To help students understand the deduction system in the proof, we analyzed the textbook on mathematics at first. As results, we could find that the textbook' system of deduction is similar with the Euclid' system of deduction. The starting point of deduction is different with each other. But the flow of deduction match with each other. Next, we searched for the example of circular argument and analyzed. As results, we classified the circular argument into two groups. The first is an internal circular argument which is a circular argument occurred in a theorem. The second is an external circular argument which is a circular argument occurred between many theorems. We could know that the flow of deduction system is consistent in internal-external dimension. Lastly, we proposed the desirable teaching direction to help students understand the deduction system in the proof.
The article proposed a new type of data relationship: Positive Boolean dependencies by groups on block and slice in the database model of block form, where instead of considering value pairs, we consider a group of p values (p ≥ 2). From this new concept, the article stated and demonstrated the equivalence of the three types of deduction, namely: deduction by logic, deduction by block with groups, deduction by block has no more than p elements with groups. Operations on blocks or slices performed for index attributes on blocks, the properties related to this new concept as theorem the equivalen of the three types of deduction, closure of set positive Boolean dependencies by groups and representation and tight representation set of positive Boolean dependencies by groups when the block degenerated into relation are true in the relational database model and also stated and proven in this paper.

The temporary tax deduction on investment cutting the corporate income tax within 10% of the amount of investment is aimed at stimulating the investment for economic activity. 25 business sectors are applied to this tax law and in tourism, the accommodation registered by tour promotion law and international convention plan business belong to it. I'd like to mention the problem of the temporary tax deduction on investment amount for hotels and suggest better solutions. This tax law is so temporary applied that we shouldn't get tax deduction after June 30, 2002. So, we can't get income tax deduction on the investment out of the available period. And further more this tax law has a rule not real investment but solely new project investment for hotels. There are numbers of difference between real investment and new project investment. The amount of investment is based on an object of acquisition taxation. And also there are numbers of difference between real investment and an object of acquisition taxation. For example, landscape construction is a great part of hotel construction but it's not an object of acquisition taxation. For running hotel business, we also need lots of equipments such as linens utensils for restaurant and decorations for hotel interior. But these are also excluded from this tax law. As you know, these equipments can be regarded as product equipments in manufacture industry. Therefore we should take the specificity of hotel investment into consideration and expand the role of the temporary income tax deduction on investment amount for hotels.

The aims of this study are to investigate two main problems for the hypothetico-deduction method and to develop a scientific inquiry model to resolve these problems. The structure of this scientific inquiry model consists of accounts of the context of discovery and justification that the hypothetico-deduction holds as two main problems : 1) the heuristic flaw in the hypothetico-deduction method is that there is no limit to creating hypotheses to explain natural phenomena; 2) Logically, this brings into question affirming the consequent and modus tollens. The features of the model are as follows: first, the generation of hypotheses using an analogical abduction and the selection of hypotheses using consilience and simplicity; second, the expansion phase as resolution for the fallacy of affirming the consequent and the recycle phase as resolution for modus tollens involving auxiliary hypotheses. Finally, we examine the establishment process of Copernicus's Heliocentric Hypothesis and the main role of the history of science for the historical invalidity of this scientific inquiry model based on three examples of If/and/then type of explanation testing suggested by Lawson (International journal of science and Mathematics Education, 2005a, 3(1): 1-5) We claim that this hypotheticho-deduction process involving abduction approach produced favorable in scientific literacy rising for science teacher as well as students.

The purpose of this paper is to propose the deduction equation of shear strength of high strength reinforced concrete beams input steel fibrous. To propose the deduction equation of shear strength, we studied high reasonable verification by comparing proposal equation with other researches such as equation of ACI code 318-95 or equation of Zsutty. To propose the deduction equation of shear strength, regression analysis was done using MINITAP program. Finally, it has been tried to make an improvement of brittleness quality of high strength concrete which has been weak points and it is convinced the result by increase of deflection and strain about loads.

The present work develops a method of evaluating thrust deduction and wake for different loads of the propeller using the concerted application of the theoretical tools and experimental techniques. It also shows the applicability of the new method to the design of optimum hull form. Firstly, the problem of hull-propeller interaction was analyzed in terms of inviscid as well as viscous components of the thrust deduction and wake. The wavemaking resistance of a hull and propeller were mathematically represented by sources on the hull surface and sink on the propeller plane, respectively. The strength of sink was determined by utilizing the radial distributions of propeller load and nominal wake. The resistance increment due to a propeller and the axial perturbation flow induced by the hull in the propeller plane were calculated. Especially, the inviscid component of the thrust deduction was calculated by subtraction the wavemaking resistance of a bare hull, the wavemaking resistance of a free-running propeller and the augmentation of propeller resistance due to hull action from the wavemaking resistance of the hull with a propeller. The viscous components of the thrust deduction and wake were estimated as functions of propeller load which were established by the propeller load varying test after deduction the calculated inviscid components. Secondly, an analysis method of powering performance was developed based on the potential theory and the propeller load varying test. The hybrid method estimates the thrust deduction, wake and propeller open-water efficiency for different propeller load. This method can be utilized in the analysis of powering performance for the propeller load variation such as the added resistance due to hull surface roughness, the added resistance due to wind, etc. Finally, the hybrid method was applied to the optimum design of hull form. A series of afterbody shapes was obtained by systematically varying the waterplane and section shapes of a parent afterbody without changing the principal dimensions, block coefficient and prismatic coefficient. From the comparison of the predicted results such as wavemaking resistance, thrust deduction, wake and delivered power, an optimum hull form was obtained. The delivered power of the optimized hull form was reduced by 5.7% which was confirmed by model tests. Also the predicted delivered power by the hybrid method shows fairly good agreement with the test result. It is therefore considered that the new analysis method of powering performance can be utilized as a practical tool for the design of optimum hull form as for the analysis of powering performance for the propeller load variation in the preliminary design stage.
This paper presents a prototype expert system (ESRCP) for Reactor Coolant Pumps. The purpose of this system is to diagnose RCP failures and to offer corrective operational guides to plant operators. The first symptoms for the diagnosis are the alarms which are related to the RCP domain. Alarm processing is required to find a primary causal alarm when multiple alarms occur. The system performs the alarm processing by rule-based deduction or priority factor operation. To diagnose the RCP failure, the system performs rule-based deduction or Bayesian inference. Various sensor readings are required as symptoms to infer a root cause. When the symptoms are insufficient or uncertain to diagnose accurately, Bayesian inference is performed.
This research executed research that analyze construction cost and profitability through construction example of direction and subcontracting construction based on common private construction less than 3 billion. The results of this research, is summarized as follows. (1) Analyzed profitability about construction gross and operating profit of direction and subcontracting construction. The construction gross profit rate is 15.2% direction construction, subcontracting construction was analyzed by 1.3% high by 16.5% subcontracting construction, and the operating profit rate is 9.4% direction construction, subcontracting construction was construed by 2.3% high by 11.7% subcontracting construction. (2) Analyzed profitability about operating profit before and after deduction of 4 insurance cost of direction construction. The direction construction operating profit rate is 9.4% before deduction of 4 insurance cost, after deduction was construed that is 7.3% and operating profit rate difference after and before deduction was construed that is 2.1%. Therefore, subcontracting construction (operating profit rate 11.7%) was analyzed that last operating profitability after 4 insurance cost deduction produces more 4.4% about direction construction.
The aim of this paper is to clarify the difference between the concept of deduction-induction and Aristotle's concept of syllogismos-epagoge. First, Aristotle does not use the expression 'invalid syllogismos'. But a valid deduction is distinguished from a invalid deduction in modern logic. Second, from Aristotle's point of view syllogismos is paralleled by epagoge. Because syllogismos is equivalent to epagoge in logical form. But a disturbing lack of parallelism exists between deduction and induction by which the standards for establishing inductive conclusions are more demanding than those for deductive ones. Third, instructors in introductory logic courses ordinarily stress the need to evaluate arguments first in terms of the strength of the conclusion relative to the premises. Accordingly, students may be told to assume that premises are true. But Aristotle does not assume that premises are true. A syllogismos start from the conceptually true premise and a epagoge start from the empirically true premise.
It tends to be emphasized that mathematics is the important discipline to develop students' mathematical reasoning abilities such as deduction, induction, analogy, and visual reasoning. This study is aimed for investigating the present state about mathematical reasoning in secondary school. We survey teachers' opinions and analyze the results. The results are analyzed by frequency analysis including percentile, t-test, and MANOVA. Results are the following: 1. Teachers recognized mathematics as knowledge constructed by deduction, induction, analogy and visual reasoning, and evaluated their reasoning abilities high. 2. Teachers indicated the importances of reasoning in curriculum, the necessities and the representations, but there are significant difference in practices comparing to the former importances. 3. To evaluate mathematical reasoning, teachers stated that they needed items and rubric for assessment of reasoning. And at present, they are lacked. 4. The hindrances in teaching mathematical reasoning are the lack of method for appliance to mathematics instruction, the unpreparedness of proposals for evaluation method, and the lack of whole teachers' recognition for the importance of mathematical reasoning
