Robust Nonlinear Control of AC Brushless Motor for Electric Vehicles Application

  • This article proposes a robust nonlinear control based on Lyapunov's redesign, whose purpose is to deal with parametric uncertainty in the resistance of the motor windings. The robust controller design is based on the passivity properties of the motor, as well as energy shaping and damping injection. The application of this control technique is focused on electric vehicles mainly formed by a battery bank, a power inverter, an AC brushless motor and the mechanical transmission. The sine PWM technique is used to trigger the switching devices of inverter. The results were obtained from simulation, where is shown that robust control makes a proper tracking of electromagnetic torque.

Comparative Analysis of Integer-order and Fractional-order Proportional Integral Speed Controllers for Induction Motor Drive Systems

  • Linear proportional-integral (PI) controllers are an attractive choice for controlling the speed of induction machines because of their simplicity and ease of implementation. Fractional-order PI (FO-PI) controllers, however, perform better than PI controllers because of their nonlinear nature and the underlying iso-damping property of fractional-order operators. In this work, an FO-PI controller based on the proposed first-order plus dead-time induction motor model and integer-order (IO) controllers, such as Ziegler-Nichols PI, Cohen-Coon PI, and a PI controller tuned via trial-and-error method, is designed. Simulation and experimental investigation on an indirect field-oriented induction motor drive system proves that the proposed FO-PI controller has better speed tracking, lesser settling time, better disturbance rejection, and lower speed tracking error compared with linear IO-PI controllers. Our experimental study also validates that the FO-PI controller maximizes the torque per ampere output of the induction machine and can effectively control the motor at low speed, in field-weakening regions, and under detuned conditions.

승용차 동력전달계에 대한 클러치 디스크 특성의 영향 고찰 (An Investigation on the Effects of Clutch Disk Characteristics for a Passenger Car Driveline)

  • The clutch with torsional damper is installed on a passenger car with manual transmission, which not only transmits the power generated by engine to the transmission but also absorbs the shock and vibration from the engine. The torsional damper in the clutch dissipates the torsional vibration energy and eliminates the resonance in the driveline but high damping in the damper causes the increase of the vibration level which is against the comfort and durability. In this study, a dynamic model for the passenger car driveline with manual transmission was developed to investigate the vibration and the effects of characteristics of the driveline. With the dynamic model, the vibration characteristics of driveline were examined by the mode analysis and driving simulation, and the effects of hysteresis torque and spring constant were investigated. The vehicle tests with prototype torsional dampers were preformed and the test results showed good agreements with the simulation.

  • Electro-Mechanical Actuator installed on aircraft consists of a decelerator which magnifies the torque to rotate an axis connected with aircraft control surface, a control section which controls the motor assembly through receiving orders from cockpit and a motor assembly which rotates the decelerator. EMA controls aircraft attitued, position, landing, takeoff, etc. It is important part of a aircraft. Aircraft maneuvering make vibration of EMA. Vibration may cause the vibration fatigue. For that reason, it is necessary to analyze the system safety. In this paper, first EMA is modeled in finite element method and analyzed the response from input vibration. second EMA is tested and analyzed from modal experimental data. third EMA Fe model is updated and re analyzed. and EMA is verified safety with $3{\sigma}$ stress and S/N curves.

브레이크 패드의 동적 불안정성에 따른 스퀼 소음 발생 원인의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Squeal Noise Generation due to Dynamic Instability of Brake Pad)

  • Squeal noise is a typical brake noise that is annoying to both passengers and pedestrians. Its frequency range is fairly wide from 1 kHz to 18 kHz, which can be distressful to people. The brake squeal noise occurs due to various mechanisms, such as the mode coupling of the brake system, self-excited vibration, unstable wear, and others. In this study, several parameters involved in the generation of a squeal noise are investigated experimentally by using a brake noise dynamometer. The speed, caliper pressure, torque, and friction coefficient are measured as functions of time on the dynamometer. The contact pressure and temperature distributions of the disc and the pad are also measured by using a thermal imaging camera and a pressure mapping system. As a result of the simultaneous measurement of the friction coefficient and squeal amplitude as functions of the velocity, it is found that the onset of the squeal may be predicted from the ${\mu}-v$ curve. It is also found that a non-uniform contact pressure causes instability and, in turn, a squeal. Based on the analysis results, design modifications of the pad are suggested for improved noise characteristics.

유한요소 해석을 이용한 초탄성체 햅틱 피드백 연구 (Hyper-elastic Model Haptic Feedback Using Finite Element Analysis)

  • In this study, we establish hyper-elastic haptic feedback in a virtual environment using finite element analysis techniques and develop a Force Torque (FT) sensor utilization method for application in tele-operation environments. In general, regarding haptic feedback data, in a tele-operation environment, the user is provided with feedback according to the measured force data when the model is inserted through an FT sensor. Conversely, in a virtual environment, the press-fitting model can be expressed through the spring-damper system rather than an FT sensor to provide feedback. However, unlike rigid and the elastic bodies, the hyper-elastic body represented by a spring-damper system in a virtual environment is a simple impedance model using stiffness and damping coefficients; it is limited in terms of providing actual feedback. Thus, in this study, haptic feedback was implemented using the data obtained from POD-RBF analysis results during hyper-elastic press-fitting experiments. The haptic feedback mechanism developed in this study was verified by comparing the FT sensor feedback data measured and calculated through hyper-elastic press-fitting experiments with spring-damper feedback data. Subsequently, the POD-RBF analysis feedback was compared and evaluated against the feedback mechanism of each environment through the test subject, and the similarities between the POD-RBF analysis feedback and FT sensor data feedback were verified.

선박용 발전기 엔진 출력 측정 장치의 TDC 오차 발생 원인 (Causes of Top Dead Center Error in Marine Generator Engine Power-Measuring Device)

  • 엔진의 출력을 측정하기 위한 방법은 실린더의 연소압력을 측정하여 지시마력을 구하는 방법과 축토크를 측정하여 축마력을 구하는 방법이 있다. 축토크로 실린더의 상태를 확인하기에는 한계가 있으며, 엔진의 성능 측정과 실린더의 연소 해석을 위해서는 실린더의 연소 상태를 확인할 수 있는 연소압력을 측정하는 방법이 가장 정확하다. 측정에 있어 연소압력은 크랭크샤프트 회전 각도에 따른 실린더 압력이 도시되어야하기 때문에 정확한 실린더 앵글각도를 정확히 인지시키는 작업이 가장 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 실제 운항선의 발전기 엔진을 대상으로 실린더 압력을 측정하기 위하여 크랭크 앵글 센서로 엔코더를 사용하였고 엔코더에서 인지하는 TDC(TDCencoder)와 압축압력에 의한 TDC(TDCcomp) 간의 실측을 통하여 차이가 발생하는 원인에 대하여 고찰하였다. 또한 0 %, 25 %, 50 %와 60 % 부하에서 측정된 실린더의 TDCcomp와 TDCencoder 간의 차이를 통하여 크랭크샤프트의 제작에 의한 영향, 부하증가에 따른 엔진과 발전기 사이의 커플링 영향에 대한 결과를 고찰하였으며, 발전기의 부하가 증가할수록 최대 3°CA까지 TDC의 오차가 발생함을 확인하였다.

구조물 내진보강을 위한 다중 마찰댐퍼의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of Multi-Friction Dampers for Seismic Retrofitting of Structures)

  • 이 연구는 구조물 내진보강 장치의 하나인 마찰댐퍼에 관한 것으로, 내부 마찰재를 복합재료의 일종인 초고분자량 폴리에틸렌으로 대체하여 댐퍼를 개발하였다. 또한 마찰력이 발생하는 내부 구조를 여러 층으로 적층하는 다중 마찰방식을 적용하였다. 개발된 다중 마찰댐퍼의 성능 검증을 위해서 재료에 대한 기초 물성과 마모 특성, 디스크 스프링에 대한 특성 분석 시험을 수행하였다. 마모시험 시험결과, UHMWPE의 질량 감소율은 0.003%로 복합재료 기반의 마찰재 중에서 가장 우수한 성능을 보였다. 디스크 스프링은 유한요소해석과 시험결과로부터 설계기초자료를 확보하였다. 또한 개발된 다중 마찰댐퍼의 품질 안정성을 확인하기 위해 토크값에 따른 마찰력 변화와 감쇠장치에 대한 지진하중 시험을 수행하였다. 품질성능 시험결과, 토크 값 조절에 따라 선형적인 마찰력 변화를 보였으며, 지진하중 시험 결과, 마찰댐퍼의 허용오차는 설계기준에서 요구하는 15% 미만으로 나타나 내진보강 장치로서의 요구조건을 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.

단면형상에 따른 GF/rPET 열가소성 복합재료의 물리적 특성 연구 (Mechanical Characteristics of GF/recycled PET Thermoplastic Composites with Chopped Fiber According to Cross Section)

  • Recently fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites have attracted great interest from industry and study because they offer unique properties such as high strength, modulus, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and damping reduction which are difficult to obtain in single-component materials. The demand for plastics is steadily increasing not only in household goods, packaging materials, but also in high-performance engineering plastic and recycling. As a result, the technology of recycling plastic is also attracting attention. In particular, many paper have studied recycling systems based on recycled thermoplastics. In this paper, properties of Glass Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic(GFRTP) materials were evaluated using recycled PET for injection molding bicycle frame. The effect on thermal and mechanical properties of recycled PET reinforced glass chop fiber according to fiber cross section and fiber content ratio were studied. And it was compared void volume and torque energy by glass fiber cross section, which is round section and flat section. Mechanical characteristics of resulting in GF/rPET has been increased by increasing fiber contents, than above a certain level did not longer increased. And mechanical properties of flat glass fiber reinforced rPET with low void volume were most excellent.

이관성계 전동기 구동시스템의 축진동억제를 위한 강인한 속도제어기법 (Robust Speed Control Scheme for Torsional Vibration Suppression of Two Mass System)

  • 본 논문에서는 Kharitonov의 강인 안정도 이론을 적용한 이관성계 전동기 구동시스템에 대한 새로운 축진동억제 제어방식을 제안한다. 제안한 축진동억제 제어기는 전동기 속도와 관측된 비틀림 토크를 궤환하는 축소차원 상태궤환 제어기와 PI 제어기를 이용한 속도제어기로 구성되어 있다. 또한 오프라인 RLS 방식으로 추정된 기계계 파라미터를 사용하여 축진동 억제를 위한 속도제어기를 설계하고, Kharitonov의 강인 안정도 이론을 적용하여 제어기의 이득을 선정하였다. Kharitonov의 강인안정도 이론을 통해 지정한 안정도 마진과 댐펑 특성을 확보하였으며 지정된 범위 내에서 파라미터가 변동시에도 우수한 축진동 억제 특성을 획득하였다. 마지막으로 시뮬레이션과 자체 제작한 이관성계 전동기 구동 시스템의 통가 실험장치를 통해 축진동억제 제어방식의 효과와 유용성을 검증하였다.
