멀티미디어 인터넷 전송을 위한 전송률 제어 요소의 신경회로망 모델링 (Modeling of Multimedia Internet Transmission Rate Control Factors Using Neural Networks)

  • As the Internet real-time multimedia applications increases, the bandwidth available to TCP connections is oppressed by the UDP traffic, result in the performance of overall system is extremely deteriorated. Therefore, developing a new transmission protocol is necessary. The TCP-friendly algorithm is an example satisfying this necessity. The TCP-Friendly Rate Control (TFRC) is an UDP-based protocol that controls the transmission rate that is based on the available round trip time (RTT) and the packet loss rate (PLR). In the data transmission processing, transmission rate is determined based on the conditions of the previous transmission period. If the one-step ahead predicted values of the control factors are available, the performance will be improved significantly. This paper proposes a prediction model of transmission rate control factors that will be used in the transmission rate control, which improves the performance of the networks. The model developed through this research is predicting one-step ahead variables of RTT and PLR. A multiplayer perceptron neural network is used as the prediction model and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used for the training. The values of RTT and PLR were collected using TFRC protocol in the real system. The obtained prediction model is validated using new data set and the results show that the obtained model predicts the factors accurately.

  • In this paper, we propose EWMA control charts using the life time data for the system with the constant failure rate, which were drawn from the fixed sampling interval without replacement (with replacement), and investigate the power of detection of EWMA by comparing ARL of EWMA control charts with one of Shewhart control charts.

  • The major concern of networked control system is network uncertainties such as time delay and data loss. Because these uncertainties may degrade the performance of networked control system and destabilize the entire system. Therefore, the performance and the stability variation of networked control system due to network uncertainties must be considered first in designing networked control system. In particular, the stability analysis of networked control system is most important issue since time delay and data loss can make the overall systems unstable. In this paper, we present a new stability analysis method of networked control system with time delay and data loss, which is impossible in previous works. The proposed method can determine maximum time delay and allowable transmission rate that preserve stability performance of networked control system. The results of the simulation validate effectiveness of our stability analysis method.

  • In a COMA system, the capacity is variable and mainly depends on multiple access interference. The multiple access interference has a deep relationship with transmitted or received power. The capacity of COMA2000 system is considered to be limited by the forward link capacity. In this paper, we show that the forward link cell load can be represented by the total transmitted power of base station and we propose a forward link call admission control (CAC) strategy for COMA2000 system. The proposed call admission scheme adopts the rate control algorithm for data call. This call admission scheme enables the system to utilize radio resource dynamically by controlling data rate according to the cell load status, and enhance the system throughput and grade of service (GoS). quality of service(QoS) such as blocking and outage probability.

  • This paper focuses on systematic design about the membership ranges of the main design factors such as control error, control error rate, and sampling time for the fuzzy logic control of the variable speed drive refrigeration cycle. The upper and the lowest limit of the membership ranges are set up from the data of static characteristics obtained by experiments. Three kinds of membership ranges on the control error and the control error rate are tested by experiments. Especially, an effect of sampling time on control performance is also investigated in the same way. Experimental data showed the control error rate and the sampling time strongly effected on the control performance of the refrigeration cycle with a variable speed drive.

  • 최근 네트워크 기술의 비약적인 발전으로 사용자가 이용할 수 있는 대역폭이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 대용량 고속 네트워크에서 보다 신속하고 안정적인 전송기법이 요구되고 있다. UDT(UDP based Data Transfer protocol)는 UDP 기반의 전송 프로토콜이며, 일정 SYN time마다 rate control을 진행함으로써 긴 RTT 환경에서 TCP 보다 두드러진 성능을 보인다. 하지만, NAK 발생시 고정적인 sendInterval의 증가와, 이전 시간의 RTT에 기반한 flow control로 인해 최적의 성능을 기대하기 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 실험에 의한 결과값을 바탕으로 NAK 수신시 RTT 구간에 따라 sendInterval을 조절하는 rate 제어기법을 제시한다. 또한 TCP vegas에 기반하여 네트워크 혼잡을 예측하는 향상된 flow 제어기법을 제시한다. 실제 Testbed를 구성하여 실험한 결과, 각각의 제안기법에 대해 약 20Mbps정도 향상된 throughput이 측정되었다. 또한, 두 기법을 혼합 적용한 결과에서는 최고 26Mbps의 성능 향상을 확인하였다.

  • In wireless sensor networks, increasing the sensing rate of each node to improve the data accuracy usually incurs a decrease of network lifetime. In this study, an energy-adaptive data compression scheme is proposed to efficiently control the sensing rate in an energy-harvesting wireless sensor network (WSN). In the proposed scheme, by utilizing the surplus energy effectively for the data compression, each node can increase the sensing rate without any rise of blackout time. Simulation result verifies that the proposed scheme gathers more amount of sensory data per unit time with lower number of blackout nodes than the other compression schemes for WSN.

  • The control modes used in teleoperation are position control mode, and rate control mode. This paper presents the problems of the conventional control modes, through simulation, proposes an intelligent mixed control mode that converts the operation mode between the position mode and the rate mode intelligently by judging the operator's intention using the real-time measurement data. The effectiveness of the proposed intelligent mixed control mode is demonstrated and compared to other typical control modes through simulation and actual experiment.

  • This paper propose a solution to resolve data overflow or leakage when a subscriber receive data to service provider. The set-top box can communicate with a service provider and can inform the service provider its data overflow or leakage. When service provider received this control signal, it changes data transmit rate and transmits data with changed rate. The buffer of set-top box is important because incoming data from a service provider are stored by it.
