The purpose of this research is to investigate the influence of demographic and housing life-style variables on evaluation or choice criteria to the decision making for purchasing house. The results of this research were as follows ; 1) In analysis on housing life-style according to demographic variables, it showed that the age group had significant difference in decoration pursuits ; the educational group had significant difference in self-expression ; the income group had significant difference in self-expression and interior function. 2) In analysis on evaluation or choice criteria of decision making for purchasing house according to demographic variables, it showed that : the age group had significant difference in surrounding environment ; the educational group had significant difference in interior environment, interior or exterior facilty, apartment management, economics and surrounding environment ; the income group had significant difference in avail of approach, convenience facilities, apartment management, economics and surrounding environment. 3) In analysis the influence of demographic and housing life-style variables on evaluation or choice criteria to decision making for purchasing house, it was effected on educational level, decoration pursuit, practicality and ostentation in interior environment ; decoration pursuit, self-expression, interior function and practicality in interior or exterior facility ; decoration pursuit, practicality and ostentation in avail ability of approach and convenience facilities ; self-expression, practicality and ostentation in apartment management and economics ; age level, income level, decoration pursuit, self-expression, practicality and ostentation in surrounding environment.

IT Outsourcing has been take place for ages and its range has expanded. The cases are also often take place more but there are a few criteria for making decision of IT outsourcing project. Companies tend to take IT outsourcing as a trend or to follow competitor's IT outsourcing project. This study suggests the criteria for IT outsourcing project before going into the project. The criteria ate to describe what function of the companies need to take outsourcing. Research model is driven by Statistics and AHP method. Also, variables are presented for clear making decision. This model allows the companies find proper IT outsourcing type and conveniences.

This study investigates the decision criteria used in the context of IT investment decision making and empirically analyzes the impact of IT project size and types on the importance of decision criteria. 5 criteria which have been extracted from the previous studies and industry practices are budget, financial benefits. strategic value. risk, and the degree of proposer's eagerness. Data of 120 IT project proposals have been collected from 5 companies including bank, insurance. and stock trading company. As results of ANOVA test. 7 out of 10 hypothesis have been accepted statistically. That is. the bigger the project size. the higher the evaluation weight of project budget and risk criteria and the lower the weight of proposer's eagerness. And in case of the infrastructure investment type. the emphasis is placed more on strategic value and risk criteria and less on financial benefit and proposer's eagerness. These findings provide insights for both IT practitioners and researchers.

The ordinary multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) approach requires two types of input, alternative values and criterion weights, and employs two schemes of alternative prioritization, dominance and potential optimality. This paper allows for incomplete information on both types of input and gives rise to the dominance relationships and potential optimality of alternatives. Unlike the earlier studies, we emphasize that incomplete information frequently takes the form of strict inequalities, such as strict orders and strict bounds, rather than weak inequalities. Then the issues of rising importance include: (1) The standard mathematical programming approach to prioritize alternatives cannot be used directly, because the feasible region for the permissible decision parameters becomes an open set. (2) We show that the earlier methods replacing the strict inequalities with weak ones, by employing a small positive number or zeroes, which closes the feasible set, may cause a serious problem and yield unacceptable prioritization results. Therefore, we address these important issues and develop a useful and simple method, without selecting any small value for the strict preference information. Given strict information on both types of decision parameters, we first construct a nonlinear program, transform it into a linear programming equivalent, and finally solve it via a two-stage method. An application is also demonstrated herein.

Conclusions - In multi criterion decision making (MCDM), using its searching software capacity to obtain the optimal solution.

Nowadays, several welding processes are generally used to join parts together, and the materials are generally steel, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and other difficult-to-weld materials. If a proper welding process is chosen, it is helpful for welding parts. However, there is no desirable technique for appropriately deciding on the welding process in the industry. Therefore, an appropriate method of selecting a welding process is needed for the novice worker in the industry. In this sense, a new analytic network process (ANP) technique is used for effective decision making in welding. By considering several criteria in ANP, a selection method is suggested to decide on the proper welding process. In the study, several criteria were considered for the proper welding of parts. By considering a matrix of prior interdependence effects among various welding processes, a decision-making method based on an ANP is accomplished using a weighting matrix, which is supposed to select an appropriate welding process. In addition, for appropriate decision criteria of the welding process, several factors, such as material, shape, precision, economics, and equipment, are used to accomplish the ANP algorithm. Moreover, the final weighting matrix is calculated following its ANP strategy. Furthermore, this decision-making technique is applied to both stainless razor spot joining and thick steel pipe joining. The results show its reliability and practicality, and the novice engineer and manager can use this technique to determine the best welding process.

Every public agency governing infrastructure has to plan effectively for rehabilitation of existing facilities within the constraints of the capital program. Numerous technical, social, political, financial, and management constraints govern the decision to rehabilitate a facility. However, without a systematic procedure for selecting facilities for rehabilitation, within the prevailing constraints, it is possible that the funds available for rehabilitation might be suboptimized. Therefore, a decision support system that assists the user in selecting facilities for rehabilitation while considering the technical, social, financial, and political and management constraints will be useful in the decision-making process. This paper compares the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with the Swing Weight method used to prioritize functional criteria for suburban station rehabilitation. This paper also contains a brief discussion about the relevance of the Multi Attribute utility theory in developing a decision model for the problem at hand. The results of this paper provides the user with a decision support system that would prioritize the stations in order of their weights obtained by a systematic evaluation of various criteria and sub-criteria involved in the decision making process

This paper presents an analysis of Korean middle managers' decision-making processes. The sample included the observations of decisions made by 17 groups with 5 to 7 members each. The 5 hour-long, in average, decision processes were analysed by a modified system of Fisher's(1970) Interaction Process Analysis. The results showed that Korean managers followed alternative-focused decision processes, as opposite to value-focused ones. That is, the decision-making groups showed a strong trend to elaborate on alternative generation and evaluation right after the situation analysis. They tended to discuss the objectives of decision and relevant criteria only to resolve conflicts arisen during the evaluation process of alternatives. The analysis also showed that a decision proposition was more frequently followed by negative responses than positive ones and by interpretative evaluations than substantiative ones. The lessons from this study suggest a direction for the development of group decision support systems tailored for Korean cultural characteristics. This study is also meaningful as the first observation and empirical analysis of Korean middle managers' decision-making processes.

This study understood what effect was produced on the purchasing decision making of outdoor wear by a shopping orientation, fashion involvement and demographic characteristics offered practical suggestions as to what effect was produced on the store selection criteria, product selection criteria for purchasing decision making in purchasing outdoor wear. This research was conducted through a questionnaire survey, and 397 males in were collected for analysis. The results were as follows. First, shopping orientation group was classified into hedonic shopping orientation group and utilitarian shopping orientation group. And it was classified into high fashion involvement group and low fashion involvement group according to fashion involvement. Product selection criteria were classified into 2 factors such as intrinsic attributes and extrinsic attributes. And store selection criteria were classified into 4 factors such as store atmosphere, store environment, promotion and salesmen. Second, there was partly significant difference in product selection criteria, and store selection criteria between utilitarian shopping group and hedonic shopping group. Third, there was significant difference in product selection criteria and store selection criteria between high fashion involvement group and low fashion involvement group. Finally, there was significant difference in the and according to age, job, and income among demographic characteristics.

In the microcell or picocell-based system the frequent movements of mobiles bring about excessive traffics Into the networks. A mobile location estimation mechanism can facilitate both efficient resource allocation and better QoS provisioning through handoff optimization. Existing location estimation schemes consider only LOS model and have poor performance in presence of multi-path and shadowing. In this paper we study multi-criteria decision making which can increase estimation accuracy by considering other multiple decision parameters than the received signal strength.
