This research investigates experimentally an effect on the properties of the high flowing concrete according to variations of concrete materials and site conditions. Variations of sensitivity test are selected items as followings; (1)Concrete temperature, (2)Unit water(Surface moisture of fine aggregate), (3)Fineness modulus of fine aggregate, (4)Addition ratio of high-range water reducing agent. And fresh conditions of the high flowing concrete should be satisfied with required range including slump flow$(65{\pm}5cm)$, 50cm reaching time of slump flow$(4\~10sec)$, V-box flowing time$(10\~20sec)$, U-box height(min.300mm) and air content$(4{\pm}1\%)$. As results of sensitivity test, material variations and site conditions should be satisfied with the range as followings; (1)Concrete temperature is $10\~20^{\circ}C$ (below $30^{\circ}C$), (2)Surface moisture of fine aggregate is within ${\pm}0.6\%$, (3)Fineness modulus of fine aggregate is $2.6{\pm}0.2$ and (4)addition ratio of high range water reducing agent is within $1\%$ considered flow-ability, self-compaction and segregation resistance of the high flowing concrete.
Since a substantial part of the total planktonic primary production is due to the activity of the picoplankton, seasonal change of chlorophyll a in the picoplankton, nanoplankton and microplankton was determined at four locations in Daechung Reservoir from September in 1998 to September in 1999. Chlorophyll a concentration (<$200\;{\mu}m$) was $0.7{\sim}36.9\;{\mu}g/l$ In TAE (Taejeon site), $0.5{\sim}23.5\;{\mu}g/l$ in MAN (Man site), $1.9{\sim}20.1\;{\mu}g/l$ in HOE (Hoenam site), and $0.5{\sim}17.4\;{\mu}g/l$ in DAM (Dam site). Generally it was observed the highest concentration of chlorophyll a was in September and the lowest in April to June. The relative contribution of chlorophyll a of each fraction was changed dramatically through the year. Relative contribution of chlorophyll a of microplankton was high from June to October, and low in March in all locations except HOE. However chlorophlyll a concentration of picoplankton fraction was $2.0{\sim}24.3%$ of total chlorophyll a (<$200\;{\mu}m$) through the year and did not show any dramatic changes at all locations.

As a method of countermeasure to bed degradation and armoring phenomena of bed material in the downstream area of dam reservoirs, sediment augmentation (replenished sediment) has been carried out in many Japanese rivers. In general, bed of the replenished sediment site is composed of rocks, because the site is located in the downstream area of the dams and sediment supply is very small. Bed deformation process has been researched by many researchers. However, most of them can treat movable bed only and cannot be applied to the bed deformation process of sediment on rocks. If the friction angle between the sediment and the bed surface is assumed to be the same as the friction angle between the sediment and the sediment, sediment transport rate must be smaller without sediment deposition layer on the rocks. As a result, the reproduced bed geometry is affected very well. In this study, non-equilibrium transport process of non-cohesive sediment on rigid bed is introduced into the horizontal two dimensional bed deformation model and the model is applied to the erosion process of replenished sediment on rock in the Nakagawa, Japan. Here, the Japanese largest scale sediment augmentation has been performed in the Nakagawa. The results show that the amounts of the eroded sediment and the remained sediment reproduced by the developed numerical model are $56300m^3$ and $26800m^3$, respectively. On the other hand, the amounts of the eroded sediment and the remained sediment measured in the field after the floods are $56600m^3$ and $26500m^3$, respectively. The difference between the model and field data is very small. Furthermore, the bed geometry of the replenished sediment after the floods reproduced by the developed model has a good agreement with the measured bed geometry after the floods. These results indicate that the developed model is able to simulate the erosion process of replenished sediment on rocks very well. Furthermore, the erosion speed of the replenished sediment during the decreasing process of the water discharge is faster than that during the increasing process of the water discharge. The replenished sediment is eroded well, when the top of the replenished sediment is covered by the water. In general, water surface level is kept to be high during the decreasing process of the discharge during floods, because water surface level at the downstream end is high. Hence, it is considered that the high water surface level during the decreasing process of the water discharge affects on the fast erosion of the replenished sediment.
This paper is to investigate the characteristics of debris flow landslides in Gangwon Province through literature review, data collection and analyses and site investigation. As results of data analyses about landslides occurred currently in this province, the landslide in the form of debris flow is found to be 55 %. Therefore major loss and costs are caused by discharge of soil and rock fragments from landslide. From results of analyzing the geometrical characteristics of landslide, length of most of landslide is less than 200 m, their width is in the range of 10 - 40 m, most of them are know to be occurred in lower elevation than 400 m. Slope angle is in the range of 25 - 35 degrees. Comparing the period of rainfall intensity with the time of landslide being occurred, occurrence of landslide is quite related to duration of a heavy rainfall. For measures of controlling water flow discharge and debris flow, considering geological and topographical ground conditions, appropriate selection and building check dam, erosion control dam and ring net is very beneficial for reducing the loss and costs caused by the landslide of debris flow.
This study aims at the development of DP-Model for the establishment of monthly optimal operation policy of single multi-puppose reservoir by which the water demand of downstream can be satisfied under the various physical constraints. Series, A. B. C. of inflow are selected out of future monthly inflow data which are simulated form the past monthly average inflow of Andong dam site. the neight possible alternatives in each inflow series are established in order that Andong dam can supply the water demand of Nagdong main stream of 30% to 100%. Nextly, the reservoir rule curves is derived for each alternative by the detailed seguential analysis of stroage, future inflow and water demand based on the reservoir continuite equation. Then, and alternative which can satisfy the objective function of system based on the rule curves in the exteream is determined as an optimal operation policy from the application of developed DP=Model.

Problems that arise from the use of groundwater can be minimized by connecting surface water with groundwater. We investigated the groundwater level at Osibcheon, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk Province, and performed borehole investigation. We then used the SWAI-MODFLOW model to analyze variations in groundwater level and discharge amount. We also discuss how to assess the potential of groundwater dams in Korean by analyzing the hydrogeological properties of the candidate site.

The fundamental study of hydrologic redesign of Donghwa area located in a sccond tributary of Seomjin river was performed. The amounts of hydrologic design were estimated using the available cumulated hydrology data provided by Korea Agricultural and Rural Infrastructure Corporation (KARICO). The management status of The water resources in Donghwa area was also widely surveyed. The probability rainfalls, probable maximum precipitation (PMP) and probability floods were estimated and subsequently their changes analyzed. The amount of 200 year frequency rainfall with l day duration was 351.1 mm, 2.5 % increased from the original design value, and The PMP was 780.2 mm. The concentration time was reestimated as 2.5 hours from existing 2.4 hours. Soil Conservation Service(SCS) method was used to estimate effective rainfall- The runoff curve number was changed from 90 to 78, therefore the maximum potential retention was 71.6 mm, 154 % increased from the original value. The Hood estimates using SCS unit hydrograph showed 8 % increase from original value 623 $m^3$/s to 674 $m^3$/s and The probable maximum Hood was 1,637 $m^3$/s. Although the Row rate at the dam site was increased, the Hood risk at the downstream river was decreased by the Hood control of the Donghwa dam.

Dependence of the standard deviation of wind direction fluctuations, ${\sigma}_{\theta}$, on atmospheric stability, averaging time and topography were analysed with the data measured at three sites, Youngjongdo beach of the Yellow Sea, Chuncheon basin and Doam-Dam valley. The results show that the mean value of ${\sigma}_{\theta}$ is large in complex terrain, the Doam-Dam site. It is notable that the large value of ${\sigma}_{\theta}$ at night is associated with the low wind speed and the strong stable condition. In order to study the long-period fluctuations of the wind direction, ${\sigma}_{\theta}$ for longer than 10 minutes averaging time was further analysed using the data obtained at the Chuncheon basin. At the averaging time shorter than 60 minutes, larger ${\sigma}_{\theta}$ is associated with longer averaging time in the strong stable condition. However, ${\sigma}_{\theta}$ was not affected significantly by wind speed and averaging time in neutral conditions. The results of the spectrum analysis for the time series data of wind direction showed that low-frequency fluctuations ranging from 10 to 60 minutes were dominated at the Chuncheon basin in strong stable condition.
This study intends to propose the fundamentals of 'Ecovillage' design by researching into the cycle system of material of 'Crystalwaters' which is having been in charge of a leading role of GEN since 1996 (GEN was formed in 1996) as Ecovillage in Australia. First, to secure the water resources, we can store up rain and the water of valley, and dam. Second, we are able to use the natural filter apparatus, do tree-planting of roof to gain better quality of water. Third, it is to save the energy as supplying water. For it, we make the best of a gravity that is one of the cycle principle of water. Forth, to build a Dam can make a site of scenic beauty, do the role of recreation place and provide against emergencies (a fire, drought) as well as make a mild climate. Fifth, it can reduce the environment load because of sewage and garbage as making it compost. This is possible by treating biologically using composting apparatus of the dry or wet process. Sixth, it is to reduce the environmental pollution as to discharge seperating a recycable waste, an organic matter being able to make it compost. Finally, first of all, environmentally friendly inhabitant consciousness from lifestyle and production style plays an importent part for water cycle and the ecological cycle of waste and sewage.
The long-term behavior of rockfill material used in the construction of infrastructures such as dams is of great significance. Because of concerns about the application of weak rockfill material in dam construction, further experimental studies on the behavior of these materials are required. In this study, laboratory experiments were performed to investigate the one-dimensional deformation and particle breakage of the weak rockfill material under stress. A one-dimensional compression apparatus was designed and developed for testing of rockfill materials of different maximum particle sizes (MPSs). The compression tests were performed under dry, wet and saturated conditions on samples of rockfill material obtained from a dam construction site in Iran. The results of the experiments conducted at the specimen preparation stage and the 1D compression tests are presented. In weak rockfill, the effect of the addition of water on the behavior of the material was uncertain as there were both an increases and decreases observed in particle breakage. Increasing the MPS of the weak rockfill materials increased particle breakage, which was similar to the behavior of strong rockfill material. In all of the MPSs examined, the settlement of specimens under wet conditions was higher than that observed under dry conditions. Also, the greatest deformation occurred during the first hour of loading.
