The nonlinear function approximation based on the neural network application

  • In this paper, genetic algorithm (GA) is the technique to search for the optimal structures (i,e., the kind of neural network, the number of hidden neuron, ..) of the neural networks which are used approximating a given nonlinear function, In this paper, we used multi layer feed-forward neural network. The decision method of synapse weights of each neuron in each generation used back-propagation method. In this study, we simulated nonlinear function approximation in the temperature control system.

  • We present a new scheme to increase the performance of edge-preserving image smoothing from the parameter tuning of a Markov random field (MRF) function. The method is based on automatic control of the image smoothing-strength in MRF model ing in which an introduced parameter function is based on control of enforcing power of a discontinuity-adaptive Markov function and edge magnitude resulted from discontinuities of image intensity. Without any binary decision for the edge magnitude, adaptive control of the enforcing power with the full edge magnitude could improve the performance of discontinuity-preserving image smoothing.

  • 셀룰라 시스템에서 D2D 유틸리티 최적화 문제를 연구하도록 한다. 구체적으로, Non-Convex 최적화 문제의 복잡도를 완화하도록 해주는 오목함수 결정규칙을 제안하고자 한다. 일반적으로, 유틸리티 함수는 신호와 간섭의 함수이며, 해법이 복잡한 Non-Convex 형태를 가진다. 본 논문에서는 간단한 해법을 찾고자 유틸리티 함수를 간섭관점에서 분석한다. 먼저 D2D 수신단에서의 간섭 레벨을 의미하는 '상대간섭'과 간섭을 주요간섭으로 간략화하는 '간섭주요화'를 수식적으로 정의한다. 정의한 간섭주요화를 바탕으로 간단한 해법의 기반이 되는 오목함수 결정규칙과 최적화 해법이 간단한 Convex Optimization 해법을 제안하도록 한다. 실험결과를 통하여 유틸리티 함수는 D2D 적용시나리오에 해당하는 수치인 상대간섭 0.1 이하에서는 오목함수임을 확인하였다. 또한, 제안하는 Convex Optimization 해법은 상대간섭 수치 0.1 이하에서 적용이 가능함을 확인하였다.

항공관제 시스템에서 항공기 공중충돌 경고기능의 설계 및 구현 (The Design and Implementation of the Collision Avoidance Warning Function in the Air Traffic Control System)

  • An aircraft collision accident is a disaster that causes great losses of inventories and lives. Though a collision avoidance warning function is provided automatically to pilots in the aircrafts by the enhancement of the aircraft capability, achieving fast decision-making to escape a collision situation is a complex and dangerous work for pilots. If an in-flight collision situation is controlled by the air traffic control system which monitors all airplanes in the air, it would be more efficient to prevent in-flight collisions because it can handle the emergency before the pilot's action. In this paper, we develop the collision avoidance warning function in the air traffic control system. Specifically, we design and implement the five stages of the collision avoidance function, and propose a visualization method which could effectively provide the operators with the trajectories and altitudes of the aircrafts in a collision situation. By developing an in-flight collision warning function in the air traffic control system that visualizes flight patterns through the state transition data of in-flight aircrafts on the flight path lines, it can effectively prevent in-flight collisions with traffic alerts. The developed function allows operators to effectively select and control the aircraft in a collision situation by providing the operators with the expected collision time, the relative distance, and the relative altitude while assessing the level of alert, and visualizing the alert information which includes the Attention-Warning-Alert phase via embodying the TCAS standard. With the developed function the air traffic control system could sense an in-flight collision situation before the pilot's decision-making moment.

군수지원시스템을 위한 에이전트 기반의 객체 지향 시뮬레이션 모델 아키텍처 설계 방법론 (A Methodology for Creating a Simulation Model for a Agent Based and Object-oriented Logistics Support System)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 복잡한 군수지원시스템의 모델링과 시뮬레이션을 위한 방법론을 제안하는 것이다. 제안하는 군수지원시스템 시뮬레이션 모델을 구성하는 요소들은 세 가지가 있다 : Logistics force agent(static model), Military supplies transport manager(function model), Military supplies state manager(dynamic model). Logistics force agent는 main function agent와function agent로 구성된다. Function agent가 다른 Logistics force agent에도 적용할 수 있도록 설계되었으며, 이는 에이전트의 높은 조합성과 재사용성을 가진다. Military supplies transport manager는 보급로에 대한 정보를 가지며 military supplies state manager로부터 받은 결정변수를 기반으로 보급로를 결정하고 군수품을 수송하는 역할을 하는 에이전트이다. Military supplies state manager는 군수품 보급을 요청받고 보급량, 우선순위 따위의 결정 변수를 military supplies transport manager에게 알려주는 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 군수 시뮬레이션 모델의 설계를 위해 Discrete Event Systems Specification(DEVS) formalism을 이용하였다.

  • The power expansion planning is large and capital intensive capacity planning. In the past, the expansion planning was established with the proper supply reliability in order to minimize social cost. However, the planning not used cost minimizing objective function in the power markets with many market participants. This paper proposed the power expansion planning model using multi-criteria decision rule. This model used multi objective function considering not only cost minimizing but also GENCO's intension. This paper compared proposed model with WASP model in order to verify the result of proposed model.

  • The objective of this study was to develop a mathematical model for optimum design of diversified farming systems which have the regional characteristics. For this purpose, the farming surveys were conducted for mainly 1984 agriculture. They were carried out on January and July 1985 for three villages of central region of Korea. The surveyed data were analyzed by systems analysis and the diversified farming systems were modeled. They consist of four and six croping patterns for paddy and upland, two and three kinds of fruit crop and livestock, and seven kinds of farm machinery for each work system. Then a mathematical model was developed by the multiple objective decision making (MODM) method in order to design optimum systems of diversified farming. It consists of 23 decision variables, two objective functions and nine constraint functions. The goals of objective function are maximization of agricultural incomes and power inputs of farm machinery, and the modeled factors for constraint function are arable land, available capital, labor, and land utilization.

게임이론을 이용한 제조업체의 직접마케팅 진입전략 분석 (Game Theoretic Analysis of the Direct Marketing Channel Strategy of a Manufacturer)

  • The proliferation of the internet and electronic commerce has given the manufacturers the opportunity of direct marketing. This study analyzes the decision of manufacturers regarding whether to sell the products through independent sales company or to sell the products to the consumer directly. To do this, a new demand function is proposed and sub and super games are modeled and analyzed based on the demand function. By analyzing the Nash equilibria, it is shown that the manufacturers' decision of direct or indirect marketing not only depends on the competitiveness between the products but the absolute and relative marketing capabilities of the manufacturers. It is also shown that, in some cases, the manufactures have incentive to rise the competitiveness between the products to maximize the channel profit.

  • Project managers are responsible to conduct project on time with least amount of costs and the most possible quality with respect to shortage of resources and environmental certainties. They have to make the best decision to reach such conflicting objects. In this study the project scheduling with multi goals-multi modes was planned in fuzzy conditions under resource constraints and expanded by fuzzy goal programing (FGP). The project cost was calculated by the price of renewable resources and the quality criteria were evaluated by the quality function deployment method (QFD). Finally the model was verified by a construction case study with 22 activities along with solving by GAMS. The results showed that this model could provide a systematic framework to facilitate the decision making process and made the project managers to be able to schedule the project closer to reality.

  • The brain of the human is the best model for the artificial intelligence and is studied by many natural, medical scientists and engineers. In the engineering department, the brain model becomes a main subject in the area of development of a system that can represent and think like human. In this paper, we approach and define the function of the brain biologically and especially, make a model for the function of cerebral cortex, known as a part that performs behavior inference and decision for sensitive information from the thalamus. Therefore, we try to make a model for the transfer process of the brain. The brain takes the sensory information from sensory organ, proceeds behavior inference and decision and finally, commands behavior to the motor nerves. We use the modular neural network in this model. finally, we would like to design the intelligent system that can sense, recognize, think and decide like the brain by learning the information process in the brain with the modular neural network.
