새로운 디버링 공구를 이용한 드릴링 버의 효율적 제거를 위한 가공조건 선정 (Determination of Cutting Conditions for an Efficient Deburring Process Using a New Deburring Tool)

  • For efficient deburring of burrs that form inside mechanical parts after drilling, new special deburring tool was developed specifically for the burr found at intersecting holes. In this paper, the process for finding ideal cutting conditions has been carried out to identify the efficient performance of deburring using a new tool. The burrs at the entrance and exit surface were analyzed for efficient removal. The surface roughness after deburring was also reviewed for better performance. In addition, the influence of the feed rate on deburring quality was analyzed for improved productivity. Through this process, a new deburring tool can be applied effectively to remove burrs formed at intersecting holes.

NC Program Generation Using Off-Line Teaching of Deburring Path

  • Die-casting burr to casting process is removed by post-process for assembly and quality control of product. Though robot has been widely used for deburring job before. CNC exclusive machine is currently developed for high power, high speed machining and quick tool change. Deburring tool path with complex 3D curve type is defined to make out deburring NC program. But there is no efficient method to define it currently used methods with teaching probe on machine. In this study the efficient method to make out deburring NC program is developed. 5-axis digitizing machine is used to receive data of deburring path. And the post process for NC program generation is developed in consideration of the machining conditions. The developed system is not dependent on the skill of operator and has the advantage to maintain the flexibility of job to modify NC program due to the wear of tool and aging of the die casting.

교차구멍 에서의 디버링 (Deburring of Intersection Holes)

  • A new design for deburring tools for intersecting holes is introduced. The tool tip is mounted on a slender cantilever assembled into a circular shank. The tool tip has been design to cover ranges of exit angle and diameter ratio between intersecting holes. The design is an improvement over the previous ones by the authors. Experiments have been performed on AL6061. With the new design, mild exit burrs with exit angles greater than 45$^{\circ}$ are successfully removed. For large burrs with smaller exit angles, however, the deburring could be incomplete.

  • In recent years, automated process technology has allowed for the rapid manufacturing of metal parts. Maintaining high product quality is of vital importance during the production of these parts. Surface defects occurring after processing can compromise their assembly precision and performance. In this study, a deburring tool was developed that can remove burrs generated from drilling. Through the evaluation of processing, burrs were completely removed at entrance and exit surfaces. Therefore, this newly developed deburring tool shows better performance than deburring tools currently in use.

  • Burr is an unavoidable and undesirable by-product of most metal cutting or shearing operations. This burr must be removed to improve the fit of machined parts and safety of workers, to improve the effectiveness of finishing operations. Despite the full or partial automation of FMC or FMS, deburring operations to obtain workpiece with fine surface quality are difficult to be automated since the occurrence and condition of burr are not constant. This study focused on developing a software for deburring automation, which includes automatic recognition of parts, generation of deburring tool path and NC code, by analyzing the IGES format file which contains information of part geometry. The successful performance of developed software was demonstrated by computer simulation and deburring experiment using miniature end brush. And, this research can provide a basis for further advanced studies for automated deburring applications.

  • This paper encompasses a general technology in robot deburring automation using solid rotaing burr tools. Deburring is a cumbersome area in finishing technology, where design concept and system implementation is based on knowhows and experiences rather then theoretical development. In the field engineering it is diffcult to find a clue to where and how to start the system design. This paper presents a guide inselection of tool concept of geometry and material. Also, the concept of tool compliance system is introduced, which is one of the most important factor in robot deburring. Typical problems encountered in the field are classified into 20 categories and the solutions are suggested by the proven technology from the expertise. Special problems in polymer and diecasting areas are also briefly mentioned.
