By managing not only geographical information but also various kinds of attribute data. GIS presents useful information for decision-makings. Most of decision-making problems using GIS can be formulated into network-optimization problems. In this study we deal with the implementation of network optimization system that extracts data from the database in GIS. solves a network optimization problem and present optimal solutions through GIS' graphical user interface. We design a nitwork optimization system and present some implementation techniques by showing a prototype of the network optimization system. Our network optimization system consists of three components : the interface module for user and GIS the basic network the program module the advanced network optimization program module. To handle large-scale networks the program module including various techniques for large sparse networks is also considered, For the implementation of the network optimization system we consider two approaches : the method using script languages supported by GIS and the method using client tools of GIS. Finally some execution results displayed by the prototype version of network optimization system are given.

This paper deals with the development of a software module for production planning and scheduling activities of an existing Flexible Machining and Assembly System (FMAS). The Production Planning Module uses the hierarchical and sequential scheme based on "divide and conquer" philosophy. In this module, routes are determined based on the production order, orders are screened, tools are allocated, and order adjustments are executed according to the allocated tools. The Scheduling Module allocates the resources, determines the task priority and the start and completion times of tasks. Re-scheduling can be done to handle unforeseen situations such as lumpy demands and machine breakdowns. Since all modules are integrated with a central database and they interface independently, it is easy to append new modules or update the existing modules. The result of this study is used for operating the real FMAS consisting of a machining cell with 2 domestic NC machines and a part feeding robot, an assembly cell with a conveyor and 3 robots, an inspection cell, an AGV, an AS/RS, and a central control computer.

This paper describes the system development for the Ground Control Point collection and management through the major coastline region in KOREA, which will collect and manage the ground control point based on high resolution satellite image database. The module of this system is following 1) GCP/Coarstline research plan module 2) GCP/Coarstline ground collection module 3) GCP/Coarstline post processing module Our team developed the core components of ‘High Resolution Satellite Image Processing Technique’ project, and this system, among applications of our project, is constructed to apply to practical use. In this application, you will also see how to apply core components of our project.

This study discusses Korean speech database that has been designed and constructed for common use, especially focusing on designing a list of words or sentences that covers various phonological environments. As the results, PBW(Phonetically Balanced words) and PBS(Phonetically Balanced Sentences) was selected from balanced text corpus using maximum entropy method. And, implemented workbench for spoken language data acquisition is presented in this paper. The workbench consists of grapheme to phoneme converter, utterance list selection module, speech data editing module, multi-layer labelling module, and phoneme context search module.

The PMGS(Plant Model Generating System) was developed based on modular modeling method and fluid network calculation concept. Fluid network calculation is used as a method of real-time computation of fluid network, and the module which has a topology with node and branch is defined to take advantages of modular modeling. Also, the database which have a shared memory as an instance is designed to manage simulation data in real-time. The applicability of the PMGS was examined implementing the HRSG(Heat Recovery Steam Generator) control logic on DCS.

국토개발에 따른 자연 재해가 많아지고 있으며, 특히 홍수에 의한 피해가 나날이 증대되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 국민의 안전과 복리를 증진하고 홍수에 의한 피해를 최소화할 수 있는 방안의 대책이 시급하다. 선진국에서는 홍수관리 및 효율적인 재난관리를 위하여 홍수위험지도를 제작 배포하여 홍수에 대한 지역 주민의 경각심을 고취하고, 홍수재난 관리 등에 널리 활용하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 수문 모형과 입력 데이터의 연계를 바탕으로 홍수침수범위의 예측과 함께 결과물의 도식를 위한 홍수위험지도 관리시스템 프로토타입의 개발에 있다. 효율적인 시스템 개발을 위하여 사용자 요구분석을 통하여 종이지도형태의 홍수위험지도 및 관리시스템을 설계하였다. 본 연구와 병행으로 진행된 하천정보표준화 연구치 결과를 바탕으로 GIS 데이터베이스를 설계하였으며, 연구 대상 지역의 GIS 데이터베이스구축을 통하여 수리 수문 모델링을 위한 효율적인 지형정보의 구축방안을 제시하였다. 개발된 홍수위험지도 관리시스템은 하천정보 검색 모듈, 수리 수문 모델링 지원 모듈, 홍수위험지도 출력 모듈로 구성되었다. 각 모듈은 GIS 데이터베이스를 이용하여 도형 및 속성의 검색, 수리 수문 모델링의 분석 및 결과의 도식화 등을 지원할 수 있도록 개발되었다.

In recent years, medical procedures have become more complex, while financial pressures for shortened hospital stays and increased efficiency in patient care have increased. As a result, several shortcomings of present film-based systems for managing medical images have become apparent. Maintaining film space is labor intensive and consumes valuable space. Because only single copies of radiological examinations exist, they are prone to being lost or misplaced, thereby consuming additional valuable time and expense. In this paper, MINI-PACS for image archiving, transmission, and viewing offers a solution to these problems. Proposed MINI-PACS consists of mainly four parts such as Web Module, Client-Server Module, Internal Module, Acquisition Module. In addition, MINI-PACS system includes DICOM Converter that Non-DICOM file format converts standard file format. In Client-Server Module case, Proposed system is combined both SCU(Service Class User: Client) part and SCP(Service Class Provider: Server)part therefore this system provides the high resolution image processing techniques based on windows platform. Because general PACS system is too expensive for Medium and Small hospitals to install and operate the full-PACS. Also, we constructed Web Module for database connection through the WWW.

This paper describes a computer aided design system for spur and helical gears. To establish the appropriate program, an integrate approach based on a rule-base system was adopted. This system is implemented on the personal computer and its environment is a commercial CAD package called AutoCAD. This system includes a main program and five sub-modules such as data input module, tooth profile drawing module, strength calculation module, and drawing edit module. In the main program, all the sub-modules are loaded and the type of gear and tooth profile are selected. In the data input module, the variables which are necessary to the design of gear are selected from the database. In the drawing module, from the calculated results, the required gear tooth is produced on the screen. The developed system that aids gear designer provides powerful capabilities for gear design.

This paper describes the database for wire cutting electrodischarge conditions and variable taper wire-cut Machining. Electodischarge wire-cut machining is applicable to all materials that are fairly good electrical conductors, including metals, alloys, and most carbides. Thus it provides a relatively simple method for making holes of any desired cross section in materials that are too hard or brittle to be machined by most other methods. In conventional wire cutting CAM systems usually generate the NC code omitting electrodischarge conditions, so operator edits the NC code manually. But it is very inefficient. Therefore in this paper we propose a wire cutting CAM system including database for electrodischarge conditions. Proposed system consists of three steps: 1) Development of database for electrodischarge conditions 2) Development of CAM functions, Including 2D CAD modeling tools, file I/O functions, wire path genera tion functions and postprocessor. 3) Development of variable taper wire-cut machining module. The proposed system has been tested in the JinYoung precision Machine Co.,LTD. and found to be working satisfactorily.
