  • This paper is on the DSP system design and implementation for real time MPEG-2 AAC multichannel audio, and MPEG-4 object oriented audio coding. This DSP system employs two DSPs of the state of the art TMS320C6701, developed by TI semiconductor. DSP board has PCI interface for downloading application program and control the system. DSP board was designed to use for both encoder and decoder, by setting several switches. The system contains external input and output box also, for A/D and D/A conversion for eight channel audio. The input box converts multi channel digital audio to ADI format, that provides serial interface for eight channel digital audio. And the output box converts ADI format signal to multi channel audio. Through this ADI interface, DSP boards can be connected to input, output box. Implemented DSP system was tested for integration with MPEG-2 AAC encoder and decoder S/W. Currently the DSP system performs realtime AAC 4-channel audio encoding with two DSPs, and 8-channel decoding with one DSP.

  • A high speed control system for a telerobot using DSP is developed. The system is designed to resolve computational burden in advanced algorithms. The design is assumed to h ave no specific algorithm and robot configuration. The system is composed of a teaching box, a DSP board, a set of servo drivers and 16 bit microcomputer system. The teaching box is designed as a man-machine interface, which has two joysticks with three degrees of freedom for velocity generation in Cartesian space. The DSP board, i.e. DSP56000ADS based on a 10.25MIPS digital signal processor, DSP56001, computes the inverse Jacobian matrix which transforms Cartesian velocity into joint velocity. A resolved motion rate control algorithm for a 5 degrees of freedom manipulator was implemented. About 100 Hz sampling rate was achieved in this system.

  • A Impulse denosing filter design of image for the faster processing time and system compatibility using DSP processor is presented on this paper The system hardware is composed of the stand-alone board with 32 bits DSP processor and vision board for image data acquisition with NTSC CCD camera, and the host computer controls them. The denoising method uses the adaptive median filter. The experiment result is that the system leads to denosing effect as 90% and PSNR 22㏈

  • This paper introduces a system which offers the possibility to access remote CAN devices over the Internet as if they were local. The system consists of a local computer and the DSP server. The DSP is connected to a CAN bus with a DC motor and to a Internet simultaneously. The DSP board consists of a LAN controller and a CAN controller. It can convert to a protocol between CAN and Internet. The DSP board is not based on a personal computer. This board is profited a small and light system.

  • Digital fetal monitoring system based on the personal computer combined with the digital signal processing (DSP) board was implemented. The DSP board acquires and digitally processes ultra- sound fetal Doppler signal for digital signal conditioning, rectification, low -pass filtering, autocorrealtion function calculation and its peak detection. The personal computer interfaced with the DSP board is in charge of graphic display, hardcopy, data transmission and on -line analysis of fetal heart rate change including on - line warning system, base -line estmation, acceleration, deceleration and variability. It is one of the most suitable situation to apply the DSP chip for siganl conditioning, digital filtering of ultrasound fetal Dopier signal and fetal heart rate estimation using autocorrelation technique .

  • A relaying board is developed for the study of digital relay, which is based on Digital Signal Processor(DSP). The present development is capable of understanding and application for digital relay hardware. To support the design of relaying hardware, first A/D convertor MMI and serial port for communication are embedded, and next a booting cables of three types are supplied. More particularly the relaying board that is convinient to test digital relaying algorithm. This paper concludes by implementing the distance relaying algorithm into a relaying board, the hardware test results show practically high performance.

  • Modeling a virtual reader and tags, the emulator system is realized by using a commercial signal generation device to make signal, a data collection equipment, and DSP board. By using a Virtual UHF RFID (860 ~ 960 [MHz]) reader/tags module, a developed RFID reader, protocol of tag, and properties of RF support to provide the way how to verify the suitability to international standards (ISO 18000-6 Type C, EPCglobal C1G2). In this paper, to implement a proposed model reader and tag model, Visual DSP is applied by using DSP board, composing the system's signal generators, signal analyzers and performance verification, the target readers or tags, RFID emulator control computesr and control programs.

  • The adaptive filter is proposed for removing EOG from measured EEG on the frontal lobe. The proposed adaptive filter has been implemented and the feedback output control algorithm has been employed to control the alpha wave ratio on the basis of TMS320C31 DSP board with the on-line and real time performance. The feedback algorithm controls the input voltage of stimulating devices on the portable bio-feedback system. The EEG data are acquired at the $F_{p1}$ and $F_{p2}$ localization and are processed by the proposed adaptive filter. We demonstrated that the proposed adaptive filter could effectively remove EOG from the measured EEG on the frontal lobe and the feedback algorithm is proper to control the output voltage of DSP board using the ratio of the alpha wave.

  • The electrical current generated by heart creates not only electric potential but also a magnetic field. In this paper, we have designed the multiplexing data acquisition system for multichannel bio-magnetic signal measurement. The system consists of VXI rack which is organized MUX and AD board, Industrial rack which is mounted single board computer and DSP board. This system enable to realtime monitoring of multichannel data simultaneously. The number of channel could be increased simply added each module and firmware could be upgraded easily using host port interface of DSP.

  • To implement the continuously evolving mobile communication standards such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 5G, the Software Defined Radio (SDR) concept provides great flexibility and efficiency. For many years, a high-end Digital Signal Processor (DSP) System on Chip (SoC) has been developed to support multicore and various hardware coprocessors. This paper introduces the implementation of the SDR platform hardware using TI's TCI663x chip. Using the platform, LTE transport channel is implemented by interworking multicore DSP with Bit rate Coprocessor (BCP) and Turbo Decoder Coprocessor (TCP) and the performance is evaluated according to various implementation options. In order to evaluate the performance of the implemented LTE transport channel, LTE base station system was constructed by combining FPGA main board for physical channels, SDR platform board, and RF & Antenna board.
