Watermarking is one of the methods that insist on a copyright as it append digital signals in digital informations like still mobile image, video, other informations. This paper proposed an improved DCT-based watermarking scheme using quantized coefficients of image. This process makes quantized coefficients through a Discrete Cosine Transform and Quantization. The watermark is embedded into the quantization coefficients in accordance with location(key). The quantized watermarked coefficients are converted to watermarked image through the inverse quantization and inverse DCT. Watermark extract process only use watermarked image and location(key). In watermark extract process, quantized coefficients is obtained from watermarked image through a DCT and quantization process. The quantized coefficients select coefficients using location(key). We perform it using inverse DCT and get the watermark'. Simulation results are satisfied with high quality of image (PSNR) and Normalized Correlation(NC) from the watermarked image and the extracted watermark.
Zero-watermarking is a digital watermarking technique that can escape from data distortion and quality degradation by no watermark insertion into digital images to be watermarked. This paper proposes DCT0CRT, a CRT-based zero-watermarking technique in the domain of DCT. One of the DC and low-frequency AC coefficients of each DCT block chosen in chaotic way from an image is selected by testing whether it satisfies the CRT-based condition matching with the watermark bit to be embedded. Such selection information forms a key to extract the watermark from the watermarked image. Experimental results show that the image quality watermarked by DCT0CRT is better than that watermarked by any other CRT-based watermarking techniques and the inserted watermark is robust against some common attacks such as sharpening, blurring, and JPEG lossy compression.
When host images are watermarked with CRT (Chinese Remainder Theorem), the watermark images are still robust in spite of the damage of the host images by maintaining the remainders in an unchanged state within some range of the changes that are incurred by the attacks. This advantage can also be attained by "zero-watermarking," which does not change the host images in any way. This paper proposes an improved zero-watermarking scheme for color images on the DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) domain that is based on the CRT. In the scheme, RGB images are converted into YCbCr images, and one channel is used for the DCT transformation. A key is then computed from the DC and three low-frequency AC values of each DCT block using the CRT. The key finally becomes the watermark key after it is combined four times with a scrambled watermark image. When watermark images are extracted, each bit is determined by majority voting. This scheme shows that watermark images are robust against a number of common attacks such as sharpening, blurring, JPEG lossy compression, and cropping.
Watermarking is embedding a digital signal called as watermark into images to claim the ownership. In this paper, a new digital watermarking algorithm based on DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) which enhances invisibility and robustness is proposed to improve contentional digital watermarking method using DCT. In the proposed method, it is possible to enhance invisibility and robustness using watermark reordering in which the relative significance of original DCT coefficients can be preserved in watermarked DCT coefficients, and the distortions of original DCT coefficients can be minimized. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves invisibility approximately 9~12[dB] and is more robust to various attacks than the conventional method.
An informed watermarking algorithm is proposed in this work that aids in concealing packet loss errors in video communications. This watermark-based error concealment(WEC) method embeds a low resolution version of the video frame inside itself as watermark data. At the receiver, the extracted watermark is used as a reference for error concealment. The proposed DCT-based algorithm has features of informed watermarking in order to minimize the distortion of the host frame. At the encoder, a predictive feedback loop Is employed which helps to adjusts the strength of the scale factor Furthermore, some of the modified coefficients of the DCT signal are virtually free from distortion by employing bit- sign adaptivity. The performance of the detector is Qualitatively analyzed for error concealment applications where full-frame DCT embedding proved to be more advantageous.
In this paper, a robust watermarking technique is presented by using a block-based statistics in DCT domain. First, the proposed technique calculates JND threshold value using the global statistics in DCT domain. Then watermark insertion is carried out by inserting one watermark into coefficients which are above the threshold value J within a 2${\times}$2 block. Finally, watermark is estimated by averaging the extracted watermarks from the coefficients which are above the threshold in a window. In experiments it is shown that the proposed techniques can enhance perceptual invisibility and robustness against additive noise and JPEG compression attacks by using the characteristics of JND.
In this paper, we present a digital authentication technique using content-based watermarking in digital images. To digest the image contents, Hopfield network is employed on the block-based edge image. The Hopfield function extracts the same tit fur similarly looking blocks so that the values are unlikely to change to the innocuous manipulations while being changed far malicious manipulations. By inputting the extracted bit sequence with secret key to the cryptographic hash function, we generate a watermark for each block by seeding a pseudo random number generator with a hash output Therefore, the proposed authentication technique can distinguish between malicious attacks and innocuous attacks. Watermark embedding is based on the block-based spread spectrum method in DCT domain and the strength of watermark is adjusted according to the local statistics of DCT coefficients in a zig-zag scan line in AC subband. The numerical experiments show that the proposed technique is very efficient in the performance of robust authentication.

This paper introduces a 3D perceptual model based on JND(Just Noticeable Difference) and proposes a video watermarking scheme which is perceptual approach of adaptive embedding in 3D-DCT domain. Videos are composed of consecutive frames with many similar adjacent frames. If a watermark is embedded in the period of similar frames with little motion, it can be easily noticed by human eyes. Therefore, for the transparency the watermark should be embedded into some places where motions exist and for the robustness its magnitude needs to be adjusted properly. For the transparency and the robustness, watermark based on 3D perceptual model is utilized. That is. the sensitivities from the 3D-DCT quantization are derived based on 3D perceptual model, and the sensitivities of the regions having more local motion than global motion are adjusted. Then the watermark is embedded into visually significant coefficients in proportion to the strength of motion in 3D-DCT domain. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme improves the robustness to MPEG compression and temporal attacks by about $3{\sim}9\%$, compared to the existing 3D-DCT based method. In terms of PSNR, the proposed method is similar to the existing method, but JND guarantees the transparency of watermark.

This paper presents a rapid watermarking algorithm based on DC image, which provides a resilience to geometric distortion. Our proposed scheme is based on $8{\times}8$ block DCT that is widely used in image/video compression techniques (e.g., JPEG and MPEG). In particular, a DC image is analyzed by DWT to embed a watermark. To overcome a quality degradation caused by a watermark insertion into DC components, we discern carefully the intensity and amount of watermark along the different subbands of DWT. Note that the proposed technique supports a high throughput for a real-time watermark insertion and extraction by relying on a partial decoding (i.e., DC components) on $8{\times}8$ block DCT domain. Experimental result shows that the proposed watermarking scheme significantly reduces computation time of 82% compared with existing DC component based algorithm and yet provides invariant properties against various attacks such as geometric distortion and JPEG compression, etc.
In this paper, we propose an efficient watermarking algorithm using block indexing. The proposed algorithm is a novel blind watermarking scheme using the indexed watermark value based on the spread spectrum method. The watermark insertion is allocated into index value of each block after dividing original image into sub-blocks. The watermark embedded in mappinged with index values of blocks, And the mappinged blocks convert to DCT and then the PN sequence embedded to middle frequency band. Consequently the watermark is expressed by index value of sub-blocks. The watermark extracted from the correlation of between PN sequence and watermarked image. Experimental results demonstrate that the watermarked image has a good quality in terms of imperceptibility and is robust against various attacks.
