XML은 여러 분야에서 다양한 타입의 데이터를 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 표준으로 사용되고 있다. 이러한 XML의 한 응용으로서 데이터베이스 시스템, 파일 시스템, OLTP시스템, OLAP시스템, 데이터웨어하우징을 위한 ETL 시스템, 데이터마이닝 시스템 등을 포함하는 다양한 타입의 데이터 처리 시스템 사이에서 메타데이터를 교환하기 위하여 XML을 이용하여 메타데이터를 표준화하는 것이다. 본 연구는 MDC(MetaData Coalition)에 제안한 일반적인 데이터 처리 시스템을 위한 메타데이터 교환 스펙인 MDIS(Metadata Interchange Specification)를 따르도록 설계한 관계형 데이터베이스 시스템의 메타데이터 교환을 위한 사양으로서 R-MDIS(MetaData Interchange Specification for RDBs) 모델을 제안하고 이에 따라 표현된 자료를 상호 데이터베이스 시스템 사이에서 교환할 수 있는 Export 함수와 Import 함수를 포함하는 번역기를 개발한다. 이 번역기는 메타데이터의 일관성을 유지하면서도 메타데이터의 양방향 흐름을 지원할 수 있도록 하는 정보를 포함하고 있다. 본 연구는 구체적인 관계형 데이터베이스 시스템에서의 메타데이터 교환을 위한 실제적인 번역기를 구현함으로써 다양한 종류의 데이터 처리 시스템들 사이에서 메타데이터 불일치 문제를 해결할 수 있는 근거를 제시하였다. 둘째, XML을 이용하여 메타데이터 교환 사양을 설정함으로서 구도화된 데이터나 구조화되지 않은 데이터 모두에 대하여 일관된 방법으로 데이터 교환이 가능하도록 하여 효율적인 정보 교환을 할 수 있다는 것을 보여 주었다. 셋째, 본 연구에서 개발한 번역기는 메타데이터 교환에 의해 데이터들을 공유하게 함으로서 효율적으로 관리하지 못하던 데이터들을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있게 함으로서 데이터 관리 문제에 해결책이 될 것이다.

전자상거래의 글로벌한 움직임과 관련하여 여전히 EDI는 전자상거래의 핵심요소로서 중요성을 더해 가고 있지만, 전세계를 하나로 연결하는 인터넷의 등장과 비즈니스 환경의 변화로 말미암아 그 역할과 구현방법에 새로운 변화가 일어나고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 전자상거래 구현의 중심적인 역할을 하고 있는 기존의 EDI와 현재의 인터넷을 기반으로 하는 EDI까지의 새로운 EBI조류에 대하여 살펴보았다.

본 논문은 분산 시스템에서의 표준합성환경 기반 수중 교전 시뮬레이션을 위한 방법론이다. 수중 교전 시뮬레이션의 경우 염분과 수온 등의 수중 환경 데이터를 시뮬레이션에 반영하는 것이 중요하다. 분산 시뮬레이션 시스템에서 이러한 환경 데이터의 재사용성과 상호운용성 향상을 위해 합성 환경 표현 및 교환 표준(Synthetic Environmental Data Representation and Interchange Specification, SEDRIS(ISO standard for environmental data))이 개발되었고, 본 논문에서는 SEDRIS를 활용하여 수중 합성환경을 구축한다. 본 논문을 통해 SEDRIS가 합성환경 데이터의 국제 표준이지만 그 방대함과 복잡함으로 인하여 사용이 저해된 문제점을 대기/해양 환경에 대해 효율적인 SEDRIS 기술 활용 방법을 제시하여 해결한다. 본 논문의 최종 목적은 대기/해양 환경 표현을 위한 다차원 격자 기반의 SEDRIS 구조를 구축하고, High Level Architecture (HLA)/Run-Time Infrastructure (RTI) 기반의 분산 시스템에서 대기/해양 합성전장환경 구축에 SEDRIS 적용 방법을 제시한다.

These days, a modeling tool or environment has to know about the others on the market and build bridges to them with which their customers insist on sharing models and data. When it is based on a closed architecture, a tangle of import/export point translators is required. Using an exchange standard, we can design an open architecture for the interchange of models and data. XML(Extensible Markup Language) provides a framework for describing the syntax for creating and exchanging data structures. The explosive growth of XML-based business proposals and standards reflects the urgent requirements and its strength. This paper proposes an XML-based language for sharing decision models within the MSOR/DSS community. The language is able to allow applications and on-line analytic processing tools to models obtained from multiple sources without having to deal with individual differences between those sources. It is expected to be a medium for B2B integration by supporting flexible interchange of decision models.

Many companies are using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for the electronic transmission of documents and information to and from other companies. The appearance of Internet can enhance existing EDI systems. Existing EDI systems have several problems such as poor system interoperability and high expense of VAN. This paper prognoses a new EDI system utilizing Internet to provide open communication environment by using XML (extensible Markup language) and this applies it to the EDI service for Hospital Demand. XML is a mark-up language extending HTML which is a standard language for the expression of WWW (World-Wide Web) pages. XML is more structural than HTML, thus it is more suitable for the repetitive tasks of EDI and for the maintenance of databases. XML can transmit EDI documents in the open communication environment of Internet and users can easily access the documents with web browsers. Therefore we can provide EDI services within more open environment and we can build an EDI system with lower expense.

최근 인터넷을 통한 정보 교환을 위해 XML(eXtensible Markup Language), 이러한 XML과 EDI의 기술적 특성과 장점을 이용한 XML/EDI에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. EDI의 개념과 더불어 일괄처리 EDI에서부터, 실시간 EDI, 대화형 EDI, 개방형 EDI, 객체지향 EDI, 그리고 인터넷을 이용한 EDI로 발전되는 과정을 살펴보고, 특히 XML/EDI의 발전방향에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다.

메타데이터는 데이터에 관한 데이터로 데이터를 관리하기 위하여 사용된다. 데이터베이스를 기반으로 하는 응용프로그램이 증가하면서 메타데이터를 관리하기 위해 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)형식의 메타데이터 모델 및 메타데이터 교환모델이 제안되고 있지만 XML형식의 메타데이터를 관계형 데이터베이스에 저장하는 것이 일반적이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 관계형 데이터베이스의 메타데이터를 객체지향 데이터베이스에 저장하기 위해 메타데이터 모델과 메타데이터 교환모델을 설계하여 메타데이터를 관리하는 새로운 리파지토리 시스템 구현을 목적으로 한다. 관계형 데이터베이스의 메타데이터를 XML문서로 변형 후 객체지향 데이터베이스의 XML 데이터 서버인 eXcelon에 저장하여 XQL (XML Query Language)에 의해 질의함으로써 관계형 데이터베이스 시스템들의 메타데이터의 검색, 편집을 가능하도록 하고 XSL(extensible StyleSheets Language)의 적용을 통하여 다양한 양식으로 웹 브라우져 상에 메타데이터를 출력함으로써 메타데이터의 속성을 면밀히 파악할 수 있다.

With the proliferation of telecommunication technologies, the traditional internal focus of information systems has shifted to entities beyond the organization's boundaries. In recent years, electronic data interchange (EDI) has come to revolutionize the way in which a business operates and relates to other businesses, Based on the establishment of trading activities, EDI systems have come to signify a speedy, efficient, and accurate means of electronically exchanging business transactions This study examines the current research trends in the area of EDI systems and identifies several issues for future research.55 articles in the EDI area from 1987 through 1996 were collected from related journals and proceedings of conferences. The articles are categorized by years and journals. The amount of EDI research has increased dramatically during the period of the study. Also, presented are the results of a content analysis of the articles. The findings not only provides general information about reserch methods, and direction of EDI study.

정보 통신망과 정보통신기기가 보급 확산되고 이들 기술의 발달을 바탕으로 전략적 차원에서 조직끼리 정보를 공유하는 조직간 시스템(Inter-organizational System : IOS)이 확산되고 있는데 그 대표적인 IOS 중의 하나가 바로 전자자료교환(EDI : electronic data interchange)이다. 본 논문에서는 EDI를 도입하고 있는 국내 기업들의 EDI 내 외부 확산정도에 영향을 미치는 EDI의 확산요인을 제시하고 이와 병행하여 EDI의 내 외부 확산정도에 따른 EDI의 조직성과를 규명한다. EDI를 내 외부적으로 확산시키기 위해서는 최고경영자의 EDI 사용에 대한 지원과 조직내 정보기술의 성숙이 필수적인 것으로 판명되었다. 또한 본 논문은 국내의 상항에 맞는 EDI의 확산요인을 제시함으로써 국내 기업들이 EDI를 좀 더 확산시킬 수 있는 데 기여하게 될 것이다.
