  • Objectives: We classified items required for dental hygienists' ethics training by domains. We administered a survey on experts using the Delphi method to collect opinions for guiding future trainings. Methods: 33 participants were selected and analyzed using the Delphi method thrice. Results: For relationships with patients, the item "1.3.1.1 I can keep the confidentiality of the information obtained from patients, including mature minors, related to their specific disease and treatment during medical care as well as other personal information of the patients." had the highest mean value (mean=4.88). For medical and social relations, "2.3.2.2 I can understand how staff provide dental services as a team and explain a dental hygienist's roles and responsibilities that enable a team to function effectively." had the highest mean value (mean=4.85). For individual specialized fields, "3.1.1.1 I can explain the roles and responsibilities in public health of individuals, the public, the state and professional dental hygienist." showed the highest mean value (mean=4.82). Conclusions: We identified 3 categories, 14 sub-categories, and 53 items on the scope of training and standards for ethical competencies for practical applications in professional ethics training of dental hygienists.

  • Recently, as people have become more interested in health issues, their demand on forest trails for bush walking exercise has increased. The purpose of the study is to select barrier factors into forest trail for disabled using wheelchairs. As a result this, it has selected 31 barrier factors through the Delphi method. Of all the these factors, the information board of forest trails, showing the location of the trails, has indicated the highest score of importance at 4.50. Next, securing hiker' walking safety space has indicated an importance level of 4.44; both the slope of forest trails and the height of obstacles have indicated an importance level of 4.38; and the effective width of forest trails has indicated the highest score of importance level of 4.33. From these indicated levels of importance, the respondents of the Delphi method consider the safety of users of forest trail' as the most important factor while the physically disables are hiking. That is why these factors have resulted in acquiring relatively higher values.

  • This paper focuses on method of setting priorities for telecommunications Standardization in which usually includes prioritization, resource allocation, standardization schedule for each SWA is based on prioritization of SWAs. We mainly used the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and a modified Delphi technique as a method for planning process. Recently, rapid technology evolution in telecommunications fields increases the necessity of developing more and more new standards. Also increased complexity of technologies makes standards more complicated, more specified and more thick than the past ones. As a result, the number of SWAa(Standardization Work Areas) and SWIs(Standardization Work Iterms) is being increased continuously. Furthermore, rapid telecommunication environment changes such as deregulation, liberalization, privatization, regionalization, and globalization surrounding telecommunications standardization grows increasingly important. To cope with these challenges and to make the more efficient use of the limited standardization resources, i.e., time, financial, personal resources, we will suggest logical and rational approach that is a backbone of strategic plan for telecommunication standardization. The telecommunication standardization planning process involves a MCDM(Multi-Criteria Decision Making) process. The Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) is a kind of MCDM approach. Our method is based on a combination of a modified Delphi technique and an application of AHP(spreadsheet model). Analyzed data from Delphi technique is used as inputs to AHP. In addition we also focus on the technique how to combine group judgments and to handle a large number of comparisons.

  • Background: Yukmijiwhang-tang is one of the most common herbal formulas in Oriental Medicine. Yukmijiwhang-tang has been widely used as a herbal medicine to replenish Yin and tonify the kidneys for hundred years in Asian countries. Because of insufficiency in data, objective judgements about remedial effects have been difficult. In order to make objectivity diagnostic data, this research is developed. Purpose: The aim of the research is to make a pilot questionnaire for clinical use of Yukmijiwhang-tang. Methods: The questionnaire which includes symptoms and signs for Yukmijiwhang-tang is studied by the Delphi method. Results: By the Delphi method and score evaluation, 30 items of the initial copy of questionnaire are chosen for the research. Conclusions: By the Delphic survey among clinicians, a reference questionnaire for Yukmijiwhang-tang applications was suggested. Further research is necessary for modification of questionnaire by statistics and certification by clinical trial. research.

  • The purpose of this study is to diagnose the problems of mathematics education in Korea by conducting an in-depth analysis of international comparative studies, a Delphi method, and a survey. Further analysis of TIMSS and PISA results also reveals several negative aspects of mathematics education practice in Korea. The mathematics education experts' opinions collected by Delphi method were classified into 12 categories: private education and test-driven education, curriculum and textbooks, lessons, evaluation, teacher, learner, teaching aid and facilities. affective aspects of mathematics, discrepancy between a theory and a practice, preservice/inservice teacher education and teacher employment test, education policy, and overall. Another survey was conducted to focus more on the development of curriculum which is a pending issue. Considering the fact that mathematics education should contribute to improve practical aspect as well as elaborate theoretical aspect, this study lays a foundation of improvement of mathematics education in Korea.

  • Mathematical problem solving have placed as one of the important research topics which many researcher have been interested in from 1980's until now. A variety of topics have been researched: Characteries of problem; Processes of how learners to solve them and their metaoognition; Teaching and learning practices. Recently, the topics have been shifted to mathematical learning through problem solving and the connection of problem solving and modeling. In the field of mathematical problem solving where researcher have continuously been interested in, future research topics in this domain are investigated using delphi method.

  • Workshops and discussions on the community planning process and visions for the future have progressed with the cooperation of the administration, citizens and specialists. However, they require a technical proof. For this reason, it is difficult to achieve a standard, whereby city dwellers are satisfied. In this study, the Delphi method was selected as a support tool, and an attempt was made to grasp the intentions and interests of city dwellers. Then, the community planning process was applied by using the Delphi method for urban areas with sparse identification. Participants were residents and commuters in the target areas. Categories were 'environment', 'community' and 'cultural sensibility'. For reducing the cost and time taken by investigators, and to enable those living in the community to participate in voluntaries and flexibility, we used a web survey as an investigation method. As a result, we could express the regional characteristics, problems and community planning intentions of city dwellers. The results suggested the validity of web surveys in regional evaluation, and explained the visions for the future and response attitudes, as well as the existence of a new identification that gives consideration to voluntary and flexibility of participation.
