Zero-Flux Current Transformer, High stability and Wide Band Measuring For AC and DC Current. (넓은 대역폭과 고안정도를 가진 교류, 직류 전류 측정용 영자속 전류 측정기)

  • To store and maintain electron beams in synchrotron machines, it is very important to read and keep precise magnet current ($<{\pm}50$ ppm). However, accurate DC current measurement tools are not readily available. In this paper, we introduce high precision, wide band zero-flux current transformer that is manufactured and tested at Pohang Accelerator Laboratory. This sensor can measure DC as well as AC current. Accuracy of the current transformer is less than ${\pm}$20 ppm. Performance of the manufactured current sensor is compared with a high precision DCCT which is commercially available sensor.

Incremental Passivity Based Control for DC-DC Boost Converters under Time-Varying Disturbances via a Generalized Proportional Integral Observer

  • In this paper, the voltage tracking control of a conventional DC-DC boost converter affected by unknown, time-varying circuit parameter perturbations is investigated. Based on the fundamental property of incremental passivity, a passivity based control law is designed. Then, to obtain a better disturbance rejection property, two generalized proportional integral (GPI) observers are employed to estimate the time-varying uncertainties in the output voltage and inductor current channels, and the estimated values are applied as feedforward compensation. Moreover, the global trajectory tracking performance of a system with disturbances is ensured under the composite controller. Finally, simulation and experiment studies are provided to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed controller delivers a promising disturbance rejection capability as well as a good nominal tracking performance.

  • The main measurement uncertainty factors in DC high-voltage dividers for a national high-voltage standard are the measurement uncertainty of low-voltage arm and the stability of a high-voltage supply. In this study, the uncertainties by the two factors are greatly improved. As a result the measurement uncertainty for the DC high-voltage divider is reduced from $16{\times}10^{-6}(k=2)$ to $8{\times}10^{-6}(k=2)$ which is at international level.

  • In this paper, how the temperature of a varistor changes when $10/350{\mu}s$ surge currents and/or DC leakage currents are applied on it, respectively, are investigated. The temperature change in varistor is related with injection energy and leakage current. which is the integration of power in time. By the surge current test, we found that the temperature jump is proportional to the level of surge current with slant 52.535 and has no relation with the ambient temperature. And by the DC leakage current test, the difference in temperatures between varistor and ambient is proportional to the magnitude of leakage current. The slope of measured line(the temperature difference vs. the leakage current) shows alteration around $100{\mu}A$. The varistors can not be used more than $100{\mu}A$ region any more. From the above experimental results, we can conclude that data of the surge current test and also those of DC leakage current test can predict the performance of varistors of which the surge protective devices are made.

  • The traceability maintenance system for the AC voltage and current has been developed at the frequency range of 20 Hz to 100 Hz without using any compensation technique which is used at thermal converter (TC) ac-dc transfer system at low frequencies. The system uses a digital voltmeter (DVM) as a data acquisition system of the input waveform and stored data in memory. The developed algorithm acquires and processes the sampling data to calculate the root mean square (rms) value of the input voltage of DVM which operates at DC 10 V range for better accuracy. The best uncertainty of the AC voltage measurements is $3 {\mu}V/V$ within the frequency range. The best uncertainty of the AC current measurements is better than the $5 {\mu}A/A$ and mainly depend on the current to voltage converter, ac-dc current shunt or Current Transformer (CT), used for the measurement

  • In vector-controlled drive systems, the current measurement offset error causes unwanted torque ripple, resulting in speed and torque control performance degradation. The current measurement offset error is caused by various factors, including thermal drift. This study proposes a simple DC offset error compensation method for a surface permanent magnet motor based on a disturbance observer. The disturbance observer is designed in the stationary reference frame. The proposed method uses only the measured current and machine parameters without additional hardware. The effect of parameter variations is analyzed, and the performance of the current measurement offset error compensation method is validated using simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper presents a design of a 30kW 250V/530V bidirectional DC-DC converter to be used in an electrical car. A detailed explanation of the design is given. The system uses two phase shifted half bridge (boost and buck) topologies to reduce the ripple current in the output capacitor. The converter has an efficiency of 95% at nominal power. It works as a constant voltage in one direction and as a constant current in the other to charge the batteries. Simulations and measurement are done at high power to test the efficiency.

  • The main objective of the research is to Propose an algorithm that to estimate the screwing torque from parameters of DC motor current without using any stain gage and torque cell. The auto screw drive system is divided into two parts, one is the DC motor ind the other is mechanical part in which the friction torque and damping ratio are a function of rotational of spindle electro motive force constant. The torque is estimated from the friction torque. The research is concerned with applying the method to an auto screw drive and the advantages and limitations are also discussed in this paper.

  • A FB-ZVS(Full Bridge Zero Voltage Switching) PWM DC/DC converter for electric vehicles is simulated and implemented in this paper. The converter considered is a step-down DC/DC converter with the ratings of 312/13.5V and 1.35kW. The steady state operation of this converter is divided into six operating modes in case of continuous current mode and eight operating modes in case of discontinuous current mode. Digital simulations using PSpice are carried out to verify the steady-state analysis. A prototype converter was built in the laboratory. MOSFETs were used for swithching devices and fast recovery diodes to reduce the charge storage problem of a pn-junction.

  • 자성체 코어의 비선형 특성을 이용하여 DC와 AC 전류를 측정하는 Zero-Flux Current Transformer는 정밀 전류 측정용으로 많이 연구되고 있다. Zero-Flux Current Transformer는 DC 대전류 측정에 합당하며 저 전류 측정에 사용될 경우 소모전류, 안정되고 첨예한 필터 제작, magnetic modulator에 의한 zero point drift, 자화 전류가 비대칭일 때 출력 등과 같은 문제가 해결되어야 한다. 그리고 상용으로 사용하기 위하여 Hand-Held Type으로 제작되어야하며 동작시의 소모전류가 작고 정확도가 우수하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 자화 전류가 비대칭일 때 출력을 zero로 만들기 위하여 사용하는 필터와 복잡한 회로로 구성된 magnetic modulator 부분을 여러개의 peak detector를 사용하여 AC와 DC를 측정하는 클램프미터를 개발하였으며 그 특성에 대한 내용을 기술하였다.
