The aim of this study was to analyze the levels of learners' participation and interactions both quantitatively and qualitatively based on the learners' choices of topic patterns in a process of online debate of a general subject and to explore the effects in order to suggest the ways for activating online debates. For this, it quantitatively analyzed the messages and the patterns in the online debate boards and supplementally implemented a post survey in order to investigate the participants' recognition on the factors of the learners' interactions and the effects. The given topic patterns were 'the presentation of one's opinion' and 'the presentation of pros and cons.' As a result of the analysis, the participating degree was higher in the pattern of 'the presentation of one's opinion' apart from the previous study. This study surveyed and, based on the result, it proposed the teachers should refer to the participants' tendency in advance. Also, it presented the deeper meanings on the interactions extracted by the results of the survey. The learners showed the strong dependence on the teacher' lectures or his materials and a variety of interactions with diverse objects. Besides, it is revealed that debates are helpful factors for enhancing learners' argumentative thinking, writing skills, and the knowledge about the subject in terms of the participants' recognition. Based on the findings, this study emphasized the teachers' educational roles and suggested the educational effects of the online debates in each class should be activated in this era of distance education.

This study aims to serve as a critical comparison of the currently controversial 'new cold war' discourse. It took three triggers for the 'new cold war' discourse to emerge as a major issue in the media and academia and to have real political impact. With the launch of China's 'Belt and Road' project and Russia's annexation of Crimea leading to the 'Ukraine crisis,' the 'new cold war' discourse has begun to take shape. Trump's U.S.-China trade spat has brought the 'new cold war' debate to the forefront. The 'new cold war' debate is currently being intensified by the Biden administration's framing of "democracy versus authoritarianism" and Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Currently, there is no consensus among scholars on whether the controversial 'new cold war' is a new version, or a continuation of the historically defined concept of the Cold War. The term 'New Cold War' is less of an analytical concept and more of a topical term that has yet to achieve analytical status, let alone a theoretical validation and systematization, and the related debate remains at the level of assertion or discourse. Through this comparative analysis, I will argue that the ongoing discourse of the 'New Cold War' does not have the instrumental explanatory power to analyze the transitional phenomena of the world order today.

The purpose of this study was to review the technological deterministic debate that the development of household technology would decrease housework. For the purpose this study made use of all sorts of literature and the interview resources obtained from 86 housewives above 30 years old. It was expected the household capital goods would save housework time and labor. The total time spent in housework and fatigue however seemed not much lessened during the diffusion period. Household capital goods were also expected to enhace the housework satisfaction and increase much housework participation of husband and children; yet neither of them appeared much high during the diffusion period.

Bronchial Adenomas are rare entity among the primary bronchopulmonary neoplasms. But they have received attention because of debate on their malignant nature, prognosis, and mode of therapy. We have four carcinoids and two cylindromas from Jan. 1972 to Jun. 1983. Operations include two pneumonectomies two lobectomies and one bilobectomy. In one cylindroma, resection was impossible due to its invasion into mediastinum and pericardium. There were no hospital deaths.

Infinity is very important concept in mathematics. In history of mathematics, potential infinity concept conflicts with actual infinity concept for a long time. It is reason that actual infinity concept causes difficulty in our perceptions. This phenomenon is called epistemological obstacle by Brousseau. So, in this paper, we examine the infinity in terms of mathematical didactics. First, we examine the history of development of infinity and reveal the similarity between the history of debate about infinity and episternological obstacle of students. Next, we investigate obstacle of students about infinity and the contents of curriculum which treat the infinity Finally, we suggest the methods for overcoming obstacle in learning of infinity concept.

The role of atypical bacterial infection in the pathogenesis of asthma is a subject of continuing debate. There is an increasing body of literature concerning the association between the atypical bacteria such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. pneumoniae) and asthma pathogenesis. Moreover, many studies investigating such a link have been uncontrolled and have provided conflicting evidence, in part due to the difficulty in accurately diagnosing infection with these atypical pathogens. This manuscript will review the relationship between M. pneumoniae infection and asthma pathogenesis.

I provide an observer's view on the recent BICEP2 results. I begin with giving background information on the instrument and CMB polarization measurements. Based on a survey of the current debate, I will provide an overview on the conclusions to be drawn from the BICEP2 measurements which are actually mixed: on the hand, there is no doubt that the results are very important and exciting; on the other hand, it is probably premature to conclude that the observed signal is indeed cosmological.

We examine whether the attributes of patented knowledge have any impact on its chances of commercialization. It has been hypothesized that the scope and cumulativeness of patented knowledge would positively affect the likelihood of its commercialization. The hypotheses were tested using patents data on the US biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. We found support for the prediction that the scope of patented knowledge increases the likelihood of commercialization, but we didn't find support for the cumulativeness aspect. These findings have important implications for firms that develop patentable knowledge, license-out patents, license-in patents from external sources, or debate about patenting strategy.

이 연구는 독서토론수업이 교육환경에서 실제 당면하고 있는 문제를 파악하고, 학습자가 독서 정보바탕의 토론활동을 하는 독서토론 모형을 개발하여 제안하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 연구자와 현장 전문가의 협력을 통해 현실적 문제를 해결하는 설계기반 연구를 활용하여 논제 구축형 독서토론수업 모형을 개발하였다. 연구의 대상은 초등학교 4학년이었으며, 모형의 완성을 위해 16차시의 수업을 진행하고 양적 연구와 질적 연구, 전문가 검토를 반복하는 형성적 순환을 실시하였다.
