A book index is a locater system that ordinarily connects a set of terms from a text of a book to the page where they occur in the book's text. The DDC Relative Index differs somewhat in both of this matters. Its terms refers to classification notations and their corresponding category statements as found in the schedule text rather than to page numbers. The index is the final equipment of a classification scheme. The index is of primary importance to any classification scheme. Therefore The purpose of this study is to analysis DDC Relative Index.

This study intends to suggest a new table for religion of DDC. It analyzes the classes in 291.1-291.9 in DDC 21 and investigates the inconsistencies and other problems in the classes included in other religions in DDC 21. Comparing with each classes in various religions in DDC 21 and other tables suggested in other classificatory systems and former research, it recommends a new table of religion for DDC with the expansions and relocations of related classes including Christianity and examines its applicability to DDC using some examples.

This article analyzes the general characteristics and major revisions of the newly published DDC 23, including those of Tables and Schedules. Based on these and general background found in the process of revision and maintenance of DDC, it suggests some implications and ideas for the revision of KDC.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the development and features of the abridged DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification), one of the main factors for DDC's success. For the study, a comparison table including the publication years and the physical features has been presented based on the general relationship between the full edited DDC and the abridged DDC. In addition, the contents and features have been analyzed from the first to the latest (14th) edition. Lastly, the time of introduction of four supplementary tables used in the abridged DDC and its development have been investigated.

The effects of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and catalase on the toxicity of paraquat(PQ) were studied using diethyldithiocarbamate(DDC), 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole(AT) which are inhibitors of Cu, Zn-SOD and catalase in rats. Sprague Dawley rats were divide into 6 groups: control, DDC, PQ, AT, DDC+PQ, and AT+PQ group. The PQ (50 mg/kg body weight(BW); about half dose of $LD_{50}$) was administered with orally, otherwise AT(1.0g/kg BW) and DDC(1.0g/kg BW) were administered by intrperitoneal(iP) injection. The survival rate of rats in PQ+AT group was significantly decreased compared with PQ group while the difference of survival rate between DDC group and DDC+PQ group was not significant. The SOD activity after administration of DDC was decreased in liver, lung and kidney, but catalase activity was not changed. The catalase activity in liver, lung and kidney of AT treated rats was decreased, while SOD activity was not changed in this group. The effects of DDC and AT to the PQ toxicity was also observed in primary cultured rat Skin fibroblasts. The viable cells that was measured with MTT method, was decreased in AT+PQ treated group compared to PQ treated group, but the difference of cell viability between DDC treat group and DDC+PQ treated group was not observed. This result, AT potentlate PQ toxicity while DDC were not affect, suggested that the decreased catalase activity lead to elevation of hydrogen peroxide levels and PQ toxicity may be correlate with the hydrogen peroxide rather than the superoxides.

This study investigated relocations and expansions of DDC for the Korean university libraries using DDC to develop the standard relocations and expansions suitable for Korean situations. Contents of the standard relocations and expansions of DDC suggested by this study are as followed : Table2, Table5 and Table6. Also included are the Generalities class, Oriental philosophies from the Philosophy class, Buddhism and the oriental-origin religions from the Religion class, Public administration for the Social sciences class, the Language class, the Literature class, and the General geography and history class. The major characteristics of this study is that the standard relocations and expansions of DDC is followed by the options in DDC although it is followed by the basic systems in case that the options are not allowed.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the differences between electronical engineering class in KDC3 and electronical engineering class in DDC 19. The results of the study can be summarized as follows ; 1. The characteristics of the classification items in classification schemes of the electronical engineering fields is that KDC is classified by the vacuum tubes, electron tubes, special tubes, computers etc and DDC is classified by the microwave electronics, short-and long-wave electronics, X-ray and gamma-ray electronics, computers etc. 2. There is a blank in KDC and there are three blanks in DDC of the electronical engineering fields, but the total classification items number is much more in DDC than in KDC. This means that DDC is more classified than in the special classification items. 3. Classification items over 70% in the total classification items of computer fields in KDC, are classified a classification items of the short-and long-wave electronics in DDC. 4. There is a blank of computer fields in KDC and there are three blanks of computer fields in DDC, but the total classification items are many eighteen items. This means that DDC is more classified than KDC. 5. The sections of computers in DDC were established the 621.38195 classification item and the subsection of analogue computers in DDC were established the 621.381957 classification item and the subsection of digital computer in DDC were established the 621.381958 classification item. As we have seen, because of the development in technology and the subdivision of knowledge, the number of items is increased, and the terminology also become simplified and specified in the field of electronic engineering in KDC and DDC.

The purpose of this study is to analyze on the main classes of DDC. The DDC is a general classification system which aims to classify documents of all kinds falling in any knowledge domain. At best, the order of the main classes represents a mix of Baconian and Hegelian philosophy adulterated by the practical exigencies of organization a collection of books. Each of the main classes have been subdivided further into what are technically known as divisions. This division of knowledge into the nine main classes mirrors the educational consensus of the late nineteen-century Western academic world. The DDC thus scatters subjects by discipline, and the subjects are subordinated to discipline. The DDC has been criticised for its rigidity of division by ten at every step of its division. Division by the decimal classification has been likened to the Procrustean bed.
