  • In order to evaluate the effect of permanent softening behavior on springback prediction, 2D-draw bending simulations were compared with experiments for friction stir welded DP590 steel sheets. To account fur the nonlinear hardening behavior, the combined isotropic-kinematic hardening law was utilized with and without considering the permanent softening behavior during reverse loading. Also, the non-quadratic orthotropic yield function, Yld2000-2d, was used to describe the anisotropic initial-yielding behavior of the base sheet while anisotropic properties of the weld zone were ignored for simplicity.

다상조직강의 기계적 성질과 조직특성 (The Characteristics of Microstructure and the Mechanical Properties of Multi-Phase Sheet Steel.)

  • 본 실험은 페라이트-베이나이트-마르텐사이트로 되는 삼상조직강의 기계적성질과 조직특성과의 관계를 연구하고저 하였다. 이를 위하여 서로 다른 열처리경로를 택하여 페라이트+마르텐사이트에(DP), 페라이트+베이나이트(F+B)의 이상조직강과 페라이트+마르텐사이트에 연질의 베이나이트를 함유시킨 삼상조직강(TP)을 제작하였다. 이들 이상조직강가 삼상조직강의 인장특성, 충격특성 및 stretch-flangeability를 측정하여 각각의 조직구성과 상호연관지어 금속조직학적으로 연구, 조사하였다. 실험결과, TP강의 경우 베이나이트 부피분율의 증가에 따라서 인장강도와 항복강도는 감소하나, 단면수축율 및 강도-연성 조합은 증가하였고, 페라이트와 베이나이트로 구성된 F+B강에서는 항복현상과 높은 항복비를 보였다. 충격특성은 DP강보다 TP, F+B강에서 향상된 충격에너지값을 얻을 수 있었고, hole expanding limit($\lambda$)시험에서도 DP강보다는 TP, F+B강이 우수한 $\lambda$값을 나타내었다. 이와같은 기계적성질의 향상은 베이나이트의 영향에 의한 결과로서, 이는 경질의 마르텐사이트보다는 연질의 베이나이트ㅏ 페라이트기지와 함께 쉽게 변형이 일어나 연성의 증가에 보다 크게 작용하였기 때문이라 생각한다. 본실험의 경우 27%범위의 베이나이트를 함유하는 삼상조직강에서 좋은 기계적 성질과 우수한 stretch-flangeability를 보였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a process for forming a MPa ultra-high strength steel sheet to reduce weight and improve product strength. To do this, we performed the initial process design based on empirical formulas in a handbook and experience of skilled engineers, and researched the effects of major process variables on spring back by analyzing the forming analysis and experimental results. This paper suggests an optimal process design of the seat rail lower parts, using a MPa ultra-high strength steel sheet. This satisfies the dimensional accuracy and strength requirements for the product.

  • High strength steels are widely used for lightweight automobile parts and the control of springback is very important in sheet metal forming. The object of this study is to develop the forming process for stair type side sill made of high strength steel, DP780. Stair type side sill with local formed area and geometry change area can improve stiffness and design freedom but there are a few studies for forming process. The forming technology considered in this paper is form type process, which have many advantages for farming of high strength steel compared with draw type process. Finite element analysis is carried out to predict formability and springback. It is shown that angle calibration of die is essential for reducing springback, and local forming involving bead is effective to control springback also. The effectiveness of local forming and angle calibration is verified by experimental.

  • Nowadays, car manufacturers applied many high strength steels such AHSS or UHSS to car bodies for weight lightening. Therefore, a variety of applied steel sheet to car bodies increased and the needs of simulation to evaluate weldability also increased in order to reduce the cost and time. In this study, resistance spot welding simulations for DP 780 Steel with 1.0 and 1.4 mm thickness were conducted with respect to lobe curve. 2 regression models to estimate tensile shear strength were suggested and they were second order polynomial regression model and optimized second order regression model. The performance of these models was evaluated in terms of the coefficient of determinant and average error rate.

  • The control of springback is very important in sheet metal forming since springback affects the dimensional inaccuracy of product. The object of this study is to design the manufacturing process for the improvement of the performance of seat rail by DP780. The influence of process variables such as bend angle and pad force on the springback has been firstly investigated through the comparison between the results of FE-analysis and trial out for initial design based on designer's experience. The process variables of the initial design have been modified in order to improve the dimensional accuracy of seat rail from the prediction of springback by FE-analysis. It was shown from experiment that the improved design satisfied the required specifications such as the dimensional accuracy and the strength of seat rail.

판재 신장플랜지성에 미치는 전단 공정 인자의 영향 연구 (Study on Influence of Process Parameter on Stretch Flangeability of Steel Sheet)

  • The quality of the sheared surface affects the stretch flangeability of steel sheet. The quality of sheared surface is influenced by several process factors such as die clearance, shape of cutting edge, use of counter punch, and shear. In this paper, the influence of these shearing process factors on the stretch flangeability of the HSS (DP980) was analyzed through a shearing and a stretch flangeability test. When the die clearance was 10%, the effect of these shearing process factors on the stretch flangeability was the greatest, and the use of an acute angle blade was found to be more advantageous in the stretch flangeability than a right angle blade. It was found that the stretch flangeability was improved when active bending was applied during shearing.

저탄소 2상조직강의 열처리공정 조건에 따른 기계적특성 변화

  • Recently high strength steel sheets with high formability for automotive parts have been being developed to meet the demands for passenger safety and weight reduction of car body. Among these high strength steels, dual-phase steels are regarded as one of the attractive steels due to their excellent mechanical properties including high strength and ductility. However, to be successfully applied to automotive parts they should be corrosion resistant enough to satisfy the required quality of car maker. This also requires their feasibility for galvannealed production including hot dip galvanizability. In this study has been placed on understanding the effects of heat-treatment(austenizing and isothermal treatment) on the microstructures and mechanical properties of a 0.06C-0.03Si-2.0Mn high strength steel for cold forming. The microstructure and phase distribution were examined with eth aids of SEM, EBSD, TEM etc.. Through the study the production of 590MPa grade DP GA steels with good formability and galvaniability were shown to be possible.

다양한 하중 조건에서 DP980 판재의 불안정성 및 파단점 결정시 DIC Frame Rate의 영향 (Influence of DIC Frame Rate on Experimental Determination of Instability and Fracture Points for DP980 Sheets under Various Loading Conditions)

  • The past recent years have seen an increasing use of high-strength steel sheets in the automotive industry. However, the formability and damage prediction of these materials requires accurate acquisition of necking and fracture strains. Digital image correlation (DIC) is used to accurately capture the necking and fracture strains during testing. The fact that single time points of capturing vary with frame rate makes the need for an investigation necessary. For the high-strength steel DP980, the frame-rate dependences of the final necking and fracture strains values are analyzed here. To eliminate the influence of gauge length, the strains were measured locally by DIC. Results for three specimen shapes obtained with frame rates of 1 and 900 fps (frames per second) were considered and based on them, triaxiality failure diagrams (TFD) are established. It was observed that after diffuse necking, the deformation path departed from the initially linear one, and the stress triaxiality grew with ongoing deformation. It was further revealed that the frame rate-dependence of the necking strain was rather low (< 2%), whereas the fracture strain could be underestimated by up to 8% when the lower frame rate of 1 fps was used (compared with 900 fps). In this study, this issue is investigated while taking into consideration the three different triaxialities. These results demonstrate the importance of choosing an appropriate frame rate for the determination of necking and fracture strains in particular.
