In this paper, we propose a LED communication based multi-hop audio data transmission network system. The main contribution and features of the proposed system are as follows. First, the contribution of this research is to develope the LED communication based multi-hop transmission network system which can transmit audio data signal with long distance via multi-hops. Second, the developed system has the following features: In transmitter, audio data is transmitted after encoding with S/PDIF format via a general LED. The relay receives digital audio signal by using photo diode and then transmits the signal to receiver after error checking and amplifying. The receiver receives the encoded audio data via photo diode and then converts to analog audio signal by using decoding and amplifying. The performance evaluation of the proposed system is conducted in the laboratory with fluorescent light source. The results of the performance evaluation confirm that the system can provide high quality audio transmission from transmiter to receiver via multi-hop relays in a long distance while we can see there are differences in the transmitted audio quality according to the used LED colors.
The substation is a critical node in the power network where power is transformed in the power generation, transmission and distribution system. The IEC 61850 is a global standard which proposes efficient substation automation by defining interoperable communication and data modelling techniques. In order to achieve this level of interoperability and automation, the IEC 61850 (Part 6) defines System Configuration description Language (SCL). The SCL is an XML based file format for defining the abstract model of primary and secondary substation equipment, communications systems and also the relationship between them. It enables the interoperable exchange of data during substation engineering by standardizing the description of applications at different stages of the engineering process. To achieve the seamless interoperability, multi-vendor devices are required to adhere completely to the IEC 61850. This paper proposes an efficient algorithm required for verifying the interoperability of multi-vendor devices by checking the adherence of the SCL file to specifications of the standard. Our proposed SCL validation algorithm consists of schema validation and other functionalities including information model validation using UML data model, the Vendor Defined Extension model validation, the User Defined Rule validation and the IED Engineering Table (IET) consistency validation. It also integrates the standard UCAIUG (Utility Communication Architecture International Users Group) Procedure validation for quality assurance testing. Our proposed algorithm is not only flexible and efficient in terms of ensuring interoperable functionality of tested devices, it is also convenient for use by system integrators and test engineers.

Recently as the manufacturers want competitiveness in dynamically changing environment, they are trying a lot of efforts to be efficient with their production systems, which may be achieved by diminishing unplanned operation stops. The operation stops and maintenance cost are known to be significantly decreased by adopting proper maintenance strategy. Therefore, the manufacturers were more getting interested in scheduling of exact maintenance scheduling to keep smooth operation and prevent unexpected stops. In this paper, we proposedan integrated maintenance approach in injection molding manufacturing line. It consists of predictive and preventive maintenance approach. The predictive maintenance uses the statistical process control technique with the real-time data and the preventive maintenance is based on the checking period of machine components or equipment. For the predictive maintenance approach, firstly, we identified components or equipment that are required maintenance, and then machine parameters that are related with the identified components or equipment. Second, we performed regression analysis to select the machine parameters that affect the quality of the manufactured products and are significant to the quality of the products. By this analysis, we can exclude the insignificant parameters from monitoring parameters and focus on the significant parameters. Third, we developed the statistical prediction models for the selected machine parameters. Current models include regression, exponential smoothing and so on. We used these models to decide abnormal patternand to schedule maintenance. Finally, for other components or equipment which is not covered by predictive approach, we adoptedpreventive maintenance approach. To show feasibility we developed an integrated maintenance support system in LabView Watchdog Agent and SQL Server environment and validated our proposed methodology with experimental data.

The purpose and main points of the ROK-US Navy were analyzed from various angles using the big data technology Word Cloud for efficient sea trials. First, a comparison of words extracted through keyword cleansing in the ROK-US Navy sea trial showed that the ROK Navy conducted a single equipment test, and the US Navy conducted an integrated test run focusing on the system. Second, an analysis of the ROK-US Navy sea trials showed that approximately 66.6% were analyzed as similar items, of which more than two items were 112 items Approximately 44% of the 252 items of the ROK Navy sea trials overlapped, and that 89 items (35% of the total) could be reduced when integrated into the US Navy sea trials. A ship is a complex system in which multiple equipment operates simultaneously. The focus on checking the functions and performance of individual equipment, such as the ROK Navy's sea trials, will increase the sea trial period because of the excessive number of sea trial targets. In addition, the budget required will inevitably increase due to an increase in schedule and evaluation costs. In the future, further research will be needed to achieve more efficient and accurate sea trials through integrated system evaluations, such as the U.S. Navy sea trials.
As a shot sleeve in die casting plays a critical role in delivering molten metal to a die cavity, any disruption to its function in the injection stage results in deterioration of the quality of final castings. To guarantee a smooth operation of a shot sleeve, its structural stability should be maintained. Despite the simple geometry, design of shot sleeve is based on individual engineer's experience and no agreement on the design is present. In this study, we newly propose a systematic methodology to determine a minimum wall thickness of a shot sleeve to prevent yielding or plastic deformation. Analytical calculations incorporating numerical analysis produce a rational design rule for minimum thickness of a shot sleeve subject to metal intensification pressure and geometric die constraint. To validate the proposed design guideline, authors present real data on a collection of actual shot sleeves. Upon checking their conformity to the new design rule, we discovered a strong correlation between the design of wall thickness and premature failures.
An outcome-based curriculum is perceived to be one alternative educational approach in medical education. Nonetheless, it is difficult for curriculum developers to convert from traditional curriculum to an outcome-based curriculum because research documenting its development process is rare. Therefore, this study aims to introduce the development process and method of outcome-based curriculum. For the purpose of this study, we used diverse data analyses, such as an existing literature search, development model analysis, and case analysis. We identified five phases from the analysis. First, the curriculum developers analyze the physician's job or a high performer in a medical situation. Second, curriculum developers extract outcomes and competencies through developing a curriculum, affinity diagraming, and critical incident interviews. Third, curriculum developers determine the proficiency levels of each outcome and competency evaluation methods. Fourth, curriculum developers conduct curriculum mapping with outcomes and competencies. Fifth, curriculum developers develop an educational system. Also, it is important to develop an assessment system for the curriculum implementation in the process of developing the outcome-based curriculum. An outcome-based curriculum influences all the people concerned with education in a medical school including the professors, students, and administrative staff members. Therefore, curriculum developers should consider not only performance assessment tools for the students but also assessment indicators for checking curriculum implementation and managing curriculum quality.

Through welding fabrication, user can feel unsatisfaction of surface quality because of welded defects, Generally speaking, these are called weld defects. For checking these defects effectively without time loss effectively, weldability estimation system setup is an urgent thing for detecting whole specimen quality. In this study, by laser vision camera, catching a rawdata on welded specimen profiles, treating vision processing with these data, qualitative defects are estimated from getting these information at first. At the same time, for detecting quantitative defects, whole specimen weldability estimation is pursued by multifeature pattern recognition, which is a kind of fuzzy pattern recognition. For user friendly, by weldability estimation results are shown each profiles, final reports and visual graphics method, user can easily determined weldability. By applying these system to welding fabrication, these technologies are contribution to on-line weldability estimation.

In this paper, we propose a monitoring system that starts with the supply of raw materials for threading, is processed into a lathe machine, and checks for defects of the product are automatically performed by the robot with Smart Factory technology through assembly and disassembly. Completion check according to the production instruction quantity and production instruction is made by checking the production status according to whether or not the raw material is worn by the displacement sensor, and checking the pitch and the contour of the processed female and male to determine OK and NG. The robotic system acts as a relay for loading and unloading of raw materials, pallet transfer, and overall process, and it acts as an intermediary for organically driving. The location information of the threaded products is collected by using the non-contact wireless tag and the energy saving system Production efficiency and utilization rate were checked. The environmental sensor collects the air-conditioning environment data (temperature, humidity), measures the temperature and humidity accurately, and checks the quality of product processing. It monitors and monitors the driving hazard level environment (overheating, humidity) of the product. Controls for CNC and robot module PLC as a heterogeneous system.

The objective of the present study is to develop statistical quantitative forecast model for PM10 concentration over Seoul. We used three types of data (weather observation data in Korea, the China's weather observation data collected by GTS, and air quality numerical model forecasts). To apply the daily forecast system, hourly data are converted to daily data and then lagging was performed. The potential predictors were selected based on correlation analysis and multicollinearity check. Model validation has been performed for checking model stability. We applied two models (multiple regression model and threshold regression model) separately. The two models were compared based on the scatter plot of forecasts and observations, time series plots, RMSE, skill scores. As a result, a threshold regression model performs better than multiple regression model in high PM10 concentration cases.
High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is the newest video coding standard for improvement in video data compression. This new standard provides a significant improvement in picture quality, especially for high-resolution videos. A quadtree-based structure is created for the encoding and decoding processes and the rate-distortion (RD) cost is calculated for all possible dimensions of coding units in the quadtree. To get the best combination of the block an optimization process is performed in the encoder, called rate distortion optimization (RDO). In this work we are proposing a novel approach to enhance the overall RDO process of HEVC encoder. The proposed algorithm is performed in two steps. In the first step, like HEVC, it performs general rate distortion optimization. The second step is an extra checking where a SSIM based cost is evaluated. Moreover, a fast SSIM (FSSIM) calculation technique is also proposed in this paper.
