  • We report 1.6 Tb/s (160${\times}$10 Gb/s) WDM transmission over 2,000 km of single mode fiber using distributed hybrid(distributed Raman amplifier+Erbium-doped fiber amplifier) optical amplifiers. After transmission over 2,000 km of single mode fiber, average optical signal to noise ratios of C/L-band were 20.5 dB, 21.9 dB, respectively. The minimum Q-factors of each band were 14.65 dB (BER=5.8e-8) in C-band, 13.75 dB (BER=5.0e-7) in L-band without forward error correction. We performed 1.6 Tb/s error-free transmission over 2,000 km of single mode fiber using Reed-Solomon (255, 239) forward error correction code.

  • Microstrip interdigital filter is designed with the width and length of a resonator, the gap distance between resonators and the location of a tap. When designing filters, it is a benefit to design with few design parameters comparing to many design parameters. In this paper we design and implement two microstrip interdigital filters operating in the UWB(Ultra Wide-Band) frequency band, one using a fixed width of a resonator and the other using a different width of resonators. The test results of the implemented filters show that the low-band high filter with a fixed width has the insertion loss of 1.49dB, -10dB band width of 720MHz, -35.7dBattenuation at 4.8GHzand below -13dB of S11. The filter with a different width of resonators has the insertion loss of 1.6dB, -10dBbandwidth of 1.63GHz and below-8dBof S11.

  • The death toll of Colorectal Carcinoma in Korea was 1,826 and 7,721 in the years 1992 and 2011, respectively. This rate of increase was shown to be more than 4.23 times higher than that of any other form of cancer. Therefore, Colorectal Carcinoma requires various diagnostic methods, and Microsatellite Instability (MSI) was applied as a new diagnostic tool. From this study with several microsatellite markers, only marker #13 was detected and observed D13S160 13% (4/30), D13S292 13% (4/30), D13S153 10% (3/30) in order. From the results of amplication with microsatellite marker, D13S292 37% (11/30), D13S153 33% (10/30), D13S160 33% (10/30) in order were shown. The appearance of a genetic mutation, which depends on the loci of Colorectal Carcinoma, was shown amplication from rectal cancer (3.77) which was higher than that of right Colorectal Carcinoma (2.08) (p<0.018). The genetic mutation with lymph node (4.13) appeared higher than normal (1.93) (p<0.001). There were no great differences in the genetic mutation dependent on disease, histological classification and increased group of serum CEA. Accordingly, it is suggested that the correct primers, which can evaluate MSI well from colorectal carcinoma, should be chosen and that MSI be considered a good prognosis and quality control tool.

  • As technologies evolve, diverse 3D measurement techniques using cameras and pattern projectors have been developed continuously. In 3D measurement, high accuracy, fast speed, and easy implementation are very important factors. Recently, 3D measurement using multi-frequency fringe patterns for absolute phase computation has been widely used in the fringe projection profilometry. This paper proposes an improved method to compute the object's absolute phase using the reference plane's absolute phase and phase difference between the object and the reference plane. This method finds the object's absolute phase by adding the difference between the reference plane's wrapped phase and the object's wrapped phase to the reference plane's absolute phase already obtained in the calibration stage. Through this method, there is no need to obtain multi-frequency fringe patterns about new object for the absolute phase computation. Instead, we only need the object's phase difference relative to the reference planes's phase in the measurement stage.

  • In this paper, a microstrip bandpass filter(BPF) with 3 dB bandwidth of more than 50 % at center frequency of 30 GHz was implemented. The implemented BPF is to be used as ASK(Amplitude Shift Keying) transmission and reception filters in IF band for THz transmitter and receiver capable of 10 Gb/s wireless data transmission. The microstrip BPF with ultra-wideband characteristics was implemented using a stepped-impedance lowpass filter(LPF) and a composite quarter-wave short stubs where the LPF is functioning as attenuating the upper stopband and quarter-wave short stubs is functioning as attenuating the lower stopband. The measured results are as follows; the insertion loss is 0.65 dB at 30 GHz, the stopband characteristics are -10 dB and -16 dB at 10 GHz and 50 GHz, respectively, and the passband flatness is ${\pm}0.5$ dB at 20~40 GHz.

  • Purpose: While the amylase concentration of the drainage fluid (dAmy) has been reported to be a predictor of postoperative pancreas-related complications (PPRC), the optimal timing for its measurement has not been fully investigated. Materials and Methods: The clinicopathological data of 387 patients who underwent elective gastrectomy for gastric cancer were reviewed. Laboratory data, including dAmy on postoperative days 1 (dAmy1) and 3 (dAmy3), and serum C-reactive protein (sCRP) concentrations on postoperative days 1 (sCRP1) and 3 (sCRP3) were compared between patients with PPRC and without PPRC. Results: Nineteen of the 387 patients (4.9%) developed PPRC. The optimal cutoff values of dAmy1, dAmy3, sCRP1, and sCRP3 were 1514 IU/L, 761 IU/L, 8.32 mg/dL, and 15.15 mg/dL, respectively. The area under the curve of dAmy1 was greater than that of dAmy3 (0.915 vs. 0.826), and that of sCRP3 was greater than that of sCRP1 (0.820 vs. 0.659). In the multivariate analysis, dAmy1 (P<0.001) and sCRP3 (P=0.004) were significant predictors of PPRC, while dAmy3 (P=0.069) and sCRP1 (P=0.831) were not. Thirteen (41.9%) of 31 patients with both dAmy1 ≥1,545 IU/L and sCRP3 ≥15.15 mg/dL had PPRC ≥Clavien-Dindo II. In contrast, among 260 patients with both dAmy1 <1,545 IU/L and sCRP3 <15.15 mg/dL, none developed PPRC. Conclusions: dAmy1 was more useful than dAmy3 in predicting PPRC. The combination of dAmy1 and sCRP3 may be a useful criterion for the removal of drains on postoperative day 3.

  • Let D be an integral domain and S a multiplicative subset of D. An ascending chain (Ik)k∈ℕ of ideals of D is said to be S-stationary if there exist a positive integer n and an s ∈ S such that for each k ≥ n, sIk ⊆ In. As a generalization of domains satisfying ACCP (resp., ACC on ∗-ideals) we define D to satisfy S-ACCP (resp., S-ACC on ∗-ideals) if every ascending chain of principal ideals (resp., ∗-ideals) of D is S-stationary. One of main results of this paper is the Hilbert basis theorem for an integral domain satisfying S-ACCP. Also we investigate the class of such domains D and we generalize some known related results in the literature. Finally some illustrative examples regarding the introduced concepts are given.

  • Let D be an integral domain, S be a multiplicative subset of D such that DS is a PID, and D[X] be the polynomial ring over D. We show that S is an almost splitting set in D if and only if every nonzero prime ideal of D disjoint from S contains a primary element. We use this result to give a simple proof of the known result that D is a UMT-domain and Cl(D[X]) is torsion if and only if each upper to zero in D[X] contains a primary element.
