  • DTV field tests have been performed to measure field strength and to check reception ratio on indoor and outdoor sites. They use an antenna of 9m to measure DTV signal in case of outdoor measurement on the road. Modern skyscrapers require the analysis of vertical-directional wave propagation by measuring vertical-directional DTV signal. Even if the field strength is above the reception threshold of $43dB{\mu}V/m$, the reception is impossible in case of strong multi-path or high impulse noise. So, vertical-directional field measurement is essential in environment of tall buildings. In this paper, we developed an octo type multi-copter to measure vertical-directional DTV signal level. A compact and portable DTV signal level meter, an antenna, a microwave transmitter for data transmission, and a recording equipment are equipped in the multi-copter. Three different sites are selected to test the measurement system. Developed measurement system using the multi-copter is very useful in measuring vertical-directional DTV signal, especially in apartments, non-accessible area by vehicles, and forbidden areas.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine what kinds of educational activities were carried out during the practice teaching based on CoRe and to identify the role of CoRe and its influence on the development of expertise of student teachers. This study was performed as qualitative case study. The subjects of this study were one practice supervisor teacher and two student teachers. Data were collected through recording CoRe discussion process, student teachers' instructional scene, and semi-constructed interview, and analyzed by an inductive method. Student teachers noticed their own misconceptions, and clarified the concepts based on CoRe during the discussion with supervisor teacher. They also supplemented their lack of knowledge and made up new strategies through the process of sharing their ideas. During the discussion, the supervisor teacher conveyed his teaching experience based on his own orientations toward science teaching. In this course, CoRe plays roles as follows. Firstly, CoRe played a role as guiding supervisor teacher's coaching process. Secondly, CoRe helped for the supervisor teacher to recognize their own PCK. Thirdly, CoRe served as a tool of helping their communication. In turn CoRe proved to be a useful frame for teaching student teachers during practice teaching. Student teachers were provided with a useful framework for preparing lessons by developing CoRe for the topic they teach. Developing CoRe with supervisor teacher at the planning stage of lessons enhenced student-teachers' subject matter knowledge and their PCK including knowledge of science curricula and knowledge of student's understanding of science. Also student teachers understood the components of PCK and experienced the positive understanding toward students, teaching activities, and themselves as a science teacher.

  • Purpose : To assess perceptual, acoustic and aerodynamic measure of voice quality in patients with unilateral vocal cord paralysis before and after type I thyroplasty. Methods : The clinical records of patients operated type I thyroplasty in the Departement of otorhinoalryngolgy, Yongdong Severance hospital from November 2001 to November 2003 were reviewed. All patients uderwent a vocal function evaluation including perceptual, acoustic and aerodynamic measures of voice preoperative and on $60^{th}$ postoperative day. The perceptual and acoustic measures were obtained from recording of patients' reading a 'Sanchak' passage. The perceptual evaluation was performed by 2 speech pathologist using a 4-point rating scale. Acoustic parameters(voice range profile low(RAL), voice range profile high(RAH), average fundamental frequency(AFX), closed quotient, harmonic to noise ratio, jitter and shimmer) were investigated by Lx speech studio. Mean flow rate(MFR), subglottic pressure(Psub) and intensity were measured using the Phonatory function analyzer. The maximum phonation time was also measured. The data were statistically analyzed. A paired t-test (p<0.1) was used to compare preoperative and postoperative results. And multiple regression test was used to find which parameter was most correlated to improvement of postoperative voice quality. Results : Among aerodynamic parameters, Psub $(88.11mmH_2O{\rightarrow}58.7mmH_2O)$, MPT(7.87sec${\rightarrow}$12.53sec), MFR (359.8ml/sec${\rightarrow}$161.06ml/sec) were statistically improved. AFx(205.5Hz${\rightarrow}$163.27Hz), AQx(23.9%${\rightarrow}$48.3%), RAL, RAH. Jotter and shimmer were improved. In multiple regression test, AFx and AQx was noted as the two meost correlated parameters to improvement of postoperative breathiness. But general grade of voice quality was more correlated to Psub and shimmer. Conclusion : Vocal fold medialization procedures effectively reduce glottic gap. Increasing of contact area of both vocal folds induced improvement in aerodynamic parameters and leaded stabilizing of vocal fold vibration. That effect results in improvement in acoustic parameters (shimmer, jitter, signal-to-noise ratio, voice range profile) and voice quality.

  • This study was conducted to estimate the genetic parameters of ${\beta}$-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA) and acetone concentration in milk by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy along with test-day milk production traits including fat %, protein % and milk yield based on monthly samples of milk obtained as part of a routine milk recording program in Korea. Additionally, the feasibility of using such data in the official dairy cattle breeding system for selection of cows with low susceptibility of ketosis was evaluated. A total of 57,190 monthly test-day records for parities 1, 2, and 3 of 7,895 cows with pedigree information were collected from April 2012 to August 2014 from herds enrolled in the Korea Animal Improvement Association. Multi-trait random regression models were separately applied to estimate genetic parameters of test-day records for each parity. The model included fixed herd test-day effects, calving age and season effects, and random regressions for additive genetic and permanent environmental effects. Abundance of variation of acetone may provide a more sensitive indication of ketosis than many zero observations in concentration of milk BHBA. Heritabilities of milk BHBA levels ranged from 0.04 to 0.17 with a mean of 0.09 for the interval between 4 and 305 days in milk during three lactations. The average heritabilities for milk acetone concentration were 0.29, 0.29, and 0.22 for parities 1, 2, and 3, respectively. There was no clear genetic association of the concentration of two ketone bodies with three test-day milk production traits, even if some correlations among breeding values of the test-day records in this study were observed. These results suggest that genetic selection for low susceptibility of ketosis in early lactation is possible. Further, it is desirable for the breeding scheme of dairy cattle to include the records of milk acetone rather than the records of milk BHBA.

  • The purpose of this study was to confirm how the students have responded to their class according to STEB (science teaching efficacy belief) of secondary science teacher in astronomy classes. Middle school teachers in charge of 'The Solar System' and 'The Exosphere and Space Development' in the 2009 Revision Science Curriculum content system is selected as an object of study through random sampling method. Twenty-nine teachers were taken STEB questionnaire and asked to make it out. Twenty-seven completed a questionnaire of them is selected for this study. In addition, the top and bottom 5% selected through frequency analysis with the total score from the questionnaire were regarded as high and low STEB teachers. For data collection, this study was used methods such as semi-structured interviews, recording, participant observation. The results were as follows: First, science teachers of high STEB had a high accessibility about excellent professional knowledge and content of the curriculum relating to astronomical field. Second, high STEB teachers were prepared by the appropriate teaching strategies adequate to student-centered learning, whereas the low STEB teachers totally have had teacher-centered learning. Third, high STEB teachers had been provided as the idea that you can take advantage of a variety of instruments, as well as scientific knowledge through the Astronomical Society. Therefore, confidence in astronomical class and teaching strategies through content of the curriculum were very important variables to predict the STEB as well as astronomy-related class activities such as astronomical observations.

  • Background: The XRCC1 (X-ray repair cross complimenting group-I) gene in BER (base excision repair) pathway is essential for DNA repair process. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with variations in the repair efficiency which might predispose individuals to development of various cancers. Two variants of XRCC1gene (at codon 399), Gln/Gln and Arg/Gln, have been shown to be related to lowered DNA repair capacity and increased genomic instability in multiple studies. Hence our investigation focused on genotyping these variants to correlate with other multiple risk factors in lung cancer (NSCLC) patients since we hypothesized that these variants of the XRCC1 gene might influence disease susceptibility. Materials and Methods: We examined the frequency of the polymorphism in one hundred cases and an almost equal number of controls after recording their demographics with a structured questionnaire. Genomic DNA from blood samples was extracted for PCR studies, followed by RFLP to determine the variants. The significance of the data was statistically analyzed. Results: The three genotypes in cases and controls were Arg/Arg (40% and 54.45%); Gln/Gln (19% and 9.90%), and Arg/Gln (41.0% and 35.64%) respectively. Among these 3 genotypes, we found Gln/Gln and Arg/Gln to show association with lung cancer. Correlating these genotypes with several parameters, we also found that these two variants were associated with risk in males (p<0.05) and with smoking habits (p<0.05). In females Arg/Gln genotype showed association with stage of the disease (p=0.04). This is the first report in South Indian scenario where Arg399Gln genotypes were found to be associated with stage of the disease in females. Conclusions: It is concluded that XRCC1 genotypes Gln/Gln and Arg/Gln may influence cancer susceptibility in patients with smoking habits and these functional SNPs in XRCC1 gene may act as attractive candidate biomarkers in lung cancer for diagnosis and prognosis.

Analyzes result that total 487 people respond in SPSS WIN 13.0 programs and got following sequence. Result of this study is as following. 1. Mans high school students had more students who do not than a drinking student and main current received most soju. Third-year student appeared by thing which receive a lot of soju than 1 or 2 class student but different other difference was not seen by class. 2. Mans high school students had more students who do not than a smoking student and a student who smoke more than 3 years was the most. I can know was old since third-year student smokes than 1 or 2 class student. 3. It was not difference that keep in mind by drinking, smoking availability although there were many students who recognize that all of the on-time dental medical examination, sugar intake limitation, fluorine inclusion toothpaste, teeth fluorine application are seldom effective on caries prevention. 4. Recognized that right brushing is effective relatively on caries prevention. I was shown difference that recognized that righter brushing is effective on bad tooth courtesy call than a student who a student who do not smoke does, and keeps in mind according to smoking availability ($x^2$=6.78, p<0.05). 5. I knew best about question of 'A caries may not treat if is painless' among that question ask knowledge for a caries, and appeared by thing which do not know best about question of 'Know that method that supply fluorine in water'. 6. A student who do not drink general dental know-how for a caries was high knowledge degree for a caries than a drunk student but it was no difference that keep in mind by drinking availability. Also, a student who do not smoke by smoking availability was high knowledge degree for a caries than a done student but difference that keep in mind statistically was not seen. 7. It was no difference that keep in mind by drinking availability, but a student who do not smoke by smoking availability was high relation knowledge degree with food and a caries than a smoked student, and I was shown difference that keep in mind according to smoking availability(t=-2.03, p<0.05). 8. Awareness and synthetic estimation degree of knowledge degree a student who do not smoke than a smoked student mouth knowledge degree high, and I was shown difference that keep in mind according to smoking availability(t=-2.03, p<0.05). • The study aims to find the characteristics of children's crossing behavior on crosswalk in school zones. It considers accident occurrence and physical form of school zones. Seven elementary school zones were investigated. Using data collected by field observation and video recording, statistical analysis, CHAID algorithm analysis, and pattern analysis were performed. As a result, it was found that children's waiting, attention and distraction were related to the accident occurrence. While 69.1% children showed waiting-before-crossing behavior in low-accident occurrence crosswalk, 83.6% children showed non waiting-before-crossing behavior in high-accident occurrence crosswalk. Moreover, the ratio of waiting, attention behavior was found to be higher when the width of the crosswalk was wide and the distance from the school's entrance to the crosswalk was long. These research findings showed that children's behavior-oriented approach was required to improve safety in school zone.

  • This study was performed to investigate the effects of occlusal appliance on the mandibular position and the mandibular rotational torque movement during speech. For this study, 20 patients with temporomandibular disorders(TMDs) and 20 normal subjects without any signs and symptoms in the masticatory system were selected as the patient group and as the normal group, respectively. Biopak $system^{(R)}$(Bioresearch Inc., Milwaukee, USA) and a sentence of 'Sue is missing her house' were used for recording and for observing of speech pattern. There were five mandibular positions observed in this study, that is, mandibular rest position, 'ssi', 'her', 'ha', and 's' speech position. In each position, slant and A-P distance in sagittal plane, vertical distance and lateral distance in frontal plane were measured. Amount of the mandibular rotational torque movement were measured at 'her', 'ha' speech position and for all through speech movement. Centric relation splint(CRS) was placed in both groups, but anterior or posterior bite plane were placed in normal subjects only. Data collected were processed and analysed by SPSS windows program. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Mandibular positions in both groups were not different before adaptation, with CRS, and after removal, but total amount of the mandibular rotational torque movement was greater in patients. 2. Mandible was slightly placed anteriorly with CRS at 'her' and 'ha' speech position in patients, but was placed anteriorly at all the five positions in normal subjects. 3. Difference with type of occlusal appliance in normal subjects were noted only for vertical distance at 'ssi' and 'ha' speech position, and the distance with CRS were more than that with posterior bite plane. 4. Mandibular rotational torque movement at 'her' and 'ha' speech position was greater in patients, but the difference was disappeared after appliance removal. And the torque movement was greater at 'ha' speech position than that at 'her' speech position in frontal plane. It could be concluded that the adaptation of occlusal appliance showed a tendency to locate the mandible anteriorly during speech in both groups, but did not affect total mandibular rotational torque movement which was greater in patients.
