  • The growth of IT technology and the popularity of network based information sharing increase the number of digital contents in military area. Thus, there arise issues of finding suitable public information with the growing number of long-term preservation of digital public information. According to the source of raw data and the time of compilation may be variable and there can be existed in many correlations about digital contents. The business service ontology makes knowledge explicit and allows for knowledge sharing among information provider and information consumer for public digital archive engaged in improving the searching ability of digital public information. The business service ontology is at the interface as a bridge between information provider and information consumer. However, according to the difficulty of semantic knowledge extraction for the business process analysis, it is hard to realize the automation of constructing business service ontology for mapping from unformed activities to a unit of business service. To solve the problem, we propose a new business service auto-acquisition method for the first step of constructing a business service ontology based on Enterprise Architecture.

  • Remote sensing can provide invisible information in addition to acquire wide-view image data from space. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) transmits microwave to the earth from a satellite and collects the reflected echo from the surface. Interferometric processing of SAR data can detect the subtle land deformation. The information of the surface movement by SAR is useful to monitor the volcanic activity, extended subsidence of urbanized area and the prediction of the earthquake caused by crustal deformation, and it complements the conventional levelling and GPS technique. PSInSAR (Permanent Scatterers Interferometric SAR) is one of interferometric techniques to be applied to practical projects in Japan. In this paper, the projects of land deformation monitoring are shown after the explanations of the PSInSAR principle. Tokai earthquake risk assessment is the first example. PSInSAR detects the subduction of crustal deformation of the adjacent area of new assumed epicenter region of the Tokai Earthquake. The extended subsidence of the urbanized area was implemented by using Japanese satellite data i.e. JERS that has so much data the surrounding of Japan as the archive. We examine the relationship between the geological structure and settlement at Nohbi basin including Nagoya city.

  • The study uses lists of wedding gifts used from old Korean documents written in Hangeul in the western Gyungnam province during the 20th century. The study analyzed four lists of wedding gifts from the Muncheongak archive and two lists from the archive of ancient document. This analysis found that clothing accounts for the majority of the items in the lists, and items such as furniture, jewelry, household goods, and medical materials were also recorded. That the furnishings were commonly prepared by the groom's side, and the fact that the number of jeogori was higher than the number of skirt, speaks to the unique wedding custom of Gyeongsang province. While the groom's list of wedding gifts included a record of the bride's ornaments, jewelry, and furnishings in the bride's list, the groom's nickel top-knot pin was only included as an ornament. In the list of wedding gifts between brothers, the gifts for the eldest son differed from those for the third son in terms of number and price. The list of wedding gifts between father and son illustrates how economic development and changing times wedding custom. The lists of wedding gifts in the old Korean documents shed light on the oral research into 20th century wedding custom, which will be used as basic data in researching and reproducting the wedding culture and life conditions of the time.

  • The purpose of this research is to explore the phenomenon of the sharing, reuse, and citation of research software. These practices are playing an increasingly important role in scholarly communication. The researchers found that the citation and reuse of research software are currently uncommon or at least not reflected in the Data Citation Index (DCI). Such citation was observed, however, for the newer software in a number of prominent repositories. The repositories Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN) and Zenodo received the most formal software citations. The researchers observed both formal and informal forms of citation when researchers reused software. The latter form involves mentioning research software in passing in the main text of articles, while formal citations appear in the references section. In addition, our comparative analysis helps to explain the phenomenon of self-citation of research software.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop linked data of authority data in national archives of Korea as a cornerstone for linked data cloud of Korea. The study analyzed data structure of authority data as well as a retrieval system. It finally developed linked data based on RDF/OWL, Dublin Core, and SKOS. The study also employed TopBraid ComposerTM as a tool for ontology construction. The visualization of the tool provides users with flexible search and browsing between data as well as access of detail authority data. It complements the search of a current system in terms of flexible linking between records and authority data. The study also suggests future work to publish linked data of archival data set itself and make rich relationships among data in museums, libraries, and other archives.

  • Optical disks are widely used in libraries and archives as digital data media due to their long-term storage stability. Though archive-grade optical disks are already available on the market, there is a relative less focusing on the reliable recording conditions. Commercial BD-R media were recorded at various recording speeds with the maximum speed of 6X, and tested at the acceleration aging conditions. Through the evaluation of long-term storage features by the data stability test, lower recording speed of 2x resulted in better long-term storage stability. In addition, degradation aspects of unstable long-term storage feature at outer region of disk were discussed.

  • We present near-infrared photometric properties of red supergiant stars (RSGs) in three galaxies NGC 4449, NGC 5055 and NGC 5457. The near-infrared imaging data of WFCAM UKIRT were used and combined with optical archive data to identify the RSGs in the galaxies. We found that the RSGs can be identified from the foreground Galactic stars in (i-K, ri) colour-colour diagram. The effective temperatures and luminosities of the identified RSGs are estimated from JHK photometry using MARCS model. In the H-R diagram, the majority of RSGs in the galaxies are distributed between $logL/L{\odot}=4.8$ and 5.7, and their effective temperature and luminosities agree with the current evolutionary tracks with masses in the range $9-30M{\odot}$. We also compared the spatial distribution of RSGs with the HII regions. A tight spatial correlation between RSGs and HII region was found in NGC 4449 and NGC 5457. We do not find a clear metallicity dependance on the RSG effective temperature in the three galaxies, but the maximum luminosity of the three galaxies is constant at $logL/L{\odot}{\sim}5.6$. Additional spectroscopy data, including photometry are essential to examine whether the physical properties of RSGs change with metallicity.

  • The high-resolution optical region spectroscopic data of the symbiotic nova AG Peg secured with the Hamilton Echelle Spectrograph at the Lick Observatory, have been analyzed along with the International Ultraviolet Explorer UV archive data. We measure about 700 line intensities in the wavelengths of 3859 to $9230{\AA}$ and identify about 300 lines. We construct pure photoionization models that represent the observed lines and the physical condition for this symbiotic nova. The spectral energy distribution of the ionizing radiation is adopted from stellar model atmospheres. Based on photoionization models, we derive the elemental abundances; C & N appear to be similar to be smaller than the Galactic planetary nebular value while O is enhanced. Our result is compared with the Contini (1997, 2003) who analyzed the UV region spectral data with the shock + ionization model. The Fe abundance appears to be enhanced than that of normal planetary nebulae, which suggests that AG Peg may have formed in the Galactic disk. The models indicate that the temperature of the central star which excite the shell gas may have fluctuated to an unexpected extent during the years 1998 - 2002.

  • Nuclear data (ND) sensitivity and uncertainty (S/U) quantification in shielding applications is performed using deterministic and probabilistic approaches. In this paper the validation of the newly developed deterministic program package ASUSD (ADVANTG + SUSD3D) is presented. ASUSD was developed with the aim of automating the process of ND S/U while retaining the computational efficiency of the deterministic approach to ND S/U analysis. The paper includes a detailed description of each of the programs contained within ASUSD, the computational workflow and validation results. ASUSD was validated on two shielding benchmark experiments from the Shielding Integral Benchmark Archive and Database (SINBAD) - the fission relevant ASPIS Iron 88 experiment and the fusion relevant Frascati Neutron Generator (FNG) Helium Cooled Pebble Bed (HCPB) Test Blanket Module (TBM) mock-up experiment. The validation process was performed in two stages. Firstly, the Denovo discrete ordinates transport solver was validated as a standalone solver. Secondly, the ASUSD program package as a whole was validated as a ND S/U analysis tool. Both stages of the validation process yielded excellent results, with a maximum difference of 17% in final uncertainties due to ND between ASUSD and the stochastic ND S/U approach. Based on these results, ASUSD has proven to be a user friendly and computationally efficient tool for deterministic ND S/U analysis of shielding geometries.
