In this paper, we propose the modeling of the power/ground plane which includes complex dielectric permittivity and loss tangent for the power/ground coupled noise. In order to estimate the effects of the dielectric substrate for the coupled noise, we used full-wave simulators, HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulation) and MWS(MicroWave Studio). The simulated results for the commercial substrates are compared with the measured values. TLM(Transmission Line Method) was used for the calculation of power plane impedance using Debye model which depicts the dielectric loss of PCB. Finally, impedance from proposed circuit model showed very good coincidence to the measured data.

An impedance of ground electrode for information and communication facilities has a significant relationship with the electrical characteristics of soil where the ground electrode is buried. Especially, the impedance of ground electrode is directly affected by the characteristics of permittivity and conductivity in soil as a function of a frequency of an applied electric field. The program based on the electromagnetic field model was developed in MATLAB. Because both permittivity and conductivity can not be modified in commercial programs. The permittivity of soil was applied with the Debye equation which is a model of dielectric relaxation. And the empirical equation of the conductivity in soil was quoted in other paper. In order to confirm the reliability of proposed program, the impedance measurement of ground electrode was carried out, which were compared with the results of simulation in commercial program. In result, it was confirmed that the impedance and phase different simulated by appling the characteristics of permittivity and conductivity in soil are in good agreement with the measured values than results of NEC.

When the lightning current is injected to the ground system of information and communication facilities, analysis of the transient potential rise in the ground system is one of main factors to effectively design the ground system. The performance of grounding systems is normally estimated with the grounding impedance and the transient potential rise which represents the electrical characteristics of the grounding system. The method for calculating the grounding impedance depending on the injection point of the lightning current was proposed. The delta-gap source model was proposed to calculate the grounding impedance in the case that the lightning current is injected to the center of the horizontal ground electrode. A new program which is possible to apply the frequency-dependent soil parameters using the Debye model was developed, because a commercial program for analyzing the performance of the grounding system can not apply to the frequency-dependent soil parameters. The experiment was carried out to confirm the availability of the simulation results with the same condition. Finally, the transient potential rises of a horizontal ground electrode depending on the lightning current waveforms were analyzed by using the results of the grounding impedance which is associated with the frequency-dependent soil parameters.
Structural changes of an iron phthalocyanine (FePC) monolayer induced by adsorption and externally applied potential on high area carbon surface have been investigated in situ by iron K-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) in 0.5 M $H_2S0_4.$ Fine structures shown in the X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) for microcrystalline FePC decreased upon adsorption and further diminished under electrochemical conditions. Fe(II)PC(-2) showed a 1s ${\rightarrow}$ 4p transition as poorly resolved shoulder to the main absorption edge rather than a distinct peak and a weak 1s ${\rightarrow}$ 3d transition. The absorption edge position measured at half maximum was shifted from 7121.8 eV for Fe(lI)PC(-2) to 7124.8 eV for $[Fe(III)PC(-2)]^+$ as well as the 1s ${\rightarrow}$ 3d pre-edge peak being slightly enhanced. However, essentially no absorption edge shift was observed by the 1-electron reduction of Fe(Il)PC(-2), indicating that the species formed is $[Fe(II)PC(-3)]^-$. Structural parameters were obtained by analyzing extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) oscillations with theoretical phases and amplitudes calculated from FEFF 6.01 using multiple-scattering theory. When applied to the powder FePC, the average iron-to-phthalocyanine nitrogen distance, d(Fe-$N_p$) and the coordination number were found to be 1.933 $\AA$ and 3.2, respectively, and these values are the same, within experimental error, as those reported ( $1.927\AA$ and 4). Virtually no structural changes were found upon adsorption except for the increased Debye-Wailer factor of $0.005\AA^2$ from $0.003\AA^2.$ Oxidation of Fe(II)PC(-2) to $[Fe(III)PC(-2)]^+$ yielded an increased d(Fe-Np) (1 $.98\AA)$ and Debye-Wailer factor $(0.005\AA^2).$ The formation of $[Fe(II)PC(-3)]^-$, however, produced a shorter d(Fe-$N_p$) of $1.91\AA$ the same as that of crystalline FePC within experimental error, and about the same DebyeWaller $factor(0.006\AA^2)$.
La substituted perovskite $BiFeO_3$ have been prepared by a sol-gel method. Magnetic and structural properties of the powders were characterized with Mossbauer spectroscopy, XRD, SEM, and TG-DTA. The crystal structure is found to be a rhombohedrally distorted perovskite structure with the lattice constant $\alpha=3.985{\AA}\;and\;\alpha=89.5^{\circ}.\;Bi_{2/3}La_{1/3}FeO_3$ powders that were annealed at and above $600^{\circ}C$ have a single-phase perovskite structure. However, powders annealed at $900^{\circ}C$ have a typical perovskite structure with small amount of $Bi_2O_3$ phase. The Neel temperature of $Bi_{2/3}La_{1/3}FeO_3$ is found to be $680\pm3K$. The isomer shift value at room temperature is found to be 0.27 mm/s relative to the Fe metal, which is consistent with high-spin $Fe^{3+}$ charge states. Debye temperature far$Bi_{2/3}La_{1/3}FeO_3$ is found to be $305\pm5K$. The average hyperfine field $H_{hf}(T)$ of the $Bi_{2/3}La_{1/3}FeO_3$, shows a temperature dependence of $[H_{hf}(T)-H_{hf}(0)]/H_{hf}(0)=-0.42(T/T_N)^{3/2}-0.13(T/T_N)^{5/2}$ for $T/T_N<0.7$ indicative of spin-wave excitation.

The lightning protection of information and communication facilities is very important factor to improve a reliability of the action of these equipment. Especially the transient potential rise of ground electrode being injected with the lightning current is to be a basic data of the dielectric strength for both power and communication facilities so that more accurate analysis should be required. The transient potential rise can be calculated from the ground impedance and the ground impedance is strongly dependent upon the shape of the ground electrode and the frequency-dependence of soil. The Debye's equation which is able to calculate the characteristics of dielectrics is used to analyze the frequency-dependent of soil. Also, the method to calculate the transient potential rise from the ground impedance is specified in this paper. In order to analyze the transient potential rise resulting from calculations with Debye's equation, TLM(transmission line method) and case of ${\rho}$(resistivity)-constant are simulated, respectively. The length of a horizontal ground electrode is 30 m and simulations were performed at 10, 100, $1000{\Omega}{\cdot}m$ with the standard lightning current waveform. In result, the transient potential rise of horizontal ground electrode calculating with Debye's equation is lower than it of other models.
The magnetic properties of the amorphous Fe/sub 32/Ni/sub 36/Cr/sub 14/P/sub 12/B/sub 6/ has been studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy in the temperature range of 88-400K. The analysis of the spectrum of B8K, the magnetic hyperfine field and quadrupole splitting are found to be 140.5kOe and almost zero, which means that the magnetic hyperfine field is randomly oriented with respect to the principal axes of the electric field gradient, respectively. The values of quadrupole splitting in paramagnetic phase with Tc=280K are independent on the changes of temperature. Debye temperature is found to be about 288k from the analysis of recoilless fraction.
On the basis of the principle of Bratch's electronegativity equalization, we calculated group partial charges and group electronegativities for nonionic surfactants with Pauling's elecoonegativity parameters by using numerical calculation method. From calculated outputs we have investigated structural stability of micelle, characteristics of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups, and relation between CMC(Critical Micelle Concentraion) and group partial charge and group electronegativity of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups for nonionic surfactants. We have known that CMC by micelle formation depends upon group partial charge and group electronegativity of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups for surfactants. Also, the structural stability of micelle in H2O solution is related to the electric double layer by the hydrophilic group of nonionic surfactants with H atoms in water CMC is diminished by the decrease of repeating units in hydrophilic group at constant hydrophobic group and is diminished by the increments of alkyl chains in hydrophobic group at constant hydrophilic group for nonionic surfactants. In conclusion, CMC is diminished because there is no electrostatic repulsion and is diminished of Debye length by the increments of partial charge of hydrophobic group.
The electric conductances of dilute solutions of alkali chlorides (LiCi, NaCl, KCl, RbCl, CsCl) in a series of acetone-water and formic acid-water mixtures were determined respectively at $^30{\circ}C$. The results of the conductances of alkali chlorides in acetone-water mixtures were analysed by the Debye-Huckel-Onsager equation and the variations of limiting equivalent conductances with the compositions of acetone-water mixtures were explained in terms of selective solvation of electrolytes. The conductances of dilute solutions of alkali chlorides in formic acid-water could not be analysed because of the strong ionic atmosphere of solvent itself.

A new ground penetrating radar imaging method for the estimation of buried artificial structures location and their approximate shapes in dispersive lossy ground is investigated. Fundamental idea is based on estimating delayed time and amplitude retrieval coefficients from scattered signals by buried scatterers. Using absolute value integration of each scanning site not only improve the accuracy of measured scattered signal, but also offers convenient ways to extract the image of buried structures. Multi-term Debye model was employed to describe a dispersive and lossy ground medium. We used the finite difference time domain method to discretize the wave equation in continuous form into the machine suitable form. This imaging method uses a new wave path tracing technique in time domain, which is helpful to identify the exact position of buried structures against the ground surface fluctuations.
