 0.09 mm vs. 0.50 ± 0.12 mm, p = 0.002). The denoised 50-mAs images significantly improved the visualization of the normal anatomical structures (p < 0.001). Conclusion: DL-based reconstruction may enable simultaneous noise reduction and improvement in image quality with the preservation of edge sharpness on low-dose lumbar spine CT. Investigations on further radiation dose reduction and the clinical applicability of this technique are warranted.

Diagnosis and management of customer's skin condition is an important essential function in the cosmetics and beauty industry. As the social media environment spreads and generalizes to all fields of society, the interaction of questions and answers to various and delicate concerns and requirements regarding the diagnosis and management of skin conditions is being actively dealt with in the social media community. However, since social media information is very diverse and atypical big data, an intelligent skin condition diagnosis system that combines appropriate skin condition information analysis and artificial intelligence technology is necessary. In this paper, we developed the skin condition diagnosis system SCDIS to intelligently diagnose and manage the skin condition of customers by processing the text analysis information of social media into learning data. In SCDIS, an artificial neural network model, AnnTFIDF, that automatically diagnoses skin condition types using artificial neural network technology, a deep learning machine learning method, was built up and used. The performance of the artificial neural network model AnnTFIDF was analyzed using test sample data, and the accuracy of the skin condition type diagnosis prediction value showed a high performance of about 95%. Through the experimental and performance analysis results of this paper, SCDIS can be evaluated as an intelligent tool that can be used efficiently in the skin condition analysis and diagnosis management process in the cosmetic and beauty industry. And this study can be used as a basic research to solve the new technology trend, customized cosmetics manufacturing and consumer-oriented beauty industry technology demand.
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for a high proportion of 85% among all lung cancer and has a significantly higher mortality rate (22.7%) compared to other cancers. Therefore, it is very important to predict the prognosis after surgery in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. In this study, the types of preoperative chest CT image patches for non-small cell lung cancer patients with tumor as a region of interest are diversified into five types according to tumor-related information, and performance of single classifier model, ensemble classifier model with soft-voting method, and ensemble classifier model using 3 input channels for combination of three different patches using pre-trained ResNet and EfficientNet CNN networks are analyzed through misclassification cases and Grad-CAM visualization. As a result of the experiment, the ResNet152 single model and the EfficientNet-b7 single model trained on the peritumoral patch showed accuracy of 87.93% and 81.03%, respectively. In addition, ResNet152 ensemble model using the image, peritumoral, and shape-focused intratumoral patches which were placed in each input channels showed stable performance with an accuracy of 87.93%. Also, EfficientNet-b7 ensemble classifier model with soft-voting method using the image and peritumoral patches showed accuracy of 84.48%.
As the amount of document data increases, the user needs summarized information to understand the document. However, existing document summary research methods rely on overly simple statistics, so there is insufficient research on multiple document summaries for ambiguity of sentences and meaningful sentence generation. In this paper, we investigate semantic connection and preprocessing process to process unnecessary information. Based on the vocabulary semantic pattern information, we propose a multi-document summarization method that enhances semantic connectivity between sentences using VAE. Using sentence word vectors, we reconstruct sentences after learning from compressed information and attribute discriminators generated as latent variables, and semantic connection processing generates a natural summary sentence. Comparing the proposed method with other document summarization methods showed a fine but improved performance, which proved that semantic sentence generation and connectivity can be increased. In the future, we will study how to extend semantic connections by experimenting with various attribute settings.
This paper is a study on context-sensitive spelling error correction and uses the Korean WordNet (KorLex)[1] that defines the relationship between words as a graph to improve the performance of the correction[2] based on the vector information of the word embedded in the correction technique. The Korean WordNet replaced WordNet[3] developed at Princeton University in the United States and was additionally constructed for Korean. In order to learn a semantic network in graph form or to use it for learned vector information, it is necessary to transform it into a vector form by embedding learning. For transformation, we list the nodes (limited number) in a line format like a sentence in a graph in the form of a network before the training input. One of the learning techniques that use this strategy is Deepwalk[4]. DeepWalk is used to learn graphs between words in the Korean WordNet. The graph embedding information is used in concatenation with the word vector information of the learned language model for correction, and the final correction word is determined by the cosine distance value between the vectors. In this paper, In order to test whether the information of graph embedding affects the improvement of the performance of context- sensitive spelling error correction, a confused word pair was constructed and tested from the perspective of Word Sense Disambiguation(WSD). In the experimental results, the average correction performance of all confused word pairs was improved by 2.24% compared to the baseline correction performance.

The large process plant is currently implementing predictive maintenance technology to transition from the traditional Time-Based Maintenance (TBM) approach to the Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) approach in order to improve equipment maintenance and productivity. The traditional techniques for predictive maintenance involved managing upper/lower thresholds (Set-Point) of equipment signals or identifying anomalies through control charts. Recently, with the development of techniques for big analysis, machine learning-based AAKR (Auto-Associative Kernel Regression) and deep learning-based VAE (Variation Auto-Encoder) techniques are being actively applied for predictive maintenance. However, this predictive maintenance techniques is only effective during steady-state operation of plant equipment, and it is difficult to apply them during start-up and shutdown periods when rises or falls. In addition, unlike processes such as nuclear and thermal power plants, which operate for hundreds of days after a single start-up, because the pumped power plant involves repeated start-ups and shutdowns 4-5 times a day, it is needed the prediction and alarm algorithm suitable for its characteristics. In this study, we aim to propose an approach to apply the optimal predictive alarm algorithm that is suitable for the characteristics of Pumped Storage Power Plant(PSPP) facilities to the system by analyzing the predictive maintenance techniques used in existing nuclear and coal power plants.
