  • This paper proposes a bridge model for data exchange and service invocation between OPRoS and ROS platforms, shows the validity of the proposed model via applications, and compares the proposed model with the OPRoS platform and the ROS platform using performance measures such as data exchange time and service response time. The proposed model operates independently of OPRoS and ROS Platforms using its configuration file with mapping information among the OPRoS data/service port and the ROS topic/service. The configuration file makes easy connections between OPRoS data/service and ROS topic/service without changing the source code of the platform and components.

  • Recently, cutting-edge ICT technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, edge computing, and the Internet of Things have been applied in various fields to create new services and a new digital era. Along with these technological developments, various policies are being implemented in Korea to transform the country from a "Smart City" to a "Platform City". We can create new services and values by linking with the Smart City Integrated Platform and Smart Housing Platform. This paper defines a linkage scenario between a Smart Housing Platform and the Smart 119 Emergency Dispatch Support Service, one of the Smart City Safety Nets. We propose a data transmission protocol and a metadata schema for data exchange between the Smart Housing Platform and the Smart City Integrated Platform to provide the Smart 119 Emergency Dispatch Support Service.

  • The importance of data management for the efficient maintenance and operation of offshore structures is becoming increasingly important. This paper has discussed the data schema and business rules that standardize the data exchange between ship design, operation and maintenance. Technical documentation that meets the international standards of ShipDex and S1000D for exchanging the operation and management data in neutral or standard formats has been introduced into the life cycle management of ships. The schema of the data exchange is represented by XML (eXtensible Markup Language) and the lifecycle data is implemented by a structured document. Lifecycle data is represented as data modules defined by XML schema. Given the feasible data generation, an example of a technical document is introduced by a general XML authoring tool.

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology has been widely adopted in the construction industry. However, a challenge encountered in the operational phase is that building object data cannot be updated in real time. The concept of Digital Twin is to digitally simulate objects, environments, and processes in the real world, employing real-time monitoring, simulation, and prediction to achieve dynamic integration between the virtual and the real. This research considers an example related to indoor air quality for realizing the concept of Digital Twin and solving the problem that the digital twin platform cannot be updated in real time. In indoor air quality monitoring, the ventilation rate and the presence of occupants significantly affects carbon dioxide concentration. This study uses the indoor carbon dioxide concentration recommended by the Taiwan Environmental Protection Agency as a reference standard for air quality measurement, providing a solution to the aforementioned challenges. The research develops a digital twin platform using Unity, which seamlessly integrates BIM and IoT technology to realize and synchronize virtual and real environments. Deep learning techniques are applied to process camera images and real-time monitoring data from IoT sensors. The camera images are utilized to detect the entry and exit of individuals indoors, while monitoring data to understand environmental conditions. These data serve as a basis for calculating carbon dioxide concentration and determining the optimal indoor air exchange volume. This platform not only simulates the air quality of the environment but also aids space managers in decision-making to optimize indoor environments. It enables real-time monitoring and contributes to energy conservation.

  • This paper creates a standard node for acquiring sensor data from various industrial sensors (IoT/non-IoT) for the establishment of Smart Factory Digital Twin, and provides inter-compatible data by linking zones by group/process to secure data stability and to ensure the digital twin (Digital Twin) of Smart Factory. The process of the Zone Master platform contains interface specifications to define sensor objects and how sensor interactions between independent systems are performed and carries out individual policies for unique data exchange rules. The interface for execution control of the Zone Master Platform processor provides system management, declaration management for public-subscribe, object management for registering and communicating status information of sensor objects, ownership management for property ownership sharing, time management for data synchronization, and data distribution management for Route information on data exchange.

  • Social commerce, integration of social media and e-commerce, provides potential opportunities for consumers to talk about their ideas and exchange product-related information on online shopping platforms. Given the substantial prospects related to business opportunities and consumers' perceptions, this study explores the factors driving fulfillment of the psychological contract in social commerce platforms. This research proposes, examines, and proves a theoretical model for the post-purchase behavior of the consumers, through an empirical investigation of online questionnaire-based data, gathered from 367 consumers in a cross-sectional setting. Results show that the fulfillment of psychological contract, consumer loyalty, and affective commitment fully mediate the impact of consumer trust on platform and repurchase intention. The level of commitment toward the consumer by the platform is strongly related to the degree of consumer trust, which is reciprocated through re-purchase intentions. This study offers essential theoretical implications with regards to the social exchange theory, attribution theory, and an moderating effect of the platform empathy on consumers' trust-psychological contract fulfillment relationship. Likewise, this research has significant implications for practitioners and managers.

  • Recently, many researches are progressing to support the operation and maintenance works of vessels using analyzed result based on various information of equipment. The interfaces of communication equipment are standardized very well, but the interfaces of machinery and other parts are not standardized yet. For that reason, there has limitations for data exchange and management. To solve the problem, the ISO is establishing new standards which are ISO 19847 for shipboard data servers th share field data at sea and ISO 19848 for standard data for shipboard machinery and equipment. In this paper, we developed a data management platform for shipboard machinery equipment, and tested the field data exchanging using the developed platform based on the standards. To do this, we analyzed the requirements of the standards and related researches, and designed an architecture of shipboard data platform that satisfied the requirements. Also, we developed components of the designed platform architecture and verified the effectiveness for it.

  • Small satellites represent an emerging opportunity to realize a wide range of space missions at lower cost and faster delivery, compared to traditional spacecraft. However, small platforms, such as CubeSats, shall increase their actual capabilities. Miniaturized electric propulsion systems can provide the satellite with the key capability of moving in space. The level of readiness of miniaturized electric propulsion systems is low although many concepts have been developed. The present research intends to build a flexible test platform for the assessment of selected small propulsion systems in relevant environment at laboratory level. Main goal of the research is to analyze the mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and chemical interactions of propulsion systems with the modern CubeSat-technology and to assess the performance of the integrated platform. The test platform is a 6U CubeSat hosting electric propulsion systems, providing mechanical, electrical and data interfaces, able to handle a variety of electric propulsion systems, thanks to the ability to regulate and distribute electric power, to exchange data according to several protocols, and to provide different mechanical layouts. The test platform is ready to start the first verification campaign. The paper describes the detailed design of the platform and the main results of the AIV activities.
