This paper introduces an adaptive wavelet transform based on the lifting scheme, which is applied to signal denoising. The wavelet representation using orthogonal wavelet bases has received widespread attention. Recently the lifting scheme has been developed for the construction of biorthogonal wavelets in the spatial domain. Wavelet transforms are performed through three stages: the first stage or Lazy wavelet splits the data into two subsets, even and odd, the second stage calculates the wavelet coefficients (highpass) as the failure to interpolate or predict the odd set using the even, and the third stage updates the even set using neighboring odd points (wavelet coefficients) to compute the scaling function coefficients (lowpass). In this paper, we adaptively find some of the prediction coefficients for better representation of signals and this customizes wavelet transforms to provide an efficient framework for denoising. Special care has been given to the boundaries, where we design a set of different prediction coefficients to reduce the prediction error.

Binding interactions of cationic porphyrins, T4MPyP and TMAP with DNA oligomer d(CGCGAATTCGCG), were studied with NMR spectroscopy, W and CD spectroscopic method. Two porphyrins showed significant differences in NMR, UV and CD data upon binding to DNA. T4MPyP was considered to position more closely to DNA bases through partial intercalation as well as ionic intercalation between the positive charges of porphyrin and phosphate group of DNA at 5’-GC-3’steps. Contrast to this, TMAP was thought to bind to phosphate of DNA more or less outside of the groove.

전자상거래를 위한 XML 및 관련 표준은 기존의 표준을 개선하거나 새로운 표준이 워킹 드래프트로 제안되고 있는 등 계속적으로 발전되고 있다. XML이 전자상거래에서 표준화된 문서로써 사용됨에 따라 XML문선의 효율적인 작성과 유지관리를 위해 다양한 XML에디터들이 개발되고 있다. 하지만 기존 에디터들의 경우, XML문서의 유효성만 체크하면서 단순한 편지기능만을 제공해 주고 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 실제 XML문서를 파싱하여 데이터베이스에 저장하고 자신이 원하는 쿼리(query)를 보냄으로써 그 결과를 XML문서로 변환하여 보여주는 기능을 구현하였다. 이는 전자 상거래 뿐만 아니라 동종 업계만의 전자 문서 교환에 있어 주고 받는 XML문서를 특별히 따로 처리할 필요 없이 원한다면 바로 자신의 데이터베이스로 파싱하여 넣거나, 필요한 부분을 기존의 데이터베이스에서 쿼리하여 이를 XML문서로 변환하여 주고 받는데 용이하게 이용될 수 있다.

Valuation of intangible assets has been discussed for the purpose of transaction of a technology and investment based on intangible assets as well. Practical techniques, however, have rut been developed for valuation of automated, electronic data bases as specialized knowledge information contents. This study will summarize general intangible valuation approaches and special considerations in contents valuation, and present examples of the application of approaches to illustrative contents valuation analysis.

The governing equation of flow in porous media is developed on the bases of the continuity equation of fluid for transient flow through a saturated-unsaturated zone, and substitution of Darcy's law. The numerical solutions are obtained by finite element method based on the Galerkin principles weighted residuals. The analysis are carried out by using the unsteady storm data observed and rainfall intensities which are obtained by using the rainfall excess model in considering of the initial losses. The functional relationships between the hydraulic conductivity, capillary pressure head and volumetric water content are applied to the flow of water through unsaturated soil varied with changes of water content.

As the results the hydraulic conductivities, rates of change of storage and initial moisture conditions are significantly influened on the responses of subsurface flow on a hillslope.

Four copper(II) complexes have been prepared using macrocyclic ligands. The macrocyclic ligands have been synthesized by the condensation reaction of diethyl phthalate with Schiff bases derived from o-phenylene diamine and Knoevenagel condensed ${\beta}-ketoanilides$ (obtained by the condensation of acetoacetanilide and substituted benzaldehydes). The ligands and copper complexes have been characterized on the basis of Microanalytical, Mass, UV-Vis., IR and CV spectral studies, as well as conductivity data. On the basis of spectral studies, a square-planar geometry for the copper complexes has been proposed. The in vitro antifungal activities of the compounds were tested against fungi such as Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus stolonifer, Aspergillus flavus, Rhizoctonia bataicola and Candida albicans. All the synthesized copper complexes showed stronger antifungal activities than free ligands. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of the copper complexes were found in the range of $8{\sim}28\;{\mu}g/ml$. These compounds represent a novel class of metal-based antifungal agents which provide opportunities for a large number of synthetic variations for modulation of the activities.

We studied the methods to utilize vehicle-based mobile mapping system for field investigation work of digital map generation process. Map layers which should be checked by field investigation were analyzed to find the possibility of being checked with data from vehicle-based mobile mapping system. Also new process for digital map generation were suggested to adopt field investigation by vehicle-based mobile mapping system. We performed field investigation work on the Kangneung area by vehicle-based mobile mapping on a trial bases and compared the results with a results from usual field investigation method.

The purpose of this study was to analyze strategic alliances in fashion business in Korea and to describe the trends of alliances. Fashion business was divided into textile manufacturers, apparel manufacturers, retailers, and service businesses. Alliance cases were collected from articles in various sources of periodicals searched from data bases. A total of 247 alliance cases in fashion business from January 2000 to August 2003 were analyzed. Cases were categorized into horizontal alliances among competitors in the same distribution channel and vertical alliances with partners in a different channel within the fashion business and into alliances with partners outside the fashion business. The study described the patterns of each of the vertical and horizontal alliances within and between textile manufacturers, apparel manufacturers. and retailers as well as the alliances with service businesses outside the fashion business.

This study focuses on apparel production and consumption trends in major Asian economies in order to understand a paradigm change in the Asian fashion industry. A comparison of trade among ASEAN, NICs, and developed countries shows the changes that have occurred in terms of production and consumption of fashion products before and after 2000 in Korea, Hong Kong, and China. The flow of imports and exports in the apparel industry was analyzed using UN trade statistics data. The results found a change of industry structures in Asian NICs and ASEAN countries. Garment production bases have moved to lower cost regions like China and ASEAN; in addition, NICs sent a part of their export business in the fashion industry to ASEAN countries. The Asian fashion industry has transformed from a production base for developed countries into a consumption market with the emergence of newly industrializing economies.
