In this paper, we propose a cylindrical active phased array antenna of Beam Steering Characteristics in the horizontal plane(H-plane) and vertical plane(E-Plane) on the cylinder form array structure. We design the bent dipole antenna of the cylindrical array structure adapted excellent mutual-coupling characteristics, designed and manufactured the cylindrical array antennas and power combiner/divider unit for power dividing and combining on the antenna. The radiating elements array spacing of Cylindrical array antenna were determined to avoid grating lobes at half power beam steering. Beam steering of the antenna was implemented with 6-bit phase shifter in the transceiver and have been designed based on the characteristics the antenna beam steering at -24 degrees to 24 degrees horizontal, vertical 0 degrees to 36 degrees beam steering. A cylindrical active phased array antenna that produced for verification the performance of the antenna are measured radiation characteristics in accordance with beam steering at L-Band.
In this study, the antenna was proposed for the omni-directional characteristic in horizontal plane. Therefore we proposed $1{\times}4$ microstrip patch array on cylindrical surface for studying microstrip patch antennas. This antenna is designed for 2.45GHz ISM band and applications. This antenna can be applied to the base station of wireless microphone and access point of wireless LAN. The length and width of the patch antenna and the width of the feed line were calculated by using the theory of microstrip patch antenna, by using the both the 2.5D and 3D EM simulators the optimized antenna characteristics are obtained. From result of measured, antenna's impedance of coaxial waveguide port was 51.915-j3.688 ${\Omega}$, the return loss was -31dB and VSWR was 1.081.

In this paper, a cylindrical hybrid antenna which is spatially fed by an off-set linear feed array is described to form complex beam patterns. The linear feed array consists of twelve micro-strip patch elements and forms a flat-topped beam pattern with a beam-width of $90^{\circ}$ in the horizontal plane. The vertical curve on the cylindrical reflector with the linear feed array is shaped in order to form a cosecant beam pattern within the range of $-5^{\circ}$ to $-25^{\circ}$ in the vertical plane. To form complex beam patterns, the hybrid antenna with cylindrical reflector aperture of $140{\times}50\;cm$ was designed and fabricated to be operated within the IMT 2000 service band, and also electrical performances of the antenna were measured and analyzed.

The goal of this paper is to analyze, through simulations and experiments, GNSS interference mitigation performance under various types of antenna structures against wideband and narrowband interferences using spatial-temporal adaptive signal processing (STAP) techniques. The STAP approach, which combines spatial and temporal processing, is a viable means of GNSS array signal processing that enhancing the desired signal quality and providing protection against interference. In this paper, we consider four types of 3D antenna array structure - Uniform Linear Array (ULA), Uniform Rectangular Array (URA), Uniform Circular Array (UCA), and the Single-Ring Cylindrical Array (SRCA) under an interference environment. Analytical evaluation and simulations are performed to investigate the system performance. This is followed by simulation GPS orbits in interfered environment are used to evaluate the STAP performance. Furthermore, experiments using a 2x2 URA hardware simulator data show that with the removal of wideband and narrowband interference through the STAP techniques, the signal tracking performance can be enhanced.

In this paper, an analysis and design method is proposed, which is to improve the directivity of microstrip array antennas conformed to a cylindrical surface. In the case of forming an arc-array in the circumferential direction on a circula-cylinder surface, the circular-cylinder can be approximated to a polygonal-pillar and on each pillar-planes the sub-arrays, Dolph-Tschebyscheff array and uniform array with a beam steered in the desired direction, would make a sharp directivity for the total cylin- drical array antenna. And the radiation pattern according to the type of its sub arrays is analyzed and compared using the cylindrical-cavity codel. A cylindrical microstrip array antenna, with 12 elements and uniform arra as a sub-array which have an equal distance$\lambda_0$/2between the elements, is manufactured and conformed to a cylinder with radius of 6 The measured data of side lobe level, HPBW and FNBW are - 13dB, $9^{\circ}$, and $15{\circ}$, ,respectively. This result shows a good improvement on the directivity comparing with a linear array.

In order to apply cylindrical periodic array to phased array antenna or frequency selective surface, efficient electromagnetic analysis is required. Finite periodic array is applied in real situation. But, generally, assumed that periodic structure is arranged infinitely, approximate electromagnetic characteristics can be obtained efficiently. But, difference of characteristics between real structure and approximate structure occurs because finite periodic array is approximated to infinite periodic array. Therefore, comparison and analysis of cylindrical infinite array and finite array are required. In this paper, cylindrical infinite periodic array are analyzed using cylindrical Floquet harmonics. Also, cylindrical finite periodic array is analyzed using method of moments (MoM) with thin wire approximation because periodic structures which are composed of strip with narrow width are analyzed. Transmission characteristics and surface currents of infinite and finite periodic structures are compared.

For the far field radiation pattern of a microstrip array antenna which is conformed to a cylindrical surface and forms an arc array, an approximate analysis method using FOURIER TRANSFORM is presented. In this method, the conformal array antenna is projected on the effective aperture plane and assumed to be an aperiodic array with nonlinear phase tilt. The effective aperture plane includes four end-points of each arc on the cylindrical surface. When the effective aperture ratio which is normalized to the planar type is from 1.0 to 0.9, it is confirmed that this approximate method is valid. To the array on the effective aperture plane, it is assumed that the phase tilt is due to the distance between aperture plne and curvature surface. Specially, when the radius of arc is more than 5 times to its length, the FOURIER TRANSFORM METHOD could be used with only varying scale factors. The results of calculating by approximate method are good agreement with the results of COORDINATE TRANSFORM METHOD and experimentally measured value in the range of -40dB. And, the difference of half power angle is less than 5 degrees when the effective aperture ratio moer than 0.9.
This paper presents the assessment of input impedance of a sectoral cylindrical cavity-backed slot antenna excited by a probe. This antenna is proposed to be an element of array that can be assembled to be the antenna for UHF TV broadcasting system. The integral equations are derived based on boundary conditions of the proposed structure and are expressed in terms of dyadic Green's functions and unknown currents. The unknown current densities are solved by the Method of Moments and the input impedance is derived subsequently. Numerical results show the variation of input impedance, for the specified dimensions of the antenna, as a function of frequency. This result is validated by measurement and found that the result is sufficiently accurate. The result from this study is useful for the design of a sectoral cylindrical cavity-backed slot antenna excited by a probe.

This paper describes the pattern synthesis method of two kinds of conformal array antenna using the Enhanced Adaptive Genetic Algorithm (EAGA). One is the $1{\times}16$ conformal array antenna on a curved cylindrical metallic surface with quadratic function, and the other is the 18-element conformal arrary antenna on a metallic surface obtained by the rotation of a quadratic function curve around the axis. The active element pattern is utilized in the pattern synthesis. Especially for the case of the rotated-type conformal array antenna the transformed active element pattern obtained from the Euler's angle rotation of the active element pattern of the planar concentric array is utilized, which reduces the synthesis time a lot. To verify the validity of the proposed synthesis method the MATLAB results are compared with the MWS results. Furthermore, for the case of $1{\times}16$ conformal array antenna the measured results are compared with the MATLAB synthesized results.

In the article of instability on the peak power level, duration and repetition period of a multifrequency space-time signal, we calculated the maximum values of the errors of the parameters of the laws of spatial-phase-frequency control. Requirements for the accuracy of the location of the phase centers of the emitters in a cylindrical phased array antenna with pyramidal horns; it is advisable to calculate the radiation field using single-stage and multi-stage distribution laws. The phase centers of individual radiation sources of a cylindrical phased array antenna have been studied; they have almost no effect on the duration and period of recurrence.
