Design of the 1,500 A, 400 mH class HTS DC reactor (1,500 A, 400 mH급 고온초전도 직류 리액터 설계)

  • This paper describes the design of toroid-type HTS DC reactor magnet. Target operating current and inductance of the HTS DC reactor are 1,500 A and 400 mH, respectively. The HTS DC reactors were designed through electromagnetic analysis and 3D CAD program. And, we analyze the operating performance of the Double Pancake Coil module for the 1,500 A, 400 mH HTS DC reactor magnet under the liquid nitrogen condition.

  • This paper proposes a Push type High Frequency DC-DC Converter using Zero Voltage Switching to reduce turn on and off loss at the switching instants. This paper has a advantage which is able to operating safely in load short, because DC reactor is connected with resonance reactor in order to supply a fixed safely in load short, because DC reactor is connected with resonance reactor in order to supply a fixed current with low ripple from DC power supply. The capacitor $(C_1, C_2)$ connected in switch are a common using as resonance capacitor and ZVS capacitor. The analysis of the proposed high frequency resonance DC-DC converter is generally described by using normallized parameter, and we has evaluated characteristic values which is needed to design a circuit. We conform a rightfulness of theoritical analysis by comparing a theoretical values and experimental values obtained from experiment using MOSFET as switching devices.

  • This study is concerned with the optimal design of DC reactor type high-Tc superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) by Newton method. What should be first thought over in developing SFCL is the condition in which the cost function is minimized under given constraints. So, this condition is supposed to be the values corresponding to the variables the cost function counts on. In this paper, we got the result for the SFCL available at the level of 6.6kV-200A by means of simulation.

  • This study is concerned with the operation algorithm and power switch drive circuit for DC Reactor Type High-Tc Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL). In the case of SFCL, Power switching operation algorithm are very important problem. So, this driving will determine the performance of SFCL. In this paper, we provide a simple algorithm and easy drive circuit. Through experiment we found that ideal is right.

  • This paper deals with the DC-DC converter with high efficiency using the minimum reactor. In this paper, the proposed convert uses the air core reactor for ZCS(zero currunt switching) which can minimize the core losses and removes the over switching losses by soft switching. The proposed converter is verified by the modes analysis and computer simulation to prove the theoretical background and adequacy.

  • This paper deals with simulation of the three-phase dc reactor type fault current limiter(FCL). This is a preliminary step to develop the FCL's faculties for an application to high voltage transmission line. A three-phase dc reactor type FCL consists of transformers, diodes, and a superconducting coil. By this simulation for the short-circuit test we can investigate the safety of FCL's elements. And, result of simulation will contribute parameter toward optimal design.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the operational characteristics of the modified DC reactor type SFCL and derived the design condition of superconducting coil to be operated properly as power source as well as fault current limiter. It was confirmed through the simulation for the operation of this SFCL that the modified DC reactor type SFCL could be operated as both the uninterruptible power supply and the fault current limiter by controlling the duty ratio of GTO thyristor bridge.

  • 6.6㎸rms/200Arms DC reactor type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been developed. This paper deals with the manufacture and short-circuit test of the SFCL. DC reactor was the HTS solenoid coil whose inductance was 84mH. AC/DC power converter was performed as the dual-mode operation. The short-term run(1 sec) and short-circuit test of this SFCL was performed successfully. The experimental results have a similar tendency to the simulation results. In short-circuit test, at 2 cycles after the fault, fault current limitation rate was about 30%.

  • This paper describes that the resonant tank type DC-DC converter consist of reactor and capacitor resonant tank circuit for increased the output current. This circuit configuration is composed of the resonant tank circuit used resonant capacitor and reactor and the capacitor connected in switch are a common using by resonance capacitor and ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) capacitor. Therefore, the proposed converter can reduce a switching losses, noise, and voltage stress at turn-on and turn-on and has an advantage which is able to operating safely in load short, because DC reactor is connected with resonance reactor in order to supply a fixed current with low ripple from DC power supply. The analysis of proposed circuit uses normalized parameters and characteristic estimation is generally described the proposed circuit with the characteristics of power and output voltage etc. Also, design is based on the characteristic estmations in each step. Hence, We conform a rightfulness theoretical analysis by comparing a theoretical values and experimental values obtained from experiment.

  • The current-fed DC-DC converter, which is known as the most stable DC-DC converter, has a two-winding reactor in series with the input. In this paper the new multi-output DC-DC converter circuit, in which the 2nd winding of the reactor is creating the 2nd output, while the 2nd winding is feeding the energy to input in the current-fed converter, is proposed. The steady state characteristics of the new circuit are clarified. And it is found that the maximum value exists in the 2nd output.
