  • In order to determine procedures for a, pp.opriate model selection of technological growth curves, numerous time series that were representative of growth behavior were collected according to data characteristics. Three different growth curve models were fitted onto data sets in an attempt to determine which growth curve models achieved the best forecasts for types of growth data. The analysis of the results gives rise to an a, pp.oach for selecting a, pp.opriate growth curve models for a given set of data, prior to fitting the models, based on the characteristics of the goodness of fit test.

  • The objective of this study is to determine a near-optimal time schedule for processing necessary jobs in order to minimize total elapsed time. The fundamental assumptions are that jobs to be processed are classified into several groups and jobs within the same group are processed in succession in the flow-type GT line. A heuristic method by V. A. Petrov is applied to determine the job sequencing. In consideration of production quantity, group sequences and job sequences for each group are determined and the start time of processing for each job is calculated by computer.

  • We study multiplication operators on the weighted Banach spaces of an infinite tree. We characterize the bounded and the compact operators, as well as determine the operator norm. In addition, we determine the spectrum of the bounded multiplication operators and characterize the isometries. Finally, we study the multiplication operators between the weighted Banach spaces and the Lipschitz space by characterizing the bounded and the compact operators, determining estimates on the operator norm, and showing there are no isometries.

  • In this paper, we determine the structure of ${\kappa}-potent$ elements and regular elements of the semigroup ${\Omega}_n$of doubly stochastic matrices of order n. In connection with this, we find the structure of the matrices X satisfying the equation AXA = A. From these, we determine a condition of a doubly stochastic matrix A whose Moore-Penrose generalized is also a doubly stochastic matrix.

  • In this paper, we first present the properties of the graph which maximize the spectral radius among all graphs with prescribed degree sequence. Using these results, we provide a somewhat simpler method to determine the unicyclic graph with maximum spectral radius among all unicyclic graphs with a given degree sequence. Moreover, we determine the bicyclic graph which has maximum spectral radius among all bicyclic graphs with a given degree sequence.

  • This thesis presents a model to assign targets and to determine gun ammunitions required for naval surface warfare. Delivery errors of weapon systems and vulnerability of moving targets are analyzed, then probability to kill moving battle sihps is computed. A weapon-target allocation model is proposed by using the Out of Kilter technique. A model to determine ammunitions required for killing moving targets is also designed. The models are evaluated by simulation and sensitivity analysis.

  • This paper presents approaches for optimum rebate level of DSM programs to improve the rebate system and establish the systematic DSM plans. For an effective supply of DSM programs, it is very important to determine the rebate level of DSM programs. Customer's adoption of DSM programs is changed according to the rebate level. The case study shows the approaches and analysis methods to determine the optimum rebate level of the efficient lamp apparatus(electronic ballasts) in commercial sector.

  • Monodisperse aerosols containing spherical particles of known size, shape and density are the most widely used to calibrate particle-size measuring instruments and to determine the effects of particle size on the sampling device. However, these tests are time-consuming because monodisperse aerosols with different particle sizes are generated and tested in a series of experiments. Polydisperse aerosols may be used to determine the calibration or to simulate equipment under controlled laboratory condition. (omitted)

  • This study deals with the problem of water resources development by using bayesian theory. The purpose of this study is to develop the optimal decision model by applying bayesian theory which determine the optimal alternative in water resources development system. A relevant mathematical model to find an optimal solution formulated and then used in developing an efficient water resources that determine optimal alternative. A numerical example is solved to illustrate the algorithm developed.

  • Hydraulic computations to determine the elevation of canal bottom and mater surface for box type concrete culverts are discussed. Velocity and cross sectional area of flow are computed from Manning's formula. Aad then head loss and velocity head are considered to determine the elevation of bottom and water surface. For stress analysis, 13.5 ton live load and earth pressure are considered. Also longitudinal stress of box culverts is checked.
