This experiment was carried out using artificial clay and LED in the plastic film house (irradiation time: 08:00~18:00/day). Seedlings (n = 63 per $3.3m^2$) of ginseng was planted on May 17, 2018. LED was combined with red and blue light in a 3:1 ratio and irradiated with different light intensity. The average air temperature from April to September was $12.3^{\circ}C$$-26.0^{\circ}C$ and it was the the highest at $26.0^{\circ}C$ in August. The test area where fluorescent lamp was irradiated tended to be somewhat higher than the LED irradiation area. The chemical properties of the test soil are as follows. pH levels was 5.3~5.5, EC levels 0.45~0.52 dS/m and OM levels 33~37%. The total nitrogen content was 0.35~0.47% and the available $P_2O_5$ contents was 13.7~16.0 mg/kg, which was lower than the suitable level of 70~200 mg/kg. Exchangeable cations K and Mg contents were within acceptable ranges, but the Ca contents was $28{\sim}38cmol^+/kg$ levels higher than the permissible level ($2{\sim}6cmol^+/kg$). Germination of ginseng leaves took 8~9 days and the overall germination rate was 70~75%. The photometric characteristics of LED light intensity are as follows. The greater the light intensity, the higher the PAR (Photosynthetic Action Radiation) value, illuminance and solar irradiation. Photosynthetic rate was also increased with higher light intensity was investigated at $1.7{\sim}3.2{\mu}mol\;CO_2/m^2/s$. Leaf temperature ($23.7{\sim}24.8^{\circ}C$) by light intensity was the same trend. The growth of aerial parts (plant height etc.) were generally excellent when irradiated with 3 times the light intensity, the growth of the ginseng aerial parts were excellent as follows. The plant height was 42.6 cm, stem length was 25.2 cm, leaf length was 9.6 cm and stem diameter was 5.0 mm. The growth of underground part (root length etc.) was the same, and the root length was 24.4 cm, the tap root length was 6.0 cm, diameter of taproot was 18.2 mm and the fresh root weight was 17.2 g. There were no disease incidence such as Alternaria blight, Gray mold and Anthracnose. Disease of Damping off occurred 2.2~3.6% and incidence ratio of rusty root ginseng was 14.6~20.7%. Leaf discoloration rate was 13.7~48.9% and increased with increasing light intensity. Ginsenoside content of ginseng by light intensity is under analysis.

This experiment was carried out using artificial bed soil and LED in the plastic film house(irradiation time: 07:00-17:00/day). Seedlings(n=63 per 3.3 m2) of ginseng was planted on May 17, 2018. LED was combined with red and blue light in a 3:1 ratio and irradiated with different light intensity(40-160 µmol/m2/s). Average air temperature from April to September according to the light intensity test was 20.4℃-20.9℃. Average artificial bed soil temperature was 20.1℃-21.7℃. The test area where fluorescent lamp was irradiated tended to be somewhat lower than the LED irradiation area. The chemical properties of the test soil was as follows. pH levels was 6.6-6.7, EC levels 0.9-1.3 dS/m and OM levels 30.6-32.0%. The available P2O5 contents was 73.3-302.3 mg/kg. Exchangeable cations K and Ca contents were higher than the allowable ranges and mg content was high in the fluorescent lamp treatment. The photometric characteristics of LED light intensity are as follows. The greater the light intensity, the higher the PPFD(Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) value, illuminance and solar irradiation. Fluorescent lamp treatment had high illuminance value, but PPFD and solar irradiation were lower than LED intensity 40 µmol/m2/s treatment. The photosynthetic rate increased(2.0-3.8 µmolCO2/m2/s) as the amount of light intensity increased, peaking at 120 µmol/m2/s, and then decreasing. The SPAD (chlorophyll content) value decreased as the amount of light intensity increased, and was the highest at 36.1 in fluorescent lamp treatment. Ginseng germination started on April 5 and took 14-17 days to germinate. The overall germination rate was 68.8-73.6%. The growth of aerial parts(plant height etc.) were generally excellent in the treatment of light intensity of 120-160 µmol/m2/s. The plant height was 41.9 cm, stem length was 24.1 cm, leaf length was 9.8 cm and stem diameter was 5.6 mm. The growth of underground part (root length etc.) was the best in the treatment with 120 µmol/m2/s of light intensity. Due to the root length was long(24.8 cm) and diameter of taproot was thick(18.7 mm), the fresh root weight was the heaviest at 24.8 g. There were no disease incidence such as Alternaria blight, Gray mold and Anthracnose. Disease of Damping-off caused by Rhizoctonia solani occurred 0.6-1.5% and incidence ratio of rusty root ginseng was 30.8-62.3%. It is believed that the reason for the high incidence of rusty root ginseng is that the amount of field moisture capacity of artificial bed soil is larger than the soil. Leaf discoloration rate was 13.7-32.3%.

The shutoff unit was designed to provide rapid insertion of neutron absorbing material into the reactor core to shutdown the reactor quickly and also to withdraw the absorber slowly to avoid a log-rate trip. Four shutoff units were installed on the HANARO reactor but the half-core test facility was equipped with one shutoff unit. The reactor trip or shutdown is accomplished by four shutoff units by insertion of the shutoff rods. The shutoff rod(SOR) is actuated by a directly linked hydraulic cylinder on the reactor chimney, which is pressurized by a hydraulic pump. The rod is released to drop by gravity, when triplicate solenoid valves are de-energized to vent the cylinder. The hydraulic pump, pipe and air supply system are provided to be similar with the HANARO reactor. The shutoff rod drops for 647mm stroke within 1.13 seconds to shut down the reactor and it is slowly inserted to the full down position, 700mm, with a damping. We have conducted the drop test of the shutoff rod in order to show the performance and the structural integrity of operating system of the shutoff unit. The present paper deals with the 647mm drop time and the withdrawal time according to variation of the pool water temperature, the water level and the core flow.
In this paper, we present a hydrostatic bearing design and rotordynamic analysis of a pump-and-drive turbine module for a 250-kW supercritical CO2 cycle application. The pump-and-drive turbine module consists of the pump and turbine wheel, assembled to a shaft supported by two hydrostatic radial and thrust bearings. The rated speed is 21,000 rpm and the rated power is 143 kW. For the bearing operation, we use high-pressure CO2 as the lubricant, which is supplied to the bearing through the orifice restrictor. We calculate the bearing stiffness and flow rate for various orifice diameters, and then select the diameter that provides the maximum bearing stiffness. We also conduct a rotordynamic analysis based on the design parameters of the pump-and-drive turbine module. The predicted Campbell diagram shows that there is no critical speed below the rated speed, owing to the high stiffness of the bearings. Furthermore, the predicted damping ratio indicates that there is no unstable mode. We conduct the operating tests for the pump and drive turbine modules within the supercritical CO2 cycle test loop. The pressurized CO2, at a temperature of 136℃, is supplied to the turbine and we monitor the shaft vibration during the test. The test results show that there is no critical speed below the rated speed, and the shaft vibration is controlled to below 3 ㎛.

Background: The cultivation of ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) in greenhouses could reduce the use of pesticides and result in higher yield; however, construction costs are problematic. The adaptation of direct-sowing culture in greenhouses could reduce the cost of ginseng production. Methods and Results: To improve seedling establishment in direct-sowing culture, effects of sowing density (SD), number of seeds sown per hole (SN), and thinning (TH) treatment on the root yield were investigated after 3 years of seeding. The emergence rate was significantly influenced by SD, but not by SN or TH. Damping-off and rusty roots increased with an increase in SN with diminishing effects of SN on seedling establishment. Root weight and diameter were affected by SD, SN, and TH, however, there were no statistical significances. The total number of roots harvested per unit area increased with increasing SD and SN, and the weight of roots was affected by SD, but not by SN or TH. Conclusions: Multi-seed sowing per hole and/or thinning might not be an efficient method for the direct-sowing culture of ginseng. The SD for direct seeding culture in greenhouses should be approximately $33-42seeds/m^2$ for an optimum yield of 3-year-old ginseng.
A capillary action-induced tension develops in the tear layer between the contact lens and cornea, which leads to the restoring force due to difference in the layer thickness between either upper and lower or left and right side of the lens when it is displaced off the equilibrium position as a result of blinking. Suppose the lens was displaced a certain distance from the equilibrium position, lens starts to oscillate toward the equilibrium position with the decreasing amplitude due to the restoring force as well as the velocity dependent viscous damping force in the tear layer. A mathematical model which consists of the differential equations and their numerical solution was proposed to analyze the damped oscillations of lenses. The model predicts the time dependence of lenses after the blink varying the various parameters such as Be, diameters, masses and positions displaced from equilibrium. As the Be and mass of lens increases the rate of amplitude reduction decreases, which requires a more time for the lens to return to the equilibrium position. It seems that varying the lens' displacement and diameters affect the lens' motion very little.

GIS partial discharge that occurred in the UHF band signal is effectively detected by the method to IEC60270 5pc the apparent minimum discharge can be detected over the GIS arrangement of the sensor interior and exterior of the UHF in accordance with the optimized position signal by considering the damping ratio is selected so that the signals can be obtained to be mounted. 362kV, 800kV GIS is installed on the internal and external sensors are UHF band signal attenuation is set by measuring the reference value, but the operation, 170kV case 362kV, 800kV on the basis of the measurement data and to be installed and operated. When 170kV per 1Bay by installing the built-in sensor 1 for detecting a partial discharge signal, But, GIS signal attenuation is large in the case of an internal partial discharge signal is not detected in some cases. Where the attenuation is great UHF signal of the sensor by increasing the quantity of partial discharge signals were acquired to allow relocation. The greater the spacing between the sensor and the sensor is applied simplifies the installation and reduces the cost in terms of maintenance of appropriate optimal position is calculated to detect the partial discharge signal is needed. Thus 170kV GIS signal power attenuation of a partial discharge by measuring the UHF sensor, and by relocating the proper position is calculated in accordance with the sensor signal decay rate and minimize the error of omission in detecting a partial discharge signal was optimized.
Recently, the importance of variable displacement piston pump is increasing in industrial world. Especially, most consumers require various range of pressures and flow rates. Pressure compensator is a system controlling flow rate in piston pump at low cost and, therefore, satisfies the need of consumers. However, the system has serious problems, such as response and leakage. The response and leakage are affected by clearance between actuator piston and cylinder, roughness of surface, and spool overlap. In this paper, these effects are investigated experimentally, and optimal clearance and chamfer is obtained. While diameter of cylinder is fixed and diameter of actuator piston is changed in this experiment, response and leakage are measured. Also parameters such as roughness and processing accuracy are changed for piston of fixed clearance. Experimental setup modelled into several parts of actuator piston, cylinder, spool, and swash plate. Input pressure is changed by function generator and proportional valve. The result of this experiment shows that leakage increases very much in proportion to the increase of clearance, and especially leakage occurs enormously when clearance is more than 0.002. The response is not good because as clearance increases leakage increases and as clearance decreases viscous damping effect increases. Accordingly, it is found out that optimal clearance range exists for tile response, within about 0.0012∼0.0014, at this time. Futhermore, the better roughness and geometrical accuracy of actuator piston are, the smaller are leakage and friction. The paper informs that response and leakage are influenced by and geometrical accuracy of actuator piston, roughness of surface, and the clearance between actuator piston and cylinder, and that optimal design of actuator piston in the pressure compensator is possible.

An airship is statically unstable, because it has no wing, relatively small tails and a large hull. Hence, an accurate prediction of dynamic stability is critical. In this study, dynamic stability data of the 50m Length Airship were acquired through forced oscillation wind tunnel tests. The tests were done in Birhle Applied Research Inc's Lange Amplitude Multi-Purpose(BAR LAMP) Facility located in Germany. The tests were composed with 16 static runs and 26 dynamic runs. As results, it is obtained that dynamic characteristics of the airship depend on the sideslip angle, the angular rate and its direction as well as the angle of attack. Generally, three directional moments have damping, but the normal force, the side force, and the cross-derivatives are unstable. The dynamic derivatives are not sensitive to the control surfaces, but nonlinear to the sideslip angle.
The stiffness of the asphalt concrete is represented by the complex modulus $E^*$, which is very important properties in the mechanistic design of flexible pavement system. The moduli of asphalt concrete were generally determined by dynamic modulus test. However, the dynamic modulus testing method is too complex, expensive, and time consuming to be applicable on a production basis. The IR(Impact Resonance) method has been shown to be a truly simple nondestructive testing method which produces very repetitive, consistent results. The major object of this study was to estimate of the effects on IR tests for determining modulus of asphalt concrete including impact position, specimen support condition, impact steel ball size and sampling rate. The variations of IR test results with various testing conditions are within ${\pm}2.7%$.
