  • 텔레매틱스는 자동차에서 교통정보 및 여행자정보를 비롯하여 멀티미디어, 인터넷, 이-메 일송수신과 차량원격진단과 사고 시 센터로의 자동통보 서비스 등 자동차 운전자 및 이용자를 위한 서비스라고 할 수 있다. 혹자는 텔레매틱스를 새로운 기술로 분류하기도 하나 엄격히 말하면 텔레매틱스 자체는 기술이 아니고 ITS, 통신, 방송, 인터넷, 멀티미디어 등 각종 요소기술을 활용하는 자동차 중심의 새로운 서비스 영역인 것이다. (중략)

  • 벤처들을 위한 국내 비메모리 반도체 시장이 전성기를 구가하고 있다. 과거에는 메모리에 국한된 반도체만 개발해 해외 비메모리 반도체 업체들에 의해 '폄하' 당하기도 했지만, 지금은 그들과 어깨를 나란히 할 만큼 기술력을 과시하고 있다. 이는 한국이 휴대폰 빛 DMB 시장에서 발군의 실력을 발휘하고 있기 때문이다. 국내 시장을 등에 없고 세계무대로 진출할 발판을 만든 것.

  • The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication technologies is a key issue of the ubiquitous networks. So this paper offers the convergence of integrated telecommunication networks and broadcasting system, Advanced Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (AT-DMB), and the interconnection of them via the Media Independent Information Server/Service (MIIS). Then, this paper proposes the fast wakeup and connection mechanism with concepts for improving QoS and energy efficiency simultaneously. In the proposed convergence network, our mechanism places the key on the minimization of both the incoming service delay destined to a turned-off interface by using the broadcasting network and the additional energy consumption. This paper further evaluates the performance of proposed mechanism through the numerical and experimental analysis and has confirmed the decrease of both service delay and energy consumption.

  • In the field of video design, motion graphics tends to be realized to deliver a certain message properly incorporating basic motion graphics components such as space, form of expression, and time, and has continued to be used as a powerful communication tool. Many cases proved that title sequences were produced as a result of combination of a variety of quick images and effects with appropriately chosen sounds to meet the demands of audience. This study indicated that motion graphics began to be widely used as a more powerful video communication tool for title sequences and also applied for M-NET, DMB, CABLE TV, IPTV, and others.

Multi-band Folded Monopole Internal Antenna for Mobile Handset Applications (이동통신 단말기용 다중대역 폴디드 모노폴 내장형 안테나)

  • In this paper, a multi-band folded planar monopole internal antenna for mobile handset applications is proposed. The proposed antenna has multi-resonances, which is different from a conventional folded monopole antenna, and it provides a wide bandwidth at high frequency bands. The measured impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 3) is 180 MHz and 1880 MHz in lower and higher frequency bands, respectively. The proposed antenna can effectively cover most wireless communication bands including CDMA, GSM, GPS, DCS, PCS, and W-CDMA, WiBro and S-DMB.

  • Car Navigation market is rapidly emerging in Korea recently. And it adds the multiple functions which are various traffic and travel information, DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) TV, game, movie and music. It is evolving as a killer application device of Car Infotainment (Information & Entertainment). On the other hand, the technical barrier which is pushing into the market is low and the competition is intense in process of time. In the market situation, the design differentiation is embossed with important element. In this case study, focused on inkel which specialized in Audio/Video launching into the Car Navigation market with the new brand 'WideTouch', we tried to provide successful product design strategy based on proactive research on the market for the design differentiation through the target segmentation of the new generation, middle-aged and a woman consumer.
