  • Recently the trend that human emotions become central is strongly on the rise beyond functions in the area of space. In the present situation, the current study is to examine the characteristics of experiential space of emotions through an approach to space appearing in kinetic art paying attention to the fact that the new spatial expressions and forms of Kineticism lie in introduction of 'movement' as a phenomenon that humans who are main agents of experiences can perceive. For research methods, spatial expressions were proposed according to each characteristic extracting characteristics to create space through 'movement' of Kineticism, and the features of experiential space of emotion were elicited by analyzing sensible elements and perceptual characteristics which stimulate human sensitivity through expressive aspects of 'movement' appearing in the case. As a result, it was found that characteristics appeared including immersion through non-daily stimulation, empathy through visual·perceptual stimulation, syn-aesthetic experiences through stimulation of thinking senses, and perceptual activation through physical movement etc. Namely, the present study has its meanings in seeking another directions and possibilities as emotional space to activate experiencers' diverse perceptions and senses by analyzing the characteristics of experiential emotional space through 'movement' of Kineticism which is one of modern plastic arts.

  • The atmosphere strongly affects the Earth's spin rotation in wide range of timescale from daily to annual. Its dominant role in the seasonal perturbations of both the pole position and spinning rate of the Earth is once again confirmed by a comparison of two recent data sets; i) the Earth orientation parameter and ii) the global atmospheric state. The atmospheric semi-diurnal tide has been known to be a source of the Earth's spin acceleration, and its magnitude is re-estimated by using an enhanced formulation and an up-dated empirical atmospheric S2 tide model. During the last twenty years, an unusual eastward drift of the Earth's pole has been observed. The change in the Earth's inertia tensor due to glacier mass redistribution is directly assessed, and the recent eastward movement of the pole is ascribed to this change. Furthermore, the associated changes in the length of day and UT1 are estimated.

  • This study is on the 18th-century man's clothing excavated from Mr. Kim(1683-1766)'s tomb in Cheongju, Chungbuk in 2003. There are more than 100 pieces of excavated costumes from the tomb of Won-taek Kim. The excavated costumes have the value of genuine materials. Among them, 36 garments in good condition were investigated. As a result, there are several kinds of the excavated coats with different sizes, depending on the type of coats-Simui(深衣), Danryeong(團領), Sagyusam(四揆衫), Daechang, jungchimak(中赤莫), and Sochangui. These different-size coats reveal the degree of ritual; the length of the ritual costume is longer than that of the daily one. We can see two kinds (large and small) of coats, jackets, and pants. The large-size clothing is for the dead, the small size one as daily clothing was used for filling the empty space of the coffin. Among the excavated clothing from Mr. Kim's tomb, clothing for the dead(shroud) is bigger than man's daily costume. Concerning the form, color, and materials of the costumes, clothing for the dead is similar to daily clothing, while there is the difference in their size. The oversized costumes of coats, jackets, and pants are also different in size, matching the structure of clothing.

  • Due to their accessibility and 24-hr availability, convenience stores are an integral part of daily lives. Because they sell a limited number of products and have small shelf space, shelf space allocation and inventory replenishment are important considerations for inventory management that critically affect profit. In this paper, we propose five solutions for the vendor-managed inventory problem of convenience stores that maximize profit while considering stock-out-based product substitutions. The performance of the proposed solutions is evaluated via simulation to reflect the demand uncertainty and marketing activity.

  • Even though the balcony in apartment is considered as a necessary space rather than a supplementary one nowadays, we still have many problems in balcony. The utilization of balcony space in our daily lives are as follows: Laundry, Storage, Indoor gardening, Exercise, Hobby activities etc. Despite of these various functions of balcony, balconies were designed without taking them into consideration. Therefore balcony spaces are not functional and the lines of flow get more complicated. Until now, the studies of balcony were simply done on the utilizing pattern and the satisfaction degree of residents, not on connections between balcony location and utilizing pattern. Thus, the purpose of this study is to provide improvement guidelines for the utilization of the balcony space in apartment by examining the present conditions and multiple needs.

  • In the contemporary city, which is an information-oriented society, human is evolving for responding to the various situation. Because the city has changed into the multi-layered network system, which is different from the paths in the past, the paths in the city have become the usual space of life. The active programmed space which is corresponding to citizen's spontaneous activities should be reflected in the path of city However, the current subway station, which is the main path of the city, is not equipped with the elements responding to the various possibilities of citizens. So this study suggests the programmed station as the extended space of citizen's daily lives.

  • Exhibition space emphasizes the experience in the space rather than viewing or appreciation of visitors. Because the experience spaces in today's life are limited, people experience rest, comfort, and sometimes extraordinary space experience through exhibition space. Exhibition space has changed from a static place to a space where visitors move and act with the exhibits to freely feel the space. Also, the static space expressed only with illumination and shadow becomes a new space different from daily space for users. This study analyzes the characteristics of phenomenological expression through such user-oriented exhibition space. This study is to analyze the characteristics of phenomenology through the exhibition experience space structure. It is to analyze and study on the characteristics of phenomenological expression of the exhibition experience space structure centered in the opinion of Merlo-Ponti that considers the experience of body among 'characteristics' discussed based on the study of the phenomenological experience published up to date and the viewpoint of Steven Hall that sees light as a subject of creating the space. This study is also considers how the perception of the experiencer is built in the correlation between the phenomenology and exhibition experience space by studying the relationship of the experiencer that is the common point of the exhibition experience space structure and the characteristics of phenomenological expression and analyzing the common point and difference of them. It also focuses on the space of dark whether forming any light rather than looking at the light which is the sense factor among the characteristics of phenomenological expressions. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze the case on whether there is any light or not applied to the exhibition experience space grounded by the theoretical materials of Merlo-Ponti and Steven Hall based on the characteristics of phenomenological expressions in the exhibition experience space structure and, based on the result, to set up the basics on the characteristics of phenomenological expressions in the composition of exhibition experience space.

  • An algorithm to automatically extract coordinate and time information from optical observation data of geostationary orbit satellites (GEO satellites) or geosynchronous orbit satellites (GOS satellites) is developed. The optical wide-field patrol system is capable of automatic observation using a pre-arranged schedule. Therefore, if this type of automatic analysis algorithm is available, daily unmanned monitoring of GEO satellites can be possible. For data acquisition for development, the COMS1 satellite was observed with 1-s exposure time and 1-m interval. The images were grouped and processed in terms of "action", and each action was composed of six or nine successive images. First, a reference image with the best quality in one action was selected. Next, the rest of the images in the action were geometrically transformed to fit in the horizontal coordinate system (expressed in azimuthal angle and elevation) of the reference image. Then, these images were median-combined to retain only the possible non-moving GEO candidates. By reverting the coordinate transformation of the positions of these GEO satellite candidates, the final coordinates could be calculated.

  • This thesis attempted to generate ideal tea culture space that connects environment and culture. Therefore, this examines: First, history of tea and the characteristics of tea culture space from Gochosun to modern times was reviewed Second, psychological factors (spirit of tea) of Korea tea culture space were reviewed. Third, the connection between the concept of tea culture space and Human Ecosystem Model by was analyzed. Also, this thesis examined how the culture of ecosystem and why tea culture space is needed. because tea includes varieties of ingredients for protecting environmental pollution. Finally, tea culture spaces were reviewed each region during Chosun dynasty, and tea culture space of recent tea users. In order to study tea culture space, complex residential area and single residential areas were compared. The useful of tea culture space as a ecological space was also examined. To achieve the purpose of this study, related literatures were reviewed, and investigations of museums and a survey on modern living space were also conducted. The results show that the space of our tea culture were affected by nature worshipping of Gochosun, Buddhism of Koryo, and Confusianism of Chosun with 'Pungryu', the idea that enjoys nature, thereby applying environment-friendly ecological beauty to their living space and life. The cultyral space in Korea is composed of natural environment such as mountain, sea, rock, or trees and artificial environment such as pond or pavilion. In the future, oriental culture with metaphysical value will lead the world culture, and especially, tea culture would play an important role regardless of nationality, race, religion, and ideology. Therefore, establishing a tea culture space in a living space would be the fundamental methods that would be able to settle down such tea life into our daily life. Our attempts to create ecological tea culture space as a integrated cultural space of natural, artificial, and human behavioral environment will contribute to enhance our quality of life.
