수중운동체의 실린더 관 내부 이동시 작용력 예측에 대한 실험적 접근 (Experimental Approach for Estimation of Hydrodynamic Force Acting on a Submerged Streamlined Body Translating in a One-end-opened Cylindrical Tube)

  • The main object of this experiment is to estimate the hydrodynamic forces acting on a submerged streamlined body placed in a one-end-opened cylindrical tube moving with certain translational velocity. The best experimental design for this object is mimicking real situation, however sizes of model body and cylinder tube are just the same as those of real, for avoiding scale effects, mimicking real situation is not realizable. Hence, in this experiment, target body and cylindrical tube were designed to be towed with varying body position relative to cylindrical tube. For measuring hydrodynamic forces and flow velocity in the cylindrical tube, six one-component load cells and several one-hole Pitot tubes were used. Several conditions were checked with various end-plates those had different opening areas. Experiment results show that forces and flow velocity had different tendency with those expected, and the presence of a end-plate slows down the flow velocity in the cylindrical tube and affects pressure field in the tube to push the model submerged body forward of the tube. This tendency grows with decreasing opened area.

원통 도체 위에 장착된 역 F 안테나의 방사 패턴 분석 (Analysis of Radiation Patterns of Inverted-F Antenna(IFA) on Cylindrical Conducting Body)

  • 본 논문에서는 위성 발사체와 같은 원통 도체에 UHF 대역의 역 F 안테나가 장착되어 있을 때 방사 패턴을 시뮬레이션하고 분석하였다. 우선 파라미터를 변화시켜가면서 장착될 역 F 안테나 자체의 특성을 분석한 다음, 이 역 F 안테나가 원통 도체에 장착된 경우에 대하여 시뮬레이션하고 분석하였다. 특히 역 F 안테나의 개수, 원통의 길이, 그리고 원통의 직경 변화에 대하여 방사 패턴을 시뮬레이션하고 분석하였다. 다음으로 역 F 안테나를 제작하여 반사 손실을 측정하고 원통 도체에 장착하였을 때 방사 패턴을 측정하였다. 측정 결과와 시뮬레이션 결과는 서로 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

분사홀 형상과 분사각 변화가 터빈블레이드 선단 막냉각 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Various Injection Hole Shapes and Injection Angles on the Characteristics of Turbine Blade Leading Edge Film Cooling)

  • Using a semi-circled blunt body model, the geometrical effects of injection hole on the turbine blade leading edge film cooling are investigated. The film cooling characteristics of two shaped holes (laterally- and streamwise-diffused holes) and three cylindrical holes with different lateral injection angles, 30°, 45°, 60°, respectively, are compared with those of cylindrical hole with no lateral injection angle experimentally and numerically. Kidney vortices, which decrease the adiabatic film cooling effectiveness, appear on downstream of the cylindrical hole with no lateral injection angle. At downstream of the two shaped holes have better film cooling characteristics than the cylindrical one. Instead of kidney vortices, single vortex appears on downstream of injection holes with lateral injection angle. The adiabatic film cooling effectiveness is symmetrically distributed along the lateral direction downstream of the cylindrical hole with no lateral injection angle. But, at downstream of the cylindrical holes with lateral injection angle, the distribution of adiabatic film cooling effectiveness in the lateral direction shows asymmetric nature and high adiabatic film cooling effectiveness regions are more widely distributed than those of the cylindrical hole with no lateral injection angle. As the blowing ratio increases, also, the effects of hole shapes and injection angles increase.

전기적으로 큰 원통 도체 위에 장착된 역 F 안테나의 방사 패턴 분석 (Analysis of Radiation Patterns of Inverted-F Antennas on an Electrically Large Cylindrical Conducting Body)

  • 본 논문에서는 위성 발사체와 같이 전기적으로 큰 원통 도체 위에 전기적으로 작은 역 F 안테나들이 장착된 경우에 대해 방사 패턴을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 먼저 모멘트 법(MOM: Method Of Moment)과 상용 툴(tool)인 HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator)를 이용하여 방사 패턴을 구하고 이의 결과를 실험 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 특히 원통 도체가 전기적으로 큰 경우 안테나 근방의 접지면 일부분만을 고려하여 원통 도체의 크기가 방사 패턴에. 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 다음 역 F 안테나가 원통 도체에 1개, 2개 장착된 경우에 대해 방사패턴을 모멘트 법, HFSS를 이용하여 구하고 고찰하였는데 이의 결과와 실험 결과가 서로 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

헬리컬기어 가진에 의한 원통형 기어박스 모델의 진동음향 특성 (Vibro-acoustic Characteristics of a Cylindrical Shell Type Gearbox Models by Helical Gear Excitation)

  • Helical gear excitation is transmitted to a gearbox through the shafts and bearings and the vibration of the gearbox radiates the noise in the air. Therefore gearbox modeling is essential to evaluate the gear noise. This work deals with vibration and acoustic analysis of a cylindrical shell-type gearbox with/without holes excited by helical gears and focuses on the development of the simple gearbox model. To do so, helical gears and bearing forces are calculated. Gearbox with/without holes is modeled by the aluminum end plates and PMMA cylindrical shell body. The vibration mode and the forced harmonic response were calculated by the commercial FE software and the end plate of the gearbox is more contributed to vibration than the body. Acoustic analysis was also conducted by the commercial acoustic software and a cylindrical shell type gearbox with/without holes has the similar vibro-acoustic characteristics.

  • This paper presents the optimum design of cylindrical shell under external pressure loading. Two kinds of material, Al7075-T6, Ti-6Al-4V, are considered. For each material, the design variable is a thickness of the unstiffened parallel middle body shell, and the state variable, constraint, is hoop stress and the object .function is total weight of the cylindrical shell. Optimization is performed by conventional FE Program, ANSYS. In addition, buckling analysis is performed for the middle body of the cylindrical shell. Finally, we calculates the payload of the cylindrical shell to keep neutral buoyancy with optimized thickness in deep-sea applications.

변형 및 복원공정에 따른 실린더 형상 구조물의 응력분포 특성 (Evaluation of Characteristics for Stress Distribution on Cylindrical Beam Structure by Deformation and Restoration Process)

  • In heavy industrial fields such as power plant and chemical plant, it is often necessary to restore damaged part of large machinery and structure which is installed in the hazard working place. In this paper, to estimate stress distribution which occurs during damage and restoration of cylindrical beam structure, the finite element technique has been used. A finite element model was verified by experiment for non deformed cylindrical beam structure. The displacements and elastic recovery have an excellent agreement between experiment and finite element analysis. The variations of stress distribution on deformation and restoration procedure for surfaces have been examined. The maximum von Mises stress appears in the surface for deformation and restoration procedure. In deformation procedure, the maximum stress occurs in the vicinity of support body. In restoration procedure, the maximum stress occurs in the vicinity of the fixing body. The fixing body allows avoiding stress concentration in adjacent support structure boundary.

178cm 이상의 키 큰 성인남성에 대한 체간부 체형 유형화 연구 (Study on torso body types of adult males over 178cm tall)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the body type characteristics of tall adult men aged 20 to 69 years to present base material on body dimensions for men's clothing companies. The research method comprised statistical analysis of 3D measurements after selecting items from the 8th Korean human body size survey related to the torso body types of 495 adult men who were at least 178cm tall. As a result, six factors were extracted, and the total explanatory variable of the entire factor was shown to be 80.499%. As a result of cluster analysis using this as an independent variable, three types were derived: Type 1, "a normal body type with an oval cross-sectional shape" (37.6%), with a larger vertical size and an oval chest cross-sectional shape compared to other types; Type 2: a "cylindrical thick body shape" (31.1%), which is the first stage of BMI obesity, with narrow shoulders and a cylindrical shape with a round cross-section; Type 3, "a body shape with broad shoulders and developed chest parts" (31.3%), with a horizontal size similar to Type 2 above the waist, but similar to Type 1 below. The results of this study are expected to be used as a basis for a clothing dimension system and clothing development for tall men reflecting the characteristics of the torso.

  • This study concerns a large eddy simulation (LES) of turbulent flow around a bluff body inside a sudden expansion cylindrical chamber, a configuration which resembles a premixed gas turbine combustor The simulation code is constructed by using the general coordinate system based on the physical contravariant velocity components. The Smagorinsky model is employed and the calculated Reynolds number is 5,000 based on the bulk velocity and the diameter of the inlet pipe. The combined grid technique and cylindrical grid are tested in the numerical simulation with complex geometry. The predicted turbulent statistics are evaluated by comparing with LDV measurement data. The numerical flow visualizations depict the behavior of turbulent mixing process behind the flame holder.

Dynamic characteristics between waves and a floating cylindrical body connected to a tension-leg mooring cable placed in a simulated offshore environment

  • Given the rapid progress made in understanding the dynamics of an offshore floating body in an ocean environment, the present study aimed to simulate ocean waves in a small-sized wave flume and to observe the motion of a cylindrical floating body placed in an offshore environment. To generate regular ocean waves in a wave flume, we combined a wave generator and a wave absorber. In addition, to precisely visualise the oscillation of the body, a set of light-emitting diode illuminators and a high-speed charge-coupled device camera were installed in the flume. This study also focuses on the spectral analysis of the movement of the floating body. The wave generator and absorbers worked well to simulate stable regular waves. In addition, the simulated waves agreed well with the plane waves predicted by shallow-water theory. As the period of the oncoming waves changed, the movement of the floating body was substantially different when tethered to a tension-leg mooring cable. In particular, when connected to the tension-leg mooring cable, the natural frequency of the floating body appeared suddenly at 0.391 Hz as the wave period increased.
