  • Recently the most of deep foundation were socketed into weathered rock or soft rock to carry large foundation loads. The end bearing behavior of piles socketed in rock is generally dependent on the rock mass conditions with discontinuities and rock strength. Therefore, it is very important that the estimating rock classification with relation of TCR, RQD and unpredicted rock condition. In this study, the construction failure example of drilled shaft due to mistaking to estimate the rock classification on penetration were analyzed in site, so we hope to discuss problems of determining the rock socketed length of drilled shaft on construction.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the vertical stress properties in sandy soil according to changes of loading type in soil bin compacted three layers. The following conclusions and comparisons have been made based on careful analysis from theoretical and experimental methods. : When sandy soil subjected to cycle-loading, compression of foundation and diffusion of vertical stress increment(${\Delta}{\sigma}_2$) were influenced by magnitude of loading plate. When sandy soil subjected to reloading after removing of pre-loading, the distribution of ${\Delta}{\sigma}_2$ depth at one time of loading plate width was different from its distribution at more deep point cause of load hysteresis, so in case of design of structure, the effect of ${\Delta}{\sigma}_2$ as depth must be considered. The increment of vertical stress will be different as loading condition and foundation depth, the loading condition must be considered in case of structure design.

  • In e-commerce platforms, sentiment analysis on an enormous number of user reviews efficiently enhances user satisfaction. In this article, an automated product recommendation system is developed based on machine and deep-learning models. In the initial step, the text data are acquired from the Amazon Product Reviews dataset, which includes 60 000 customer reviews with 14 806 neutral reviews, 19 567 negative reviews, and 25 627 positive reviews. Further, the text data denoising is carried out using techniques such as stop word removal, stemming, segregation, lemmatization, and tokenization. Removing stop-words (duplicate and inconsistent text) and other denoising techniques improves the classification performance and decreases the training time of the model. Next, vectorization is accomplished utilizing the term frequency-inverse document frequency technique, which converts denoised text to numerical vectors for faster code execution. The obtained feature vectors are given to the modified convolutional neural network model for sentiment analysis on e-commerce platforms. The empirical result shows that the proposed model obtained a mean accuracy of 97.40% on the APR dataset.

  • A method of calculating the natural frequency corresponding to the first mode of vibration of beams and tower structures, with irregular cross sections and with arbitrary boundary conditions was developed and reported by Kim, D. H. in 1974. In this paper, the result of application of this method to the special orthotropic plates on elastic foundation with free boundaries is presented. Such plates represent the concrete highway slab and hybrid composite pavement on bridges. Any method may be used to obtain the deflection influence surfaces needed for this vibration analysis. Finite difference method is used for this purpose, in this paper. The influence of the modulus of the foundation and the aspect ratio of the plate on the natural frequency is thoroughly studied. The effect of neglecting the mass of the plates on the natural frequency, as the ratio of the point mass/masses to the plate mass increases, is also studied, in deep.

  • MFD (Make up Film Deterioration) is a gradual deterioration of applied make up and is a common problem experienced by most foundation users. Our investigation revealed that for 64% of all make up users MFD is their greatest consern is using foundations. Known that the primary cause of MFD is sebum secretion. We observed that the length of time prior to onset of MFD in people who produce high level of sebum varies significantly from person to person. This suggests that other factors besides quantity of sebum production can affect MFD. Control over this factor would, we believe, be key to developing longer-lasting makeups. We studied the relationship between MFD and skin surface conditions. Our study revealed that furrows on the skin surface affect MFD significantly. Sebum reaches the skin surface from sebaceous glands and flows along furrow on the skin. If there are many deep furrows, it takes longer for sebum to overflow. But if the furrows are few or shallow, sebum quickly overflows and spreads over the skin surface where it can degrade the make up film. Therefore even when the volume of sebum produced is the same, the rate of MFD will be different depending on the number and shape of the furrows. A longer-lasting foundation could be produced by matching personal skin condition, but this would be very difficult because individual variations in texture are very large. Therefore we approached the problem by attempting to impose sebum resistance in under make up and foundation. We have developed two new materials and make up products based on our theory. A new fluoroalkyl acrylate-methacrylates copolymer designed for incorporation in under make up is extremely sebum resistant and sweat proof. Another new acrylate polymer designed for inclusion in foundation absorbs sebum and changes to a solid. Usage tests confirm it is possible to reduce MFD by using under make up and foundation which incorporate our new materials to cover where skin furrows are few or shallow

  • With the wide spread of smart farms and the advancements in IoT technology, it is easy to obtain additional data in addition to crop images. Consequently, deep learning-based crop disease diagnosis research utilizing multimodal data has become important. This study proposes a crop disease diagnosis method using multimodal supervised contrastive learning by expanding upon the multimodal self-supervised learning. RandAugment method was used to augment crop image and time series of environment data. These augmented data passed through encoder and projection head for each modality, yielding low-dimensional features. Subsequently, the proposed multimodal supervised contrastive loss helped features from the same class get closer while pushing apart those from different classes. Following this, the pretrained model was fine-tuned for crop disease diagnosis. The visualization of t-SNE result and comparative assessments of crop disease diagnosis performance substantiate that the proposed method has superior performance than multimodal self-supervised learning.

  • Purpose: To measure the level of reflection, this study analyzes diaries written by third-year nursing students before and after the debriefing stage in simulation training. A qualitative study using diary entries from 15 nursing students to explore reflection depth. Methods: Students engaged in simulation training and the debriefing stage, documenting their reflections in diaries. Before and after debriefing, reflections were rated from Level 1 (reflectivity) to Level 7 (theoretical reflectivity). Results: The total number of reflection levels rose significantly from 545 to 829 post-debriefing, enhancing higher-order reflection. The shift signifies a move from superficial to deep reflection, highlighting debriefing's role in fostering critical thinking. Conclusion: The findings underscore the critical role of debriefing in enhancing reflective thinking in nursing education. There is a demonstrated need for further research into the specific elements of debriefing that are most effective at promoting deep reflection. Future studies should conduct comparative analyses of different debriefing methods and approaches across various educational settings. This research could lay the foundation for designing more effective debriefing strategies that foster critical thinking and improve learning outcomes in nursing education.

  • The studies were carried out to find the cause and the quantitative evaluation of sea dike materials loss which is occured during the period of construction works for the tideland reclamation projects on the west coast of Korea. Major subjects to studies were to establish the typical relationships between the tidal flow and the movement of dike materials, the tidal-flow and the erosion, the dike materials and the ratio of material movement(losses), construction methods and the ratio of materials movement (losses). Based on the above subjects, the studies were made for the purpose of obtain the following informations; (1) Collecting and evaluaing the data of dike material losses due to foundation settlement, from designed existing dikes on the west coast. (2) By the field investigation at A-San Sea Dike, Pyong Taek Project, the Comparison would be made by the relationships between the tide velocity and the movement of dike foundation under the natural conditions and the period of construction so that find out the relationship between the dike materials of foundation situation and settlements. With regard to the dike construction works, it is so difficult to calculate the exact quantity of material losses due to the foundation settlements. The major factors that affect the settlement losses of the dike materials are: (1) Topographical variation (2) Swepting the sectional area of dike by the tide velocity. (3) Dumping riprap to the outerside of dike during the period of construction works. (4) Sectional area losses by the cause of occurence of the new tide channels. (5) material losses by the heavy storms. (6) Consolidation settlement by the foundation weakness. (7) Material losses by the earth materials by tide flow. Most hi호 material losses were occured by the Consolidation settlement due to the foundation weakness, the maximum tide velocities due to decrease the cross sectional area of the gaps and erosion of foundation due to the range of tide, Inner and outerside of dike, or dike material loses due to the tide flow. Final conclusion would be obtained by the continuous measurement of consolidation settlement at the stage of final clusure of the dike. (It is scheduled to close on the end of 1972) However, intermediate conclusion can be introduced as follows: (1) The estimation of material(losses) during the period of construction works for the existing sea-dikes up to date were only empirical. The material losses at the general closure for design was estimated at 10% of the riprap, 20% of the earth materials, and 20% of the riprap, 40% of the earth materials at the final closure of the dike. The final closure estimated double quantity to the general closure, but it is still doubt. (2) The ratio of consolidation settlements was found smaller than the calculated quantity. It can be foreseen that settlement speeds is higher thom the calculated speeds. (3) The movement of dike foundation under the natural conditions were not so depends on the geological conditions of the foundation. (4) When the tide velocities was estimated 100 at the normal tide, it was estimated 125 at the high tide and 55 at the low tide. The tide velocities at the low tide shows apparently lower than the high tide and the higher velocities at the deep water depth.
