  • The stability of liquid ferrate(VI) produced by an innovative method was confirmed and the degradation characteristics of cyclic compounds(Benzene, Aniline, Toluene, 1,4-Dioxane) by liquid ferrate(VI) were investigated under the same reaction conditions. When it was compared with the ferrate manufactured by the wet oxidation method, the liquid ferrate was more stable. And the stability of liquid ferrate was tested at the storage temperature. As a result, only 17.7% of liquid ferrate(VI) has decomposed at the storage temperature($4^{\circ}C$) for 28 days. Among the cyclic compounds, the aniline was rapidly degraded compare to other cyclic compounds, which seems to be due to the electron-donating ability of the substituent, $-NH_2$ group. Especially, when 1,4-dioxane was compared with benzene, the decomposition rate of 1,4-dioxane was lower than that of benzene, suggesting that oxygen atoms hinder the electrophilic reaction. Among 4 cyclic compounds, it was observed that aniline has the highest rate constant than those of other cyclic compounds.

  • Four new cyclic peroxide compounds (1~4) were isolated from the marine sponge Plakortis simplex. Their structures including relative stereochemistry were determined by MS and NMR analysis. All compounds, a side carbon chain with 10 carbons, were very unstable. After transformation into methyl ester analogues, the structure determination was conducted. Compounds 1a and 2a are stereoisomers, assigned as $3S^*$, $4S^*$, $6R^*$ and $3R^*$, $4S^*$, $6R^*$, respectively. Similarly, compounds 3a and 4a, replaced the methoxy group with an aliphatic methyl, are also stereoisomers. Compounds 1a and 2a exhibited the strong antifungal effect against the fungus Candida albicans.

  • The synthesis of various cyclic carbamate compounds and amino alcohols has attracted attention in the past because of their potential as antibiotics, antitumor, analgenics, anticonvulsants. Several methods for the preparation of cyclic carbamate compounds have previously been reported including the use of heterocumulenes. We have recently described the novel synthetic method for N-protected amines from various ethers using Chlorosulfonyl isocyanate(CSI) and found that the mechanism of our CSI reaction is a competitive reaction of $S_N1$ and $S_ Ni$ mechanisms according to the stability of carbocation intermediates. • Rhodium(II)-catalyzed reactions of cyclic diazo compounds derived from barbituric acid and thiobarbituric acid with a variety of styrene moieties were examined. These reactions provide rapid synthetic routes to the preparations of spirobarbiturates and spirothiobarbiturates bearing cyclopropane rings.

  • A facile, green, efficient and environment-friendly protocol for the synthesis of 14-aryl- or alkyl-14Hdibenzo[a,j]xanthene, 1,8-dioxooctahydroxanthene and 12-aryl-8,9,10,12-tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-one have been developed by one-pot condensation of various aldehydes with (i) ${\beta}$-naphthol (ii) cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and (iii) ${\beta}$-naphthol and cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, in the presence of 1,3,5-trichloro-2,4,6-triazinetrion (trichloroisocyanuric acid, TCCA) as catalyst under solvent-free conditions. The present approach offers the advantages of clean reaction, simple methodology, short reaction time, easy purification, and economic availability of the catalyst.

  • Two derivatives of star shaped compounds based on naphthylamine with symmetric trisubstituted benzene as core, methoxy and ethoxy as end substitutions are synthesized. The synthesized compounds are characterized by UV-visible, FT-IR and NMR spectrometric techniques. The electronic and thermal properties of the compounds are studied using cyclic voltametry (CV) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) respectively. The data's obtained have similarity with the arylamines that have been already used in optoelectronic devices. So these compounds are interesting materials for applications in such devices.

  • We carried out this experiment to observe an electrochemical properties for LB films of alkyl compounds by the cyclic voltammetry. Alkyl bromides was deposited by using the Langmuir- Blodgett method on the ITO glass. We measured to an electrochemical measurement by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system(an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode) in 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 N $NaClO_4$ solution. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350 mV, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV. The scan rate were 100 mV/s. As a result, an electrochemical properties of the LB films of alkyl bromides appeared irreversible process caused by only the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram. The diffusivity(D) effect of LB films decreased with increasing of alkyl compounds amount.

  • Trimethyl-and triphenyl-metal (IVA) methoxides were reacted with phenylisocyanate at various temperatures. Even at 100$^{\circ}C$, methyltrimethylsilyl ether, methyltriphenylsilyl ether and triphenyltin methoxide produced the cyclic dimer of phenylisocyanate, N,N'-diphenyluretidine-2,4-dione. But the other compounds produced only the cyclic trimer of phenylisocyanate, phenylisocyanurate. And above 200$^{\circ}C$, considerable amounts of diphenylcarbodiimide was formed by all the organometallic compounds. From these results, the mechanism of cyclic polymerization of phenylisocyanate by the organometal catalysts, and the correlation of substituents with the reactivity were discussed.
