Scheduling Performance Evaluation and Testing Functions of a Connection-Oriented Packet Switching Processor (연결지향형 패킷교환 처리기의 스케줄링 성능평가 및 시험 방안 연구)

  • In a connection-oriented packet switching network, the data communication starts after a virtual circuit is established between source and destination. The virtual circuit establishment time includes the queue waiting times in the direction from source to destination and the other way around. We use this two-way queueing delay to evaluate scheduling policies of a packet switching processor through simulation studies. In this letter, we also suggest user testing functions for the packet switching processor to manage virtual circuits. By detecting error causes, the user testing helps the packet switching processor provide reliable connection-oriented services.

Mirror-Switching Scheme for High-Speed Embedded Storage Systems (고속 임베디드 저장 시스템을 위한 복제전환 기법)

  • The flash memory has been remarked as the next generation media of portable and desktop computers' storage devices. Their features include non-volatility, low power consumption, and fast access time for read operations, which are sufficient to present flash memories as major data storage components for desktop and servers. The purpose of our study is to upgrade a traditional mirroring scheme based on SSD storages due to the relatively slow or freezing characteristics of write operations, as compared to fast read operations. For this work, we propose a new storage management scheme called Memory Mirror-Switching based on traditional mirroring scheme. Our Mirror-Switching scheme improves flash operation performance by switching write-workloads from flash memory to RAM and delaying write operations to avoid freezing. Our test results show that our scheme significantly reduces the write operation delay and storage freezing.

Switching between Spatial Modulation and Quadrature Spatial Modulation

  • Spatial modulation (SM) is the first proposed space modulation technique. By further utilizing the quadrature spatial dimension, quadrature spatial modulation (QSM) has been developed as an amendment to SM system to enhance the overall spectral efficiency. Both techniques are capable of entirely eliminating interchannel interference (ICI) at the receiver. In this paper, we propose a simple adaptive hybrid switching transmission scheme to obtain better system performance than SM and QSM systems under a fixed transmission date rate. The presented modulator selection criterion for switching between spatial modulator and quadrature spatial modulator is based on the larger received minimum distance of spatial modulator and quadrature spatial modulator to exploit the spatial channel freedom. It is shown through Monte Carlo simulations that the proposed hybrid SM and QSM switching system yields lower error performance than the conventional SM and QSM systems under the same fixed data rate and thus can provide signal to noise ratio (SNR) gain.

  • The aim of this study is to assess the impacts of service properties, price expectancy, social influences, and switching costs on adoption intention of 4G in Vietnam. The research model was established by the theory of diffusion of innovation, technology acceptance model, service quality, social influences and switching costs. The result from customers using telecommunication services in Vietnam shows that adoption intention of 4G is affected directly by perceived usefulness, personal innovativeness, price expectancy, social influences, prior service quality and switching costs. Whereas, switching costs have negative effect on adoption intention. Other factors such as personal innovativeness, perceived ease of use and prior service quality have an indirect effect on adoption intention of 4G.

Consumers' Motivations for Brand-Switching of Sport Shoes according to Their Age and Gender

  • The purpose of the study was to provide the basic information that is needed to build marketing strategies related to consumers' brand-switching, through investigation into sport shoe consumers' motivations for brand-switching, as determined by their age and gender. The study was implemented by means of a descriptive survey method using a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 534 consumers between the ages of 13 and 59, residing in the Seoul area. The survey for the study was conducted during the period of October 10 through December 5, in 2008. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's Test were employed for the analysis of data gathered. The results revealed that there are differences with regard to the degree that the functional/aesthetic factors of sport shoes contribute to the motivation for brand-switching, when assessed with respect to the age and gender of consumers. The contributory degrees of situational factors and social/emotional curiosity factors of consumers are also different with regard to the motivation for brand-switching behavior of sport shoe consumers in accordance with their age and gender. Therefore, marketing strategies related to brand-switching behavior will be more effective when they are differentiated according to the target age and gender, even with respect to the same type of product, such as sport shoes.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the effect of store satisfaction about fashion store and alternative store attraction on switching barrier perception and the moderating effect of variety seeking orientation. The questionnaire was administered to 450 women shopped in a department store in Gwan-ju during September, 12-26,2002. Data collected from 384 women were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA and t-test by SPSS for WIN program. The result were as follows. First, the store satisfaction significantly influenced switching barrier perception. Second, the alternative store attraction significantly influenced switching barrier perception. Third, interaction effect between store satisfaction and variety seeking orientation was found out to be meaningful at switching barrier perception. Fourth, interaction effect between alternative store attraction and variety seeking orientation was found out to be meaningful at switching barrier perception.

Price Sensitivity, Repurchasing and Switching Intention of Internet Fashion Consumers (인터넷 패션 소비자의 가격민감도와 재구매 및 전환의도에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the effects of website and consumer's characteristics on price sensitivity as well as the effects of price sensitivity on repurchasing and switching intention. It ascertains differences in: website and consumer's characteristics, price sensitivity, and repurchasing and switching intention according to type of internet shopping mall. A survey was conducted from July 10 to August 20 in 2013, and 492 responses were used for data analysis. As a result, the reputation, ease of price search, and depth of product information positively influenced the price search and the interactivity of website characteristics positively influenced price importance. Product knowledge and information search of fashion consumers positively influenced price sensitivity. Also, the price sensitivity of internet fashion consumer positively influenced repurchasing intention. The price search positively affected the switching intention, while the price importance negatively affected the switching intention. Last, there were significant differences in the reputation, ease of price search, information search, price sensitivity, repurchasing and switching intention according to type of internet shopping mall.

Analysis of Fashion Phenomenon in Casual Wear Market Applying Brand Switching Matrix (브랜드 전환 매트릭스를 적용한 캐주얼웨어 시장의 유행 현상 분석)

  • This study intended to construct the brand switching matrix in the Korean casual wear market and to analyze it in various aspects. 1,014 sample data were collected in Seoul area, a center of fashion retailing. Since the respondents cited over 200 brand names as their last 2 purchased casual wear brands, 15 most frequently-purchased brands were selected for constructing the brand switching matrix. As a result of the examination, it was founded that the brand loyalty was dominant rather than brand switching in the casual wear market. Polo was identified as the leading brand in the market. Its brand equity, which was comprised of brand recognition, brand preference (loyalty), perceived quality, and brand association, was evaluated very high. Especially, the strength of Polo was the consumer's strong preference and the brand image of simplicity, naturalness, and neatness. After combining 15 brands into 6 groups based on the style and price, additional interpretation was performed on this 'trend switching matrix.' A transition of fashion trend in casual wear was observed. Applying the brand switching matrix on fashion products gave us much insight to the market.

  • This paper presents a novel prototype of tile three-phase bridge power block module type a auxiliary resonant AC link snubber circuit, which is effectively used for the three-phase voltage source type sinewave soft switching PWM inverter using IGBTs. Its operating principle Is described for current source load model, along with its practical design approach based on the simulation data. The performance evaluation of the three-phase voltage source type snewave soft switching PWM inverter incorporating a single three-phase bridge mo여le of active auxiliary resonant AC link snubber treated here Is illustrated, which is concerned with power duality efficiency power loss analysis. This inverter is discussed as compared with those of tile three-phase voltage source type sinewave hard switching PWM inverter. The power loss analysis of this soft switching PWM Inverter using IGBT power modules is evaluated on the basis of the measured v-i characteristics and switching power losses of IGBT, and antiparaliel diodes. The practical effectiveness of this inverter is proven by the power loss analysis for distributed power supply.

  • This paper proposes the method to implement the railroad switching point heating system using the hybrid of the photovoltaic and wind power. The goal of the implementation of the railroad switching point heating system is to prevent freezing of the snow in the winter. The heating system of railway used to supply electricity through photovoltaic and wind power to prevent freezing. Hot wires of the railroad switching point heating system are used about 2kW of electric energy at the day. The electric energy of 2kW used the length of the hot wires about 3m. As the ON and/or OFF mode considering the tracks temperature and the ambient temperature, so the way the use of power-saving effect. In addition, the system can be used the railroad switching point heating system in winter and railway signal and street lights around the track in summer. In experiment, we acquired the power data according to time at the day of photovoltaic and wind power. We confirmed the temperature rise using the heating cable for 3m of $85^{\circ}C$, 30W/m. The temperature rise of the heating cable changes the temperature of $5^{\circ}C$ after 10 minutes and $11^{\circ}C$ after 10 minutes. We have confirmed the possibility of the railroad switching point heating system using the hybrid of the photovoltaic and wind power.
