  • In this paper, the states and the parameters in the dynamic system are simultaneously estimated by applying the UKF(Unscented Kalman Filter), which is widely used for estimating the state of non-linear systems. Estimating the parameter is very important in various fields, such as system control, modeling, analysis of performance, and prediction. Most of the dynamic systems which are dealt with in engineering have non-linearity as well as some noise. Therefore, the parameter estimation is difficult. This paper estimates the states and the parameters applying to the UKF, which is a non-linear filter and has strong noise. The augmented equation is used by including the addition of the parameter factors to the original state equation of the system. Moreover, it is simulated by applying to a 2-DOF(Degree of Freedom) dynamic system composed of the pendulum and the slide. The measurement noise of the dynamic equation is assumed to be a Gaussian distribution. As the simulation results show, the proposed parameter estimation performs better than the LSM(Least Square Method). Furthermore, the estimation errors and convergence time are within three percent and 0.1 second, respectively. Consequentially, the UKF is able to estimate the system states and the parameters for the system, despite having measurement data with noise.

  • Crystal structure of Bis(N-Methylphenazinium)-Tetracyanopalladate(II) hydrate has been determined by X-ray crystallography. Crystal data: $(C_{13}H_{11}N_2){_2}[Pd(cn)_4]{\cdot}H_2O$, Monocline, Space group $P2_1/b$(No=14), a=9.783(4), b=10.788(4), c=13.666(4) ${\AA},\;{\beta}=104.59(5),\;Z=2,\;V=1392.9{\AA}{^3},\;Dc=1.476gcm^{-3},\;F(000)=632,\;{\mu}=7.05cm^{-1}$. The structure was solved by Patterson method and refined by full matrix least-square methods using unit weights. The final R and S values were R=0.0257, Rw=0.0732, Rall=0.0283 and S=1.07 for 1930 observed reflections. Both cation and anion complexes are essentially planar and have dihedral angles of $10.16(4)^{\circ}$. The planar complex anions are sandwiched between slightly bent cations. The interplanar separations in one triad and between two triads are 3.419(3) and $3.402(4){\AA}$, respectively. The triads are stacked along b-axis.

  • Along with the recent advances of mobile internet technology, use of social network service(SNS) is very common among adolescents or college students in their daily lives. Although there have been a lot of studies on Internet addiction or mobile phone addiction, however, there were little research on SNS addiction so far. Scholars investigated somewhat broader and obscure phenomenon of Internet addiction. In this regard, the current study tried to examine factors which influence SNS addiction behavior. Unlike Internet addiction, there are positive influencing factors such socialization, enjoyment as well as problematic ones like loneliness. Data were collected from college students in Korea to examine how those factors influence addiction behavior and hypotheses were tested using the partial least square method. All three factors, socialization, enjoyment, and loneliness, were found to significantly influence SNS addiction and socialization was positively associated with enjoyment.

  • Technology is one of the major competitive advantages for small and medium enterprises (SME), especially ones operating in the manufacturing sector. Increasing technological capabilities is the basis for SME's business performance improvement. The main problem of SME's is a limitation in the areas of production facilities, technology, and human resources. Some of these constraints cause a decline in business performance and competitiveness of SME's. In this case analysis of technology components has to be carried out to determine the effect of technology on SME's business performance improvement. This study aims to measure the components of technology and to analyze the influence of each technology component on business performance of rattan processing SME's in South Kalimantan. The assessment is carried out on the technoware, humanware, inforware, and orgaware components using the technometric method (UNESCAP). Business performance is measured through a combination of financial and non-financial aspects deducted from financial and marketing figures. Analysis of the influence of technology components on business performance of SME's is done using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with Partial Least Square software (PLS). Data is collected through interviews and questionnaires from 21 rattan processing SME's in South Kalimantan that produce rattan furnitures. The results show that the value of the contribution of technology (TCC) to the performance of rattan processing SME's in South Kalimantan is still quite low. Analysis of the results shows a direct influence of technoware and humanware on business performance, while orgaware influences business performance indirectly through humanware.

  • Nowadays, many countries are interested in using CPS far navigation system of aircrafts, because it has technical and economic benefits. For the CPS based navigation system, the most important thing is reliability of the system. GPS navigation solution is very accurate. But when some faults are raised in the CPS navigation system of an aircraft, if they cannot be detected and alerts are not generated for pilots, the aircraft cannot be safe. So, I implemented an DGPS integrity monitoring system that detects faults of measurements and exclude the fault measurement from the satellite constellation used for calculating a navigation solution. This paper introduces 'the Least Square Residual Method' used to detect faults of measurements and the implemented real time integrity monitoring system using DGPS. To test the system, I operated the system under many different conditions. And from analysis of the data recorded, I could conclude that when the number of visible satellites was enough to detect faults, the system could detect the faults of measurements perfectly, isolate and exclude the fault measurement well. But for more reliable system, the measurement errors must be estimated more accurately and integrations of CPS and other instruments must be developed.

  • We performed a case-control study to investigate whether SNPs of CHIP might affect the development of IA in Chinese Han nationality. We believe we are the first to have screened IA patients for mutations in the CHIP gene to determine the association with these variants. The study group comprised 224 Chinese Han nationality patients with at least one intracranial aneurysm and 238 unrelated healthy Han nationality controls. Genomic DNA was isolated from blood leukocytes. The entire coding regions of CHIP were genotyped by PCR amplification and DNA sequencing. Differences in genotype and allele frequencies between patients and controls were tested by the chi-square method. Genotype and allele frequencies of the SNP rs116166850 was demonstrated to be in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. No significant difference in genotype or allele frequencies between case and control groups was detected at the SNP. Our data do not support the hypothesis of a major role for the CHIP gene in IA development in the Chinese Han population.

  • In order to solve problems in automatic quality inspection of tablet capsules, computation-efficient image processing technique, appropriate threshold setting, edge detection and segmentation methods are required. And since existing automatic system for quality inspection of tablet capsules is of very high cost, it needs to be reduced through the realization of low-price hardware system. This study suggests a technique that uses low-cost camera module to obtain image and inspects dents on tablet capsules and sorting them by applying TLS curve fitting technique and edge-based image segmentation. In order to assess the performance, the major classifications algorithm of PCA, ICA and SVM are used to evaluate training time, test time and accuracy for capsule image area and curve fitting edge data sets.

  • In this study, we introduce a new category of fuzzy inference systems based on information granulation to carry out the model identification of complex and nonlinear systems. Informally speaking, information granules are viewed as linked collections of objects (data, in particular) drawn together by the criteria of proximity, similarity, or functionality Granulation of information with the aid of Hard C-Means (HCM) clustering help determine the initial parameters of fuzzy model such as the initial apexes of the membership functions and the initial values of polynomial functions being used in the premise and consequence part of the fuzzy rules. And the initial parameters are tuned effectively with the aid of the genetic algorithms(GAs) and the least square method (LSM). An aggregate objective function with a weighting factor is also used in order to achieve a balance between performance of the fuzzy model. The proposed model is evaluated with using a numerical example and is contrasted with the performance of conventional fuzzy models in the literature.

  • Objectives: As in many low-income and middle-income countries, out-of-pocket (OOP) payments by patients or their families are a key healthcare financing mechanism in Bangladesh that leads to economic burdens for households. The objective of this study was to identify whether and to what extent socioeconomic, demographic, and behavioral factors of the population had an impact on OOP expenditures in Bangladesh. Methods: A total of 12 400 patients who had paid to receive any type of healthcare services within the previous 30 days were analyzed from the Bangladesh Household Income and Expenditure Survey data, 2010. We employed regression analysis for identify factors influencing OOP health expenditures using the ordinary least square method. Results: The mean total OOP healthcare expenditures was US dollar (USD) 27.66; while, the cost of medicines (USD 16.98) was the highest cost driver (61% of total OOP healthcare expenditure). In addition, this study identified age, sex, marital status, place of residence, and family wealth as significant factors associated with higher OOP healthcare expenditures. In contrary, unemployment and not receiving financial social benefits were inversely associated with OOP expenditures. Conclusions: The findings of this study can help decision-makers by clarifying the determinants of OOP, discussing the mechanisms driving these determinants, and there by underscoring the need to develop policy options for building stronger financial protection mechanisms. The government should consider devoting more resources to providing free or subsidized care. In parallel with government action, the development of other prudential and sustainable risk-pooling mechanisms may help attract enthusiastic subscribers to community-based health insurance schemes.

  • Since the least squares estimation is not appropriate when multicollinearity exists among the regressors of the linear regression model, the principal components regression is used to deal with the multicollinearity problem. This article suggests a new procedure for the selection of suitable principal components. The procedure is based on the condition index instead of the eigenvalue. The principal components corresponding to the indices are removed from the model if any condition indices are larger than the upper limit of the cutoff value. On the other hand, the corresponding principal components are included if any condition indices are smaller than the lower limit. The forward inclusion method is employed to select proper principal components if any condition indices are between the upper limit and the lower limit. The limits are obtained from the linear model which is constructed on the basis of the conjoint analysis. The procedure is evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation in terms of the mean square error of estimator. The simulation results indicate that the proposed procedure is superior to the existing methods.
