도서색인은 일종의 위치탐색 장치체계로서, 일반적으로 텍스트에 나오는 용어의 집합과 텍스트 속에서 그 용어가 출현하는 위치를 연결해 주는 역할만 한다. 반면에 DDC 상관색인의 용어는 페이지 수를 지시하기 보다는 분류번호나 혹은 본표에서 발견될 수 있는 이에 상응하는 범주어들을 가리킨다. DDC 색인은 DDC의 탄생 이상으로 그 중요성이 높다. 그래서 연구의 목적은 DDC 색인을 연구하는데 두었다. 상관색인은 본표나 보조표와는 정반대로 '표목 + 관점 + 분류기호'로 구성되어 있다. DDC에서 최초로 응용한 상관색인의 특성을 분석하여 그 기능을 종합하였으며, 또한 DDC 상관색인의 구조적 특성을 분석하였다.

이 연구에서는 DDC의 종교류(200)를 일관성 있게 전개하기 위한 새로운 보조표를 고안하기 위해, 291.1-291.9에 전개되어 있는 기존의 종교공통구분의 문제점과 DDC의 각 종교간의 세분전개상의 비통일성에 대해 상세히 분석하고, 기존의 다른 분류표와 선행연구에서 제시되거나 제안된 종교공통구분과의 비교분석을 통해, DDC를 위한 새로운 종교공통구분을 제안하였다. 기독교를 포함한 모든 종교에 이 종교공통구분을 통일적으로 일관성 있게 적용할 수 있도록 하기 위해 DDC 기독교류의 재전개방안과 함께 이 종교공통구분의 사용방안에 대해서도 살펴보고, 실례를 통한 검증과 분석을 통해 이 종교공통구분이 실제자료를 분류하는 데 있어 충분한 적응력을 가지며, 기존의 분류기호를 재전개하는 데도 무리 없이 적용될 수 있음을 보여주었다.

이 논문에서는 DDC의 최신판인 제23판의 주요 특징과 개정내용을 보조표와 본표로 구분하여 상세하게 분석하였다. 또한 DDC의 개정과정과 운영 및 관리에서 나타나는 여러 특징들로부터 얻을 수 있는 KDC의 개정작업을 위한 함의와 시사점을 제시하였다.

본고는 DDC 제21판의 이해를 위해 출판사의 서언과 DDC편찬위원회의 서문, DDC 제21판의 새로운 특징 등을 원출판사인 OCLC Forest Press로부터 한국어 번역권을 얻어 완역한 것으로 DDC 새 판의 내용을 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것이다. DDC 제21판의 사용법을 안내하고 있는 서론(Introduction)은 추후 게재될 예정이다.

이 연구는 DDC의 주된 성공요인중의 하나인 DDC 간략판에 대한 변천과정 및 특성을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 DDC 완전판과 간략판에 대한 전체적인 관련성을 바탕으로 두 판간의 발행년도 및 물리적인 특성을 포함한 비교표를 제시하였으며, 초판부터 최근판인 제14판에 이르기까지 판별 전개내용과 특성을 분석하였다. 또한 DDC 간략판에서 사용되고 있는 4개 보조표의 도입 시기 및 변천과정을 살펴보았다.

The effects of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and catalase on the toxicity of paraquat(PQ) were studied using diethyldithiocarbamate(DDC), 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole(AT) which are inhibitors of Cu, Zn-SOD and catalase in rats. Sprague Dawley rats were divide into 6 groups: control, DDC, PQ, AT, DDC+PQ, and AT+PQ group. The PQ (50 mg/kg body weight(BW); about half dose of $LD_{50}$) was administered with orally, otherwise AT(1.0g/kg BW) and DDC(1.0g/kg BW) were administered by intrperitoneal(iP) injection. The survival rate of rats in PQ+AT group was significantly decreased compared with PQ group while the difference of survival rate between DDC group and DDC+PQ group was not significant. The SOD activity after administration of DDC was decreased in liver, lung and kidney, but catalase activity was not changed. The catalase activity in liver, lung and kidney of AT treated rats was decreased, while SOD activity was not changed in this group. The effects of DDC and AT to the PQ toxicity was also observed in primary cultured rat Skin fibroblasts. The viable cells that was measured with MTT method, was decreased in AT+PQ treated group compared to PQ treated group, but the difference of cell viability between DDC treat group and DDC+PQ treated group was not observed. This result, AT potentlate PQ toxicity while DDC were not affect, suggested that the decreased catalase activity lead to elevation of hydrogen peroxide levels and PQ toxicity may be correlate with the hydrogen peroxide rather than the superoxides.

본 연구는 대학도서관간의 자원의 공유를 위한 DDC 표준재전개표 개발을 위하여 DDC를 사용하는 대학도서관들 중 재전개표 사용 여부에 대한 조사와 재전개 내용에 대해서 조사하였다. 이 연구에서 제시한 표준 재전개표의 주요 내용은 Table 2, Table 5, Table 6과, 000 총류, 100 철학 중 동양철학, 200 종교 중 불교와 동양발생 제종교, 300 사회과학 중 행정학, 400언어학, 800 문학, 900 지리 및 역사로 한정하였다. 본 연구에서 DDC에 임의규정이 없는 경우는 보편성의 원리에 따라 이를 적용하였고 그 외의 대부분의 재전개는 임의규정에 충실하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 대학도서관이 소장하고 있는 지식정보의 공유에 기여할 뿐 아니라 KDC를 개정하기 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the differences between electronical engineering class in KDC3 and electronical engineering class in DDC 19. The results of the study can be summarized as follows ; 1. The characteristics of the classification items in classification schemes of the electronical engineering fields is that KDC is classified by the vacuum tubes, electron tubes, special tubes, computers etc and DDC is classified by the microwave electronics, short-and long-wave electronics, X-ray and gamma-ray electronics, computers etc. 2. There is a blank in KDC and there are three blanks in DDC of the electronical engineering fields, but the total classification items number is much more in DDC than in KDC. This means that DDC is more classified than in the special classification items. 3. Classification items over 70% in the total classification items of computer fields in KDC, are classified a classification items of the short-and long-wave electronics in DDC. 4. There is a blank of computer fields in KDC and there are three blanks of computer fields in DDC, but the total classification items are many eighteen items. This means that DDC is more classified than KDC. 5. The sections of computers in DDC were established the 621.38195 classification item and the subsection of analogue computers in DDC were established the 621.381957 classification item and the subsection of digital computer in DDC were established the 621.381958 classification item. As we have seen, because of the development in technology and the subdivision of knowledge, the number of items is increased, and the terminology also become simplified and specified in the field of electronic engineering in KDC and DDC.

이 글은 DDC에 대한 포괄적인 이해를 돕기 위한 것이다. 앞으로 DDC 제21판의 성격과 구조, 7개 보조표와 각 주류의 특성과 사용법에 관한 글을 지면이 허락하는대로 연재할 예정이다. DDC는 십진식 분류법의 원조로서 우리의 KDC에도 많은 영향을 미치고 있다는 점에서, DDC에 입문하는 사람들은 물론 KDC를 사용하는 독자들에게도 유익한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 생각한다. ■ 편집자주

이 논문은 DDC의 주류설정에 대한 논리성을 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 어떤 분류법이든 군집화와 순차화가 선행된다. 주류설정은 군집화과정이다. 군집화 과정속에서 2차적으로 순차화가 고려되는 것이다. 따라서 분류법에서 군집화는 분류표를 구성하는데 가장 중요한 요소이다. 그렇기 때문에 주류설정에서 논리성이 강하게 요구되는데 DDC에서 각 주류는 특수도서관 개념에서 출발하였기 때문에 논리성은 약하다. 그러나 역사적 사실을 통해 주류설정의 논리성을 규명하고자 하였다.
