En coastal area, many submarine facilities such as pipes and cables are installed on/under the sea bed. Also, there are heavy traffic due to numerous vessels which call in ports or navigate passages in adjacent water. Therefore, the frequency of dropping anchors will be increased to avoid various dangerous situations. When an anchor is dropped from vessel on the sea bed, the anchor strikes on the sea bed, and then, the anchor penetrates to certain depth into the sea bed. In this case, sometimes submarine facilities on/under the sea bed may be damaged by the strike or the maximum penetrating depth of anchor. In this paper, some approximate equations on the strike and the penetrating depth of anchors have been derived on the basis of actual data, and the results are expected to use as basic design data of related facilities.

A retrospective analysis of 175 patients who were suffering from trigeminal neuralgia was done. We found 21 cases (12.0%) of abnormal findings including brain tumors and cerebrovascular disease on brain MRI. All patients were transferred to department of neurosurgery for operation. Among them, 7 patients refused or gave up operation and received nerve blocks with pure alcohol. Their MRI findings were meningioma, arachnoid cyst, arteriovenous malformation, venous angioma, and frontal sinus cancer This study demonstrates that peripheral nerve block or trigeminal nerve block with pure alcohol would be possible in case of elderly patients, patients who have poor general condition, patients who refuse operation, and brain tumor or cerebrovascular disease which located in dangerous area to be operated.

Defense systems are needed to prevent catastrophic failures of a power grid due to cascaded events. Cascaded events can be occurred by power flow overload. Especially, it is the most dangerous problem that overload line is outage, because it can make the power system face danger of cascaded. In this paper, vulnerability evaluation for monitoring wide are outage is proposed using by configuration information of transmission systems. This method of vulnerability evaluation is considered direct effect and indirect effect of power flow, especially overload. What is more, it can be used when the configuration of power system changes, as simple fault occurs or maintenance of facility. In the case studies, the estimation and simulation network have been testified and analysed in PSSE and C programming.

Arteriovenous malformations are vascular anomalies containing a communication between artery and vein without an intervening capillary bed and also are the most dangerous of vascular malformations being hemodynamically active. Treatment must be careful usually limited and considered in the phase of activity of hemodynamics. The patient was 29-year-old female and had no specific signs and symptoms except buldging, pal- pable mass on the right posterolateral chest wall from several years ago and it was gradually growing from that time. The operation was done with ligation of the right 9th, 1 Oth intercostal arteries and dissection from other normal tissues and then excised the arteriovenous malformation mass and its feeding vessels. The pathologic result was arteriovenous malformation.

Automation and mechanization of work make people put the machine into operation and watch the state of operations. In the process of those works, they are apt to have accidents caused by their carelessness. To reduce such accidents, we can practise TOUCH and CALL, which Is to Indicate and ascertain the dangerous parts at every process before performing works. The objectives of thls study are to show quantitatively the efficiency of TOUCH & CALL and to examine the effects of S-R compatibility. The results show that reaction time is longer(0.138-0.279sec.) in case of indicating with finge,s and shouting than that of responding only visually. On the other hand, the error rate decreases by 3.3 times-7times. From this, it is considered to verify quantitative estimation on multiple feedback of TOUCH & CALL.

In order to distribute machinery to European Union, it is mandatory to get CE marking to ensure the machinery is safe and reliable. The EHSR(Essential Health and Safety Requirements) of the EC Machinery Directive requires the machinery to be designed and manufactured to prevent from any dangerous situation. This study presents a case of CE Certification in Back Cover Nut Insert Machine and introduces an improvement method of product safety and reliability. This study also presents how to eliminate the deficiencies in design and manufacturing, and the process of applying EHSR for CE Marking.

This paper describes development of a system that can create a hazard map by residents in order to prepare for disaster in daily life. This system make a hazard map by displaying the community-based disaster information on the map. Residents register information about the spot (a disaster type, a risk level, a photo, comments, positional information) that can be dangerous in case disaster. We think that residents can share information while having fan and increase disaster prevention consciousness by resident participation activities.

In case the problem came into the headlight composed of a bulb, lens and reflecting mirror, it has a sealed-beam type which must exchange all and semi-sealed beam type which can exchange only bulb. The headlight of train must be used at the time of going into tunnel and atmospheric phenomena such as heavy snow, rain and foggy as a rule, also it can be used with whistle blow when the dangerous article appears. In this study, general technical specification to improve headlight of the KTX and G7 high speed train is described throughout investigation technique of the industrialized country and headlight specification of train which is on commercial service.

The purpose of this study is to arrange the digital maps of Hamamatsu City and to construct the map information system to support the prediction and restoration of Tokai earthquake disasters. The authors arrange the land condition map and compute the populations of each land surface conditions and revealed that $37\%$ of the whole population lives in the safe land, but $63\%$ lives in the rather unsafe surface condition. The authors also arrange the digital map of the main lines of water supply pipe lines in corporation with the Hamamatsu City Water Supply Department and revealed the rather dangerous pipe line area in case of Tokai earthquake.

Three neonates with interrupted aortic arch with VSD underwent one stage repair using revised technique of cardiopulmonary bypass with short period of circulatory arrest. A left posterolateral thoracotomy was made to permit mobilization of the descending aorta and placement of polytetrafluoroethylene[PTFE graft for distal aortic perfusion. Then the patient was placed in the supine position and a median sternotomy was performed to permit the proximal dissection, VSD repair, and direct anastomosis between the ascending aorta and descending aorta. This technique has advantages to facilitate direct anastomosis between the ascending aorta and the descending aorta, to lessen circulatory arrest time, and to prevent dangerous laceration and post-operative narrowing of the thin small ascending aorta at cannulation site. There was no operative mortality but postoperative stenosis developed in one case which was relieved with balloon aortoplasty.
