In this paper, Fault tolerant digital governor, using duplex I/O module and triplex CPU module and also 2 out of 3 voting algorithm and adding self diagnostic ability, is designed to realize ceaseless controlling and to improve the reliability of control system. The processor module of the system(SIDG-3000) is developed based on MC68EC040 32 Bit of Motorola, which guaranteed high quality of the module ,and SRAM for data also SRAM for command are separated. The process module also includes inter process communication function and power back up function (SRAM for back-up). System reliability is estimated by using the model of Markov process. The reliability of triplex system in mission time can be improved about 1.8 times in reliability 86%. 2.8 times in 95 %, 6 times in 99 % compared with a single control system. Designed digital governor system is applied after modelling of the steam turbine generator system of Buk-Cheju Thermal Power Plant. Simulation is carried out to prove the effectiveness of the designed digital governor system
Precocious puberty is defined as the appearance of secondary sex characteristics before age 8 years in girls (or menarche before age 9 years) and before 9 years in boys. The age of onset of puberty is progressing to younger age. The pubertal activation of gonadotrophin releasing hormone(GnRH) release requires coordinated changes in excitatory or inhibitory amino acids, growth factors, and a group of transcriptional regulators. A number of factors affecting precocious puberty were explored, including the role of genetic factors, nutrition(body fat) and exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals. In addition to the psychosocial disturbances associated with precocious puberty, the premature pubertal growth spurt and the accelerated bone maturation result in reduced adult height. Precocious puberty may be gonadotrophin-dependent premature activation of the GnRH pulse generator or gonadotrophin-independent. In rapidly progressing central precocious puberty, GnRH agonists appear to increase final height. However more data on the effect and long-term safety of GnRHa are needed.

In modern society, the number of industrial customers using equipment sensitive particularly to voltage sags is rapidly increasing. As voltage sags can cause loss of information as well as false operation of the control device, it results in the vast economic damage in industrial processes. One way to mitigate voltage sags in the sensitive loads is the installation of distributed generation (DGs) on the periphery of these loads. In addition, renewable energy sources are currently in the spot light as the potential solution for the energy crisis and environmental issues. In particular, wind power generation which is connected to a grid is rising rapidly because it is energy efficient and also economically feasible compared to other renewable energy sources. On the basis of the above information, in this paper, with Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) installed nearby the sensitive load, the analysis of the mitigating effect comparison by types of WTGs is performed using voltage sag assessment on the IEEE-30 bus test system. That is, the areas of vulnerability according to types of WTGs are expected to be different by how much reactive power is produced or consumed as WTG reactive power capability is related to the types of WTGs. Using the concept of 'Vulnerable area' with the failure rate for buses and lines, the annual number of voltage sags at the sensitive load with the installation of WTGs per type is studied. This research will be anticipated to be useful data when determining the interconnection of wind power generation in the power system with the consideration of voltage sags.

This paper presents the simulation modeling and analysis of variable wind speed turbine system(VWTS) using the doubly fed induction generator(DFIG) connected the back to back converter system in the rotor side. In the simulation, using the model system which has the 660[kW] rated power, blade control and the dual converter system are modeled for verifying the control characteristics. The VWTS is controlled by the optimal pitch angle for maximum output power under the rated wind speed, and for the rated output power over the rated wind speed. And also power factor is controlled by the reactive power. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, simulation results are compared with the actual data from the V47 VWTS located in Hangwon wind farm in Jeju-Do. According to the comparison of these results, this method shows excellent performance.

In this paper, a multimedia authoring system using temporal/spatial synchronization manager is designed and implemented to support easy and efficient generation of multimedia title. For this goal, a flowchart-oriented logic generator which represents a title author's design intent into a practical title composition logic without extra translation process, and a logic interpreter which translate and implement the generated title logic, are designed. Furthermore, a temporal/spatial synchronization manager which manages temporal/spatial synchronization information between media data for multimedia representation, is designed. Especially, a temporal specification model and MRL, a formal language for the model, are designed to synchronize the temporal relation between media objects. The MRL represents a complex temporal relation by simple and clear form, and synchronizes efficiently multimedia representation according to the author's intent. A presentation frame editor which makes coincidence between visible size of representation media and attachment point, is implemented for spatial synchronization.
The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute has developed an advanced fast reactor concept, KALIMER-600, which satisfies the Generation IV reactor design goals of sustainability, economics, safety, and proliferation resistance. The concept enables an efficient utilization of uranium resources and a reduction of the radioactive waste. The core design has been developed with a strong emphasis on proliferation resistance by adopting a single enrichment fuel without blanket assemblies. In addition, a passive residual heat removal system, shortened intermediate heat-transport system piping and seismic isolation have been realized in the reactor system design as enhancements to its safety and economics. The inherent safety characteristics of the KALIMER-600 design have been confirmed by a safety analysis of its bounding events. Research on important thermal-hydraulic phenomena and sensing technologies were performed to support the design study. The integrity of the reactor head against creep fatigue was confirmed using a CFD method, and a model for density-wave instability in a helical-coiled steam generator was developed. Gas entrainment on an agitating pool surface was investigated and an experimental correlation on a critical entrainment condition was obtained. An experimental study on sodium-water reactions was also performed to validate the developed SELPSTA code, which predicts the data accurately. An acoustic leak detection method utilizing a neural network and signal processing units were developed and applied successfully for the detection of a signal up to a noise level of -20 dB. Waveguide sensor visualization technology is being developed to inspect the reactor internals and fuel subassemblies. These research and developmental efforts contribute significantly to enhance the safety, economics, and efficiency of the KALIMER-600 design concept.
Dose response relationships for one of biological end-points (gene mutation) in somatic cells of Tradescantia 4430 clones were studied using neutrons coming out of a californium-252 isotopic source. And the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of neutrons in relation to X-rays in the induction of TSH pink mutations was assessed. Inflorescences were irradiated with X-ray from X-ray generator and neutrons from $^{252}Cf$ source. Irradiated cuttings were incubated with aeration in neutrient solution under the controlled condition. For more than 4 weeks after irradiation cell mutations were scored. Pink mutation frequencies were calculated from the pooled data for the peak interval (days 6 to 13 post-irradiation). Somatic cell mutations in TSH showed linear dose response relationships in the range of neutron doses available for the experiment. The RBE values estimated for neutrons in relation to X-rays were in the range 3.1 to 6.8, which were much lower than normally recognized value.

Image de-snowing aims at eliminating the negative influence by snow particles and improving scene understanding in images. In this paper, a perceptual generative adversarial network based a single image snow removal method is proposed. The residual U-Net is designed as a generator to generate the snow free image. In order to handle various sizes of snow particles, the inception module with different filter kernels is adopted to extract multiple resolution features of the input snow image. Except the adversarial loss, the perceptual loss and total variation loss are employed to improve the quality of the resulted image. Experimental results indicate that our method can obtain excellent performance both on synthetic and realistic snow images in terms of visual observation and commonly used visual quality indices.

This paper discusses energy use monitoring and analysis as part of a study on a low-cost energy supply management system that links an existing database with weather information with no real-time monitor for energy demand of buildings using renewable energy, generator and energy storage systems. This study is targeted at small and medium-sized buildings and aims to monitor energy use with a small number of sensors at low cost by applying an energy management system (EMS). The present study can help overcome the limitations of high-cost EMS applied to large commercial and public buildings. We developed current, indoor temperature and human motion sensors and installed them in an office of a company in a sample building. Through these sensors, we analyzed energy use patterns and the effects of weather information and human motion on the energy use. Furthermore, we analyzed the correlations between the total KEPCO energy use of the sample building and weather by comparing these two data. The results showed that the office energy use of a company was more affected by human motions than by weather information. The comparison between the total energy use of the Building and weather information found that external temperature had an effect on the energy use.

Active array radar is evolving into digital active array radar. Digital active array radar has many advantages for making several simultaneous radar beams from the digital receive data of each element. A digital-type transceiver(TR) module is suitable for this goal in radar. In this work, the design results of an L-band digital TR module are presented to verify the possibility of fabrication for a digital active array antenna. This L-band digital TR module consists of a gallium-nitride-type HPA to achieve a more than 350-W peak output power and one-chip transceivers that include a digital waveform generator and analog digital converter. The receiving gain was 47 dB, the noise figure was less than 2 dB, and the final output type of the four channel receiving paths was one optic signal.
