Development of Mobile Application for Preventive Management based on Korean Medicine: Mibyeongbogam (한의학 기반 예방관리를 위한 모바일 어플리케이션 개발: 미병보감)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to develop mobile a application that evaluate the Mibyeong(deterioration of the health) in daily life and provide optimal Yangseng(養生) interventions according to the Korean medicine types. Methods The evaluation of Mibyeong utilized questionnaire or objective informations including Facial photographs and hemodynamic information. The Korean medicine type classification was reconstructed based on the concept of Sasang constitution and cold-heat pattern identification. Yangseng interventions were recommended based on Mibyeong symptoms, Korean medicine types, and demographic information. And we have developed tracking and ranking functions for user motivations. We used a Korean medicine database that focused on healthy people as a reference data, and used Yangseng interventions database that reinterpreted classical Yangseng in a modern way. Results and Conclusions We have developed a mobile application that evaluates the user's Mibyeong state and provides optimal Yangseng interventions based on Korean medicine types. This study are expected to improve the quality of health and contribute to the prevention of diseases.

A Study on the application and the nature of design information (디자인정보의 특성과 이의 활용에 관한 연구)

  • With the change of design environment, the aquisition and application of appropriate information are regarded as greatly important, especially in the product development process for the next generation. It will be important that aquired information be transformed and applied to design information. With this framework, features of design information and its application were studied in this paper. First, the interrelationship of design and information was analyzed. Second, effective methods to collect various design information were classified and several guidelines with which to apply these methods were suggested. Third, the role of design information in the rapid development of computer, information and internet technology was analyzed and several recommendations were suggested. Finally, the information database for trend analysis, based on computer and internet technology was developed and its application was studied in order to show an example of the collection and application of design information.

  • During the past few years, the productivity has been considered as one of the most important aims in developing softwares. Many practitioners and theorists are trying reuse ready made codes to increase the productivity of software development and the quality of their products. This paper introduces our experiences in developing a highly reusable class library and its reusing environment for building a database interface application. And the concepts, Structured Multi-Library and Dual Views of Class Inheritance, are also suggested, which consist our main conceptual framework in our work. Details in implementation are discussed in brief at the end.

  • The e-Logistics means the virtual business activity and service architecture among the logistics companies based on the Internet technology. The management of vehicles' location in most conventional vehicle tracking system has some critical defects when it deals with data which are continuously changed. It means the conventional vehicle tracking system based on the conventional database is unable eventually to cope with the environment that should manage the frequently changed location of vehicles. The important things in the evaluation of the vehicle tracking system is to determine the threshold of cost of database ,update period and communication period between vehicles and the system. In other words, the difference between the reallocation of vehicle and the data in database can evaluate the overall performance of vehicle tracking systems. Most of the previous works considers only the information that is valid at the current time, and is hard to manage efficiently the past and future information. To overcome this problem, the efforts on moving objects management system(MOMS) and uncertainty processing have been started from a few years ago. In this paper, we propose an uncertainty processing model and system implementation of moving object that tracks the location of the vehicles. We adopted both linear-interpolation method and trigonometric function to chase up the location of vehicles for the past time as well as future time, respectively. We also explain the comprehensive examples of MOMS and uncertainty processing in parcel application that is one of major application of e-Logistics domain.

Construction and Application of Nursing Information System Using NANDA-NOC-NIC Linkage in Medical-Surgical Nursing Units (간호진단-간호결과-간호중재 연계를 이용한 내외과계 간호단위 간호정보시스템 구축 및 적용)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct, develop, and apply a nursing information system (NIS) using NANDA-NOC-NIC linkage in medical-surgical nursing units. Methods: This study consisted of three phases which were the construction of the database, development of the NIS, and application of the NIS. To construct the database, a questionnaire and nursing record review by an expert group were used. Collected data were analyzed by the SPSS/WIN 13.0 program. Results: In first phase, the database was made up of 50 nursing diagnoses, 127 nursing outcomes and 300 nursing interventions. In the second phase, NIS was developed according to its flow diagram and then tested. In the third phase, the developed NIS was applied to 130 inpatients. Nursing diagnoses frequently used were acute pain, delayed surgical recovery, and deficient knowledge (specify). Nursing outcomes for a nursing diagnosis of 'acute pain' were identified as pain control, pain level and comfort level. Nursing interventions for the nursing outcome 'pain control' were pain management, patient controlled analgesia assistance and medication management. Conclusion: The results of this study will facilitate the use of the newly proposed NIS in nursing practice and provide a guideline for evidence-based nursing.

  • According to the evolution of the Internet and wireless mobile communication technology, techniques for mobile databases and wireless web services are issued for them. Recently, these changes of geographic application environment increase the needs for development of new GIS database system for the web services and embedded system. In this paper, we proposed a Jana-based web database systems that can be used in the web-based GIS and mobile databases. This proposed system has been implemented using the Java to be displayed easily into the portable computing devices and Java-based web application servers and using OpenGIS for web data interoperability. Also, it can efficiently process web-based spatial queries by developing a spatial query processor including schema manager and a spatial object storage module.

  • As the marine transportation has increased, the safe maneuvering system has been required. SOLAS obligated regulations for carrying AIS(Automatic Identification System) onboard. This system provides navigational information including identification, classification, position, a ship's course and voyage status from own vessel to ground and other vessels. Being utilized in the most development of application service for safe maneuvering, they are to be managed systematic. In this paper, we introduce a database system to manage the voyage status and navigational information of AIS message. It is classified by static or dynamic. An electronic navigational chart display system is implemented to verify the design.

Development of the Contingency Analysis Program of Korean Energy Management System (한국형 에너지 관리시스템용 상정고장 해석프로그램 개발)

  • This paper describes the development of robust contingency analysis program for Korean Energy Management System. The important function of contingency analysis is to determine the bus/branch model for contingency, and to calculate the state of the power network based on the network model and topology output. In the proposed method, the bus/branch models for contingencies are determined exactly using a fast linked-list method based on the application common model database. To calculate the state of the power system included contingency, the full-decoupled powerflow approach, the partial powerflow method for contingencies and the proposed contingency screening algorithm are also used to contingency analysis. To verify the performance of the developed processor, we performed a file-based test using several structured input data and online test using the database which resides on memory. The results of these comprehensive tests showed that the developed processors can accurately calculate the power system contingency state from online data and can be applied to Korea Power Exchange system.

  • EJB, providing specification for development and deployment of component based application, permits distributed development as central element of J2EE environment that manages automatically transaction management, persistence, concurrency control that are the most complicated work in enterprise environment. In this paper, we wish to resolve DAO's transaction logic complexity and performance reduction of system in the EJB based legacy system. Therefore, this paper describes the design and implementation of IDAO that applies Iterator pattern. IDAO gets effect that reduces complexity of transaction logic, system overload by database connection, and reduction of performance through container managed transaction.
