The Effects of Dietary Supplementation of Feather Meal Digests on the Performances and Muscular Taurine Contents in Broiler Chickens (육계 사료내 우모 Digest 첨가시 생산성과 계육내 Taurine 함량에 미치는 영향)

  • its digests on the performance of broiler chicks and taurine content in broiler meat. A total of 100 broiler chickens were assigned to five dietary treatments; Control, PM diet(FM), NaOH treated FM diet(NaOH-FM), HN03 treated FM diet(HN03 - FM) and 0.5% synthetic taurine supplemented diet(Taurine). Treated diets were supplemented with FM or FM digests at the level of 5% to the control diet Treated diets were fed during the last 3wks of 6wks feeding. During the finisher period, weight gain of chicks fed FM treatments tended to decrease in general. Feed intakes of FM and Taurine were significantly lower than the control but were not significantly different from NaOH - FM or HN03- PM. Feed conversion rate(feed intake/gain) of NaOH-FM was significantly higher than those of FM and HNOJ - FM but not different from those of the control and Taurine. Taurine content of the control was highest in heart muscle(1482 J1.g/g) followed by leg muscle(778f.lg/g) and breast muscle(79 J1.g/g). Taurine contents of leg and breast muscle were significantly(P< 0.01) affected by treatments but that of heart muscle was not. Taurine content of Taurine treatments was highest in both leg and breast muscle. Taurine content of leg muscle was increased 170"10 by Taurine supplementation, 123% by FM supplementation, 122% by NaOH - FM supplementation and 63% by HNOJ- FM supplementation compared with control. Taurine content of breast muscle of Taurine treatment was 246% higher than the control, but other treatments were not different from the control. In conclusion, supplementation of feather meal at 5% level of broiler diet can enrich taurine content of leg muscle. Chemical treatments of FM were not effective in improving taurine enrichment of broiler meat.

The Study on the Odor Removal of Digested sludge using BIO-CLOD (BIO-CLOD를 이용한 소화슬러지의 악취저감에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, to investigate the feasibility of malodorous substance and organic matter removal by digest sludge in sewage treatment plants, ammonia, methyl mercaptan(MMC), and hydrogen sulfide($H_2S$) in a reactor submerged with BIO-CLOD(BIO-CLOD) and a reactor not submerged with BIO-CLOD(Non BIO-CLOD) were measured at 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours after the submergence of BIO-CLOD. Whereas the reactor in which BIO-CLOD was submerged showed an ammonia removal rate of 48% and high $H_2S$ and MMC removal rates exceeding 98% in 24 hours, the reactor in which BIO-CLOD was not submerged showed an ammonia removal rate of 45%, an $H_2S$ removal rate of 71%, and an MMC removal rate of 84% in 24 hours indicating the possibility of removal of malodor using BIO-CLOD. A nitrification was shown in which ammonia concentrations decreased over time while nitrate nitrogen concentrations increased and sulfur based malodor components were oxidation decomposed indicating that BIO-CLOD had effects to increase sulfate concentrations in the solution and that sulfate concentration increases and atmospheric $H_2S$ removal rates were correlated with each other. With regard to decreases in organic matter in reactor effluents, BIO-CLOD did not affect in a short period of time and when reactors were operated with HRT 12 hours and HRT 24 hours, HRT 12 hours was considered desirable in terms of economy.

Analysis on Space Environment from the Anomalies of Geosynchronous Satellites (지구정지궤도 위성의 오동작 사례를 통해 본 우주 환경 영향 분석)

  • While it is well known that space environment can produce spacecraft anomaly, defining space environment effects for each anomalies is difficult. This is caused by the fact that spacecraft anomaly shows various symptoms and reproducing it is impossible. In this study, we try to find the conditions of when spacecraft failures happen more frequently and give satellite operators useful information. Especially, our study focuses on the geosynchronous satellites which cost is high and required high reliability. We used satellite anomaly data given by Satellite News Digest which is internet newspaper providing space industry news. In our analysis, 88 anomaly cases occurred from 1997 to 2008 shows bad corelation with Kp index. Satellite malfunctions were likely to happen in spring and fall and in local time from midnight to dawn. In addition, we found the probability of anomaly increase when high energy electron flux is high. This is more clearly appeared in solar minimum than maximum period.

  • Recently, as the personal computers are supplied rapidly, they formed the nucleus of the computer system. But, because of the easiness that anyone uses them to go near easily, it is the fact that the security of personal computer is weakness. So, in the paper, 1 propose the technical method that minimizes the loss and leakage of important data. This paper implemented a crypto system for security of data file on personal computer and assistance storage medium. The way of encryption/decryption is applied by complexity method which mixed Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol, a typical RC4(Rivest Cipher version 4) algorithm of stream cipher and a typical MD5(Message Digest version 5) of Hash Function. For valuation implemented crypto system, three criteria is presented, which are crypto complexity, processing time and pattern matching. And according to analysis the three criteria the crypto system is verified the security, efficiency and usefulness. The crypto system is programmed with Visual C++ language of Microsoft. And so, as this is software system, we shall have a technical security system at a minimum cost for all personal computer.

  • Uses can share information and use resources effectively by using TCP/IP-based networks. So, a protocol to manage complex networks effectively is needed. For the management of the distributed networks, the SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) has been adopted as an international standard in 1989, and the SNMPv2 in which a security function was added was published in 1993. There are two encryption schemes in SNMPv2, the one is a DES using symmetric encryption scheme and the other is a MD5(Message Digest5) hash function for authentication. But the DES has demerits that a key length is a few short and the encryption and the authentication is executed respectively. In order to solve these problems, wer use a RSA cryptography in this paper. In this paper, we examine the items related with SNMP. In addition to DES and MD5 propose in SNMPv3, we chance security functionality by adopting RSA, a public key algorithm executing the encryption and the authentication simultaneously. The proposed SNMPv3 security module is written in JAVA under Windows NT environment.

Anti-inflammatory activity of a sulfated polysaccharide isolated from an enzymatic digest of brown seaweed Sargassum horneri in RAW 264.7 cells

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Sargassum horneri is an edible brown alga that grows in the subtidal zone as an annual species along the coasts of South Korea, China, and Japan. Recently, an extreme amount of S. horneri moved into the coasts of Jeju Island from the east coast of China, which made huge economic and environmental loss to the Jeju Island. Thus, utilization of this biomass becomes a big issue with the local authorities. Therefore, the present study was performed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory potential of crude polysaccharides (CPs) extracted from S. horneri China strain in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. MATERIALS/METHODS: CPs were precipitated from S. horneri digests prepared by enzyme assistant extraction using four food-grade enzymes (AMG, Celluclast, Viscozyme, and Alcalase). The production levels of nitric oxide (NO) and pro-inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$ and interleukin (IL)-$1{\beta}$ were measured by Griess assay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively. The levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), nuclear factor (NF)-${\kappa}B$, and mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) were measured by using western blot. The IR spectrums of the CPs were recorded using a fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectrometer. RESULTS: The polysaccharides from the Celluclast enzyme digest (CCP) showed the highest inhibition of NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells ($IC_{50}$ value: $95.7{\mu}g/mL$). Also, CCP dose-dependently down-regulated the protein expression levels of iNOS and COX-2 as well as the production of inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-$1{\beta}$, compared to the only LPS-treated cells. In addition, CCP inhibited the activation of NF-${\kappa}B$ p50 and p65 and the phosphorylation of MAPKs, including p38 and extracellular signal-regulated kinase, in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Furthermore, FT-IR analysis showed that the FT-IR spectrum of CCP is similar to that of commercial fucoidan. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that CCP has anti-inflammatory activities and is a potential candidate for the formulation of a functional food ingredient or/and drug to treat inflammatory diseases.

  • Digestibilities of nutrients and energy are among the most important parameters to be determined in feed evaluation research. The apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of protein, total carbohydrate (TCHO), fat, energy and amino acids were determined for 14 common feed ingredients using chromic oxide as external indicator with Israeli carp (Cyprinus carpio). The ingredients tested were; corn, corn starch, gelatinized starch, wheat middling, wheat grade inferior, corn gluten meal, rapeseed meal (solvent extracted), soybean meal (solvent extracted), blood meal (drum dried), feather meal(hydrolyzed), file fish meal (flame dried), sardine fish meal (steam dried), sardine fish meal (flame dried) and brewers yeast (dehydrated). The overall ADC values were high in Israeli carp showing high capacity to digest their feed ingredients irrespective of plant or animal sources. In addition the ADC of plant protein was high enough to support the successful supplementation of fish meal with other plant proteins.

  • The mathematics education circles in Japan has a variety of subjects. I want to speak w generally are considered on those subjects. Some of these subjects are as follows: (1) The ratio of students who go on to high schools is about 95 percent, so that it is h to solve how to design the mathematics curriculum for the poor scholars. (2) Though the effects of instruction at the schools does not betray the nation's trust, JUKU increase in number. Thus all teachers in schools cannot but endeavor to fulfil the responsibility. (3) Some of the junior high school's teachers suffer from the misconducts and violences pupils. Thus researchers of mathematics education in such schools tend to stagnate. 4) The tudents and pupils get good results in the examinations of calculation, but in the examinations such as word problems that require their judgements not so. Etc. t is not easy to solve or cope with the these subjects. or the subjects as (3), all teachers concentrate their efforts on the activation of lessons the heightening the pupil's will to learn. or the subjects as (4), the idea of mathematical thinking has be advocated since about 1960, recently the 'problem solving' are proposed and are studying. Lastly the researchers in the university are theorizing their own works and digest and utilize arge foreign's literatures. Furthermore a great number of teachers make an effort to research their calssrooms. But a great part of the results of their researches are utilized only in country. I hope, hereafter, that the effects of researches in Japan become known and ized to the foreign countries.

An Application of Electrostatic Repulsion Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography in Phospho- and Glycoproteome Profiling of Epicardial Adipose Tissue in Obesity Mouse

  • Phosphorylation and glycosylation are two of the most important and widespread post-translational modifications (PTMs) in an organism. Proteomics analysis of the PTMs has been challenged by low stoichiometry of the modified proteins and suppression effects by high abundance proteins, typically no-functional house-keeping proteins. In this study, a novel method was applied for not only isolating PTM peptides from intact peptides but also concurrently characterizing of glyco- and phosphoproteome using electrostatic repulsion hydrophilic interaction chromatography (ERLIC) packed with silica coated by crosslinked polyethyleneimine. For 2 mg tryptic digest of mouse proteome of epicardial adipose tissue with fat diet, 802 N-glycosylated peptides of 316 glycoproteins and 159 phosphorylated peptides of 75 phosphoproteins were identified using HPLC chip/quadrupole time-of-flight (Q-OF) tandem mass spectrometer.
