  • In this research, the digital signal processing PC board which employs TI's TMS320C25 is implemented. The board can perform following functions. spectrum analysis of speech and repetitive signal, digital filters emulation by convolution, signal generation of sinusoidal wave, rectangular wave etc.. In this system, communications between PC and DSP board. program down-loading to DSP board and recording and graphic of acquired and processed data in DSP board are executed by PC. Parallel interface and buffer memory are used in communications. Data acquisition and operation are carried out in DSP board. Resultant data are transmitted to PC and output through DAC.

  • Spindle motor current is used to estimate the cutting force indirectly and control the feed rate for the cutting force regulation. The proposed algorithm is implemented to a DSP board based hardware for the industrial application. The software to make POP terminal communicate with the DSP board and POP server is coded under Windows 95 environment. Experiments under varying cutting conditions show that the DSP board recognizes the information of installed cutting tool and cutting conditions delivered from the POP server to use them for the proper control of the feed rate. The cutting force is regulated well during machining of tapered or stepped workpiece and circular shaped workpiece as well.

  • The implementation of the voice dodec is imjplemented by using TMS320C30, which is the floating point DSP chip from Texas Instrument. QCELP (Qualcomm Code Excited Linear Prediction) is used to encode and decode the voice. The QCELP code is implemented by the TMS320C30 C-dode. The DSP board is controlled by the PC. The PC program tranfors the voice file from and to the DSP board, which is also implemented by C-code. The voice is encoded by the DSP board and the encoded data is transferred to PC to be stored as a file. To hear the voice. the voice data file is sent to DSP board and decoded to synthesize audible voice. Two flags are used by both programs to notify the status of the operation. By checking the flags, DSP and PC decides when the voice data is transferred between them.

  • This paper proposed a platform which includes both Network processor and DSP for flexible IED. The Network processor is one of the Intel's IXP4XX Product Line family and the DSP is one of the TI's C6000 family. An embedded Linux is ported in Network processor so that a DSP program can be downloaded to Network processor through ethernet and then downloaded to DSP. Using this method, various algorithms according to IED can be applied to the Network processor board. Maximum ten ADCs can be connected because there is a CPLD between DSP and ADC. That is, the network processor board which can measure maximum 40 channels is implemented. In DSP program, thread and double buffering methods are used not to miss voltage samples. The Network processor board is verified using a method that eight channel voltage signals converted to digital are transmitted to server through both DSP and IXP425.

  • In this paper, we implement the system for speech processing to provide the subscribers who are using the telephone network with better speech services. We develop the specified board which is processing speech signal and devise the system which carries out storing and replaying the speech signal under the condition that one master board controls multiple DSP(Digital Signal Processing) boards using VME bus. We use CPU30 board as a maste board and develop SPM(Signal Processing Module) board as a DSP board and then evaluate performance of the system.

  • A diagnosis system which can monitor tool breakage and chipping in real time was developed using a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) board in face milling operation. AR modelling and band energy method were used to extract the feature of tool states from cutting force signals. Artificial neural network embedded on DSP board discriminates different patterns from features got after signal processing. The features extracted from AR modelling are more accurate for the malfunction of a process than those from band energy method, even though the computing speed of the former is slow. From the processed features, we can construct the real time diagnosis system which monitors malfunction by using a DSP board having a parallel processing capability.

  • Real-time RELP vocoder is implemented on the TMS320C25 DSP chip. The implemented system is IBM-PC add-on board and composed of analog in/out unit, DSP unit, memoy unit, IBM-PC interface unit and its supporting assembly software. Speech analyzer and synthesizer is implimented by DSP assembly software. Speech parameters such as LPC coefficients, base-band residuals, and signal gains is extracted by autocorrelation method and inverse filter and synthesized by spectral folding method and direct form synthesis filter in this board. And then, real-time RELP vocoder with 9.6Kbps is simulated by down-loading method in the DSP program RAM.

  • Digital signal processors(DSP) are widely used in modern power conversion devices, ac motor drives. However, generating pulse-width modulation(PWM) gating signals requires so high sampling rates that most computation resources of the DSP must be devoted to generating them. This paper presents an ASIC realization of 2 channel space-vector PWM(SVPWM). The developed DSP(ECLDSP) board can transmit gating signals to 2 converter/inverter and control them. ECLDSP board is used for control the various kinds of power-quality improvement systems.

  • Digital FHR monitoring system based on the personal computer combined wi th the digital signal processing (DSP) board was implemented. The DSP board acquires and digitally processes ultrasound fetal Doppler signal for digital rectification, envelope detection, autocorrealtion function calculation and its peak position detection. The personal computer interfaced with the DSP board is in charge of graphic display, hardcopy, data taransmission and on-line analysis of fetal heart rate change including on-line warning system, base-line estmation, acceleration, deceleration and variability. The advantages of PC-DSP based system can be summarized as follows: 1) Minimum hardware realization. 2) Increased flexibility. 3) Total care system.

  • In this paper, we develop a TMS320C31- 60 DSP board to generate spiral gradient waveforms for Spiral imaging, one of the ultra fast MRI methods. In Spiral imaging, accurate gradient waveforms are very important to acquire high quality image. For this purpose, sampling rate for generating the gradient waveforms is set twice as high as the data sampling rate. With the developed DSP board accurate gradient waveforms are obtained. Ultra fast MR image with the developed DSP board is currently under development.
