Among the P2P based multimedia streaming architecture, multiple chain architecture has advantage in adapting to dynamically changing network topology simply and rapidly, so this architecture is used for UCC broadcasting system. In UCC broadcasting system, general peer involved in DSLAM becomes UCC server rather than broadcasting system that transfers data from ISP servers. Therefore UCC data generated from UCC server peers is transmitted to peers through DSLAM, and this transmission uses uplink bandwidth of DSLAM. In this paper, I propose an efficient management method of DSLAM uplink bandwidths through negotiating tracker and UCC server peer or head peers of DSLAM. I propose the method that tracker restricts a bitrate of uplink stream of UCC servers when used uplink bandwidth of DSLAM exceeds a certain point of maximum uplink bandwidths. I will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM by numerical analysis and simulation.

가입자망은 원래 전화 서비스를 위해 사용되었으나 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하기위해 x-DSL기술을 기반으로 하는 가입자망 광대역화에 관심을 가지게 되었다. 특히 멀티미디어 서비스 비대칭성을 이용한 ADSL기술이 각광 받고 있다. 이 기술을 이용한 ATM 서비스가 가능하게 되어 DSLAM이라 불리우는 엑세스 멀티플렉서 장비의 개발 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 DSLAM에서 사용할 수 있는 셀 지연변이를 줄일 수 있는 버퍼관리 기법과 각 트래픽 클래스의 최대 대역폭을 보장해 줄 수 있는 대역폭관리 기법을 제안한다.

The tendency of the technology that is aggregated voice and data circuit is VoP, especially VoIP. But if we try VoP, we have to throw away well structured and well known TDM resources. In this case CLEC and ILEC will encounter lots of troubles about standardization of progress of network evolution, heavy cost of network construction and so on. Therefore in this paper, I suggest designing VoDSL terminal and its operation environment (such as DSLAM) based on TDM. This designed VoDSL terminal can be installed with the DSLAM between PSTN and ISP without any additional facilities. This is more convenient low cost, operation and easier to construct than VoP.

In this paper, we propose an UCC broadcasting system in P2P based IPTV environments. Proposed system applies P2P based multiple chain architecture. UCC broadcasting system transfers data from not ISP server but UCC server peer that is included in DSLAM to joined peers. Therefore an algorithm to manage join and departure of peers have to modified. In this paper we propose an algorithm that does not increase an uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server when peer joins to the UCC channel. We will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server.

ATM over xDSL으로 구성된 광대역 가입자 망을 통하여, ATM 망에 접속하려 할 때에는 DSL 접근 다중화기(Access Multiplexer)가 필수적으로 요구된다. 이 때 광대역 통합 서비스라는 가입자 망의 기본적인 목적을 달성하기 위하여, DSL 접근 다중화기는 ATM 계층에서의 트래픽 제어를 수행할 수 있어야 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 DSL 접근 다중화기에서의 트래픽 제어에 필요한 효율적이고 간단한 셀 스케쥴링 기법을 제안한다. 성능평가를 위한 모의실험에 의하면, 제안된 기법은 각 연결들에게 그들의 트래픽 기술자에 부합하는 서비스를 제공할 수 있으며, 아울러 연결들이 명세한 셀 손실률에 근거하여 차별화 된 서비스 품질(QoS)을 제공할 수 있다.Abstract When residential users access core network via ATM over xDSL, DSL Access Multiplexer(DSLAM) which processes ATM cells transmitted from customer premises, is indispensable. In order to fulfill original goal of residential broadband integrated service, DSLAM should be able to perform ATM layer traffic management, mainly QoS(Quality of Service) provision. In this paper, we propose an efficient and simple cell scheduling scheme applicable to access multiplexer such as DSLAM. According to simulations for performance evaluation, the proposed cell scheduling scheme is able to supply bandwidths conforming to traffic descriptors of the connections. Moreover it is verified that the proposed scheme has a CLR based connection discrimination capability.
