Partial least square regression (PLSR) was executed on curve data of force-deformation from back extrusion test and sensory data for commercial instant noodles. Sensory attributes considered were hardness (A), springiness (B), roughness (C), adhesiveness to teeth (D), and thickness (E). Eight and two kinds of fried and non-fried instant noodles respectively were used in the tests. Changes in weighted regression coefficients were characterized as three stages: compaction, yielding, and extrusion. Correlation coefficients appeared in the order of E>D>A>B>C, root mean square error of prediction D>C>E>B>A, and relative ability of prediction D>C>E>B>A. Overall, 'D' was the best in the correlation and prediction. 'A' with poor prediction ability but high correlation was considered good when determining the order of magnitude.

Ischemic and traumatic brain injuries are the major acute central nervous system disorders that need to be adequately diagnosed and treated. To find biomarkers for these acute brain injuries, plasma levels of some specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs, i.e., lipoxin A4 [LXA4], resolvin [Rv] E1, RvE2, RvD1 and RvD2), CD59 and interleukin (IL)-6 were measured at 0, 6, 24, 72, and 168 h after global cerebral ischemic (GCI) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) in rats. Plasma LXA4 levels tended to increase at 24 and 72 h after GCI. Plasma RvE1, RvE2, RvD1, and RvD2 levels showed a biphasic response to GCI; a significant decrease at 6 h with a return to the levels of the sham group at 24 h, and again a decrease at 72 h. Plasma CD59 levels increased at 6 and 24 h post-GCI, and returned to basal levels at 72 h post-GCI. For TBI, plasma LXA4 levels tended to decrease, while RvE1, RvE2, RvD1, and RvD2 showed barely significant changes. Plasma IL-6 levels were significantly increased after GCI and TBI, but with different time courses. These results show that plasma LXA4, RvE1, RvE2, RvD1, RvD2, and CD59 levels display differential responses to GCI and TBI, and need to be evaluated for their usefulness as biomarkers.

Cette $the\`{s}e$ approche ce $probl\`{e}me$ $\`{a}$ travers one perception anthropologique do monde, en $\'{e}tudiant$ les arts tridimensionnels avec ses $\'{e}schelles$ qui deviennes plus on plus agrandis. Maurice Merleau-Ponty, dans son livre 'la $ph\'{e}nom\'{e}nologie$ de la perception', bien $r\'{e}sumait$ une $intersubjectivit\'{e}$ entre l' espace et nous. Selon lui, l' homme prend conscience do la forme des objets avec son environnement parce quil est un corps on interaction avec eux. Donc nous $r\'{e}f\'{e}rons$ ce livre pour notre set. Et on essayera ici d' $\'{e}tudier$ le travail do Constantin Brancusi, de Alberto Giacometti, do Richard Serra et do quelques d' autres travaux d' artistes L' oeuvre do Brancusi 'la Colonne sans fin', la taille plus de 29 m, produit one impression sur le spectateur relativement $\grave{a}$ la forme continue et $r\'{e}p\'{e}t\'{e}e$ $\`{a}$ linfini de $mani\'{e}re$ unifome. La sculpture et l' architecture $r\'{e}ciproque$ l' espace tridimensionnel entre eux, mais selon l' argument do Herbert Read pour la distinction de ces deux arts originaux sont, deux saisies de l' espace, ici englobant, $l\`{a}$ $englob\'{e}$. On $\'{e}tudie$ dans co set de concept de l' espace et de l' $\'{e}chelle$ d' objet par rapport au corps humain.

This paper presents a method for real-time 3D Sumi-e rendering us ing normal graphics hardware. Sumi-e is one of the traditional oriental painting styles. Most research on Sumi-e paintings has focused on 2D or :2.5D Sumi-e brushwork simulation. On these systems. complicated user's hand drawing is required to generate the image of Sumi-e effects. and it can render the 2D or 2.5D Sumi-e images only. We present an automated rendering system for 3D image of Sumi-e painting. It uses 3D common object as an input data and does not need any additional input of user brushwork. Especially for the real-time rendering. hardware-accelerated algorithm for Sumi-e rendering is newly suggested in our system. It is designed with efficiency for customer level graphics hard ware. The results of this paper show that the features of traditional Sumi-e painting are successfully modeled and that 3D Sumi-e painting is rendered in real-time effectively.

The glpD genes encoding gly-3-p dehydrogenase is essential for the aerobic growth of E. coli on glycerol or gly-3-p. The glpE gene, the function of which is unknownm is transcribed divergently with respect to glpD gene. Expression of the adjacent but divergently transcribed glpD the glpE genes is positively regulated by the cAMP-CRP complex. In this study, for a precise investigation of the functional elements in the regulatory region for transcription activation by cAMP-CRP, deletion mutation have been introducted into the regulatory region. The effect of the deletion mutant on transcriptional regulation was tested in vivo by $\beta$-galctosidase activity. Deletion mutants in the regulatory region of glpD demonstrated that the presence of the CRP-binding site resulted in an sixfold increase in promoter activity. And also deletion mutants of glpE gene demonstrated that the presence of the CRP-binding site resulted in an eightfold increase in promoter activity. Insertion of 22 bp oligomer in the deletion mutants has shown that the CRP binding site is need for maximal expression of glpD and glpE genes. glpD and glpE gene, cAMP-CRP complex, deletion mutant, transcriptional regulation.

Solution to the diffusion layer for the first order reaction at a droping mercury electrode (D.M.E.) is presented. Equations are derived for polarographic currents for the reactions at the D.M.E. A factor which is applicable to the D.M.E. is derived, when we use the equations of the polarographic currents for the reactions at a plane electrode(P.E.), and the rate constants of the backward reactions are negligibly small. Polarographic currents from a combination of diffusions and reactions are obtained at the D.M.E. with special approximation. Rate constant for the reaction of ferrous ion with hydrogen-peroxide is determined at the D.M.E.,using the data of Kolthoff and Perry. The agreement of the equation with the data of Kolthoff and Perry for the kinetic current of ferric ion in the presence of hydrogen-peroxide is good. Ratios of diffusion layer at the D.M.E. to the diffusion layer at the P.E. are discussed and show that, when the rate constants of the backward reactions for the first order reactions are larger than 1/0.05 sec-1. and drop-time about 3 sec., these ratioes are about one.

Structure-activity relationship studies of allylamine type of antimycotics were carried out to evaluate the effect of naphthyl and methyl portion of naftifine. Compounds with 3,4-difluorophenyl (2a-5a), 4-hydroxyphenyl (2b-5b), 3-nitro­phenyl (2c-5c), 4-chlorobenzothiazoly (2d-5d) and 5-methylfurfural (2e-5e) instead of naphthyl group, and with hydrogen (3a-3e), methyl (4a-4e) and ethyl (5a-5e) in the place of methyl in naftifine were synthesized and tested for their in vitro anti-fungal activities against five different fungi. Fourteen compounds (3a, 4a, 5a, 3b, 4b, 5b, 3c, 4c, 5c, 3d, 4d, 3e, 4e and 5e) showed significant anti-fungal activities against T. mentagrophytes. (E)-N-(3-Phenyl-2-propenyl)-3,4-difluoro-ben­zenemethaneamine(3a), (E)_N_(3_phenyl_2_propenyl)_4_hydroxy_benzenemethaneamine(3b) and (E)-N-ethyl-N-(3-phenyl­2-propenyl)-3-nitro-benzenemethaneamine (5c) displayed moderate anti-fungal activities against all five different fungi.

Improved hypophysectomy technique and the efficacy of bGH in hypophysectomized female rats were studied as a basis for the function of endocrine gland and hormones. 1. With improved sublaryngeal a, pp.oach by hypophysectomy, 34 rats out of 40 were successfully hypophysectomized(more than 80% of success). The surgical time for hypophysectomy per rat was taken about 3.0$\pm$1.0 min. 2. For the effect of hypophysectomy and bGH on body weight gain among the 5 gruops of A, B, C, D, and E, the weight gains for A, B, C, D, and E, were 93g, 9.2g, 10.7g, 25.1g and 36.2g, respectively, which implied that hypophysectomy had a major effect on body weight. And also, the effect of bGH was paralleled with the level of bGH. There were significant difference between control and hypophysectomized groups, and between the bGH treated and bGH non-treated groups after hypophysectomy(p<0.01). 3. For the effect of hypophysectomy and bGH on the length of femur, tibia, humerus, and anterbrachi, longest was for A, shortest for B, and longer in order of C, D, and E. The A group was significantly longer than B, C, D, and E groups. The B group was shorter than C, D, and E groups(p<0.01). 4. For the effect of hypophysectomy and bGH on the weight of femur, tibia, humerus, and antebrachi, heaviest was for A, lightest for B, and heavier in order of C, D, and E. The A group was significantly heavier than B, C, D, and E groups. The B group was lighter than C, D, and E groups(p<0.01). 5. In changes of body length, and weights of liver and heart, A group was most drastically increased. Among the hypophysectomized groups, the change was increased in order of B, C, D, and E. Especially, the change of A group was significantly greater than B, C, D and E gruops. However, no significant differences were found among B, C, D, and E groups. 6. The hypophysectomy in rat had a significant effect on body growth. The effect of hormone was remarkably different depending upon the level of hormone. It was found that 300$\mu\textrm{g}$ of bGH/kg of body wt/day was slightly lower for normal growth.

This research is a experimental study for the machining conditions of E. D. M. They were used Cu electrode and the various amplitude of current waves for the machining by E.D.M. By the analyse the characteristics of current, voltage, roughness of surface and over cut, the next results were obtained. E.D.M. machining time become to be more longer by the increasing the tensile stress. In case of NAK 55 as the composite resin, the machining time was more faster without the relationship for the tensile stress. And if it was more increased the amplitude of Ip, it has been more faster in the machining time and more poor in the surface roughness. But it was increased Ip with 5A, it has been increased 0.3 time in over cut. So, if we want to be the precision machining, the diameter of the electrode should be more smaller than the diameter of machined hole in workpiece with E.D.M.

The growth of digitaria adscendens and eleusine indica, annual weeds common in japan, was experimentally analyzed under varying untrient conditions. compared with e. indica, d. adscendensshowed a higher the two under high nitrogen availability. Higher net assimilation rate(nar) in d. adscendens than e. india was responsible for high RGR in D. adscendens under the low nitrogen availability. The different of NAR in the two species was induced not by leaf nitrogen content but by nitrogen use efficiency. Under unfertilized conditions nitrogen uptake rate(nur) was greater in d. adscendens than e. indica. Specific absorption rate in two species was similar, but root mass was greater in d. adscendens than e. indica.d. adscendens allocated more dry matter to roots than e. india earlier stage of seedlings. The contributed to higher rot mass and in turn resulted in higher nur in d. adscendens than that in e. india. It is concluuded that the larger allocation of dry matter to roots at early seedling stage in d. adscendens plays an important role in obtaining nitrogen for the continuation of growth under low nitrogen availability.
