변형률 에너지법을 이용한 Inconel 617의 저주기피로 수명 예측 (Prediction of Low Cycle Fatigue Life for Inconel 617 using Strain Energy Method)

  • Low cycle fatigue tests are performed on the Inconel 617 that be used for a hot gas casing. The relation between strain energy density and numbers of cycles to failure is examined in order to predict the low cycle fatigue life of Inconel 617. The life predicted by the strain energy method is found to coincide with experimental data and results obtained from the Coffin-Manson method. Also the cyclic behavior of Inconel 617 is characterized by cyclic hardening with increasing number of cycle at room temperature.

프레임 구조물에 대한 선형 내구 보강 기법의 적용 (Application of the Durability Reinforcement Technique on the Frame Structure)

  • In this paper, the technique to reinforce the durability performance of structure using the sensitivity information for the frame structure is applied. The fatigue life calculation for the frame structure is performed from the quasi-static and transient analysis and the characteristics of two methods are compared for the fatigue analysis. Then the reinforcement technique is applied. First, some design variables related to the locations of fatigue failure is selected. Then sensitivities of fatigue life at fracture points with respect to the variation of design variables are calculated and the vector composed of gaps between the target life and initial life cycles is calculated. If the number of fatigue fracture points is same as the number of design variables, the variations of the design variables are calculated from the linear algebraic equation. If not, the variations of the design variables are calculated from the optimization formulation with the constraints.

  • An accelerated fatigue test is essentially required to maintain the reliability of the actual structure of KTX under operation conditions. However, actual fatigue life cannot be obtained if specimens are not adequate to the conventional fatigue test. Moreover component maker did not provide data of loading stress (S) - cycles at the failure (N). In this study, we suggest a prediction method of the S-N curve for establishing an accelerating test under various load levels. Load history was acquired from the field tests. A Rainflow method was used on the cycle counting of the field load data, and then, an S-N curve was obtained through the iteration process under the condition that the damage index satisfies to 1 in the Miner's rule.

  • A steel plate-concrete composite slab with pyramidal shear connectors, named TSC composite slab, is expected to have sufficient bending strength and flexural rigidity for loads during and after construction. Fatigue problems play an important role in designing composite slab as bridge decks under traffic conditions. In this paper, a series of fatigue tests was carried out on TSC beam specimens under various loading conditions, in order to evaluate the fatigue strength of TSC composite slabs. The results are as follows : (1) the fatigue failure of TSC composite beams results from the tensile fracture of bottom steel plate and shear connector, and (2) fatigue strength of the steel plate for two million cycles can be estimated to be $1144kgf/cm^2$ from the S-N curves.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the fatigue behavior of the reinforced concrete beams strengthened with steel plate and CFS(csrbon fiber sheet). In this study, fatigue loads of 60 to 80 percent of the ultimate strength are applied to the specimens. From the results of test the beams strengthened with steel plate show the flexural failure mode, while the specimens strengthened with CFS fail by separation between CFS and concrete surface. In case of the stress level of 70%, strength degradations of the beams with steel plate and CFS in normalized flexural rigidity at 5,000 cycles is 24 and is 24 and 28 percent respectively.

An approach for modelling fracture of shape memory alloy parts

  • Equations describing deformation defects, damage accumulation, and fracture condition have been suggested. Analytical and numerical solutions have been obtained for defects produced by a shear in a fixed direction. Under cyclic loading the number of cycles to failure well fits the empirical Koffin-Manson law. The developed model is expanded to the case of the micro-plastic deformation, which accompanies martensite accommodation in shape memory alloys. Damage of a shape memory specimen has been calculated for two regimes of loading: a constant stress and cyclic variation of temperature across the interval of martensitic transformations, and at a constant temperature corresponding to the pseudoelastic state and cyclic variation of stress. The obtained results are in a good qualitative agreement with available experimental data.

Non-conservative Management of Chylothorax

  • Chylothorax is caused by lymphatic leakage, which can develop after thoracic surgery and is associated with cancer. Although prospective randomized trials have not been performed, radiological interventions have been performed in several cases with persistent chylothorax, adjunct to 2 weeks of conservative management. The success rate of such interventions is diverse due to anatomical variations, although the results are promising. However, in cases of treatment failure after cycles of interventions, a team approach may be necessary to determine whether surgical management is warranted.

  • High and intermittent loading cycles induce fatigue damage to transmission components, resulting in premature gearbox failure. To identify gearbox defects, numerous vibration-based diagnostics techniques, using several artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, have recently been presented. In this paper, an optimized deep belief network (DBN) model for gearbox problem diagnosis was designed based on time-frequency visual pattern identification. To optimize the hyperparameters of the model, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) approach was integrated into the DBN. The proposed model was tested on two gearbox datasets: a wind turbine gearbox and an experimental gearbox. The optimized DBN model demonstrated strong and robust performance in classification accuracy. In addition, the accuracy of the generated datasets was compared using traditional ML and DL algorithms. Furthermore, the proposed model was evaluated on different partitions of the dataset. The results showed that, even with a small amount of sample data, the optimized DBN model achieved high accuracy in diagnosis.

고장력볼트의 인장피로강도에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Tensile Fatigue Strength of the High Strength Bolts)

  • 각국의 강구조물 시공현장에서 사용되고 있는 고장력볼트의 인장강도는 일반적으로 1,000 MPa급이 주종을 이루고 있으나, 고강도강과 극후판의 개발과 교량 지간의 장대화로 인하여 강도가 큰 새로운 볼트 개발이 요구되고 있다. 한편, 반복적인 하중이 작용하는 곳에서 인장연결부에 사용되는 고장력볼트에 인장피로파괴 사례가 발생되고 있으나 아직까지 우리나라에서는 이에 대한 이론 및 실험적인 연구가 없는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 현재 일반적으로 사용하고 있는 F8T, F10T볼트와 새로이 개발된 F13T, F13T-N볼트에 대해서 인장피로실험을 수행하였다. 고장력볼트에 대한 피로강도평가는 반복횟수 200만회에 95% 하한신뢰도분석을 하여 수행하였고, 이를 기초로 3가지의 피로강도 기준안을 제시하였다. 또한, KS나사형상의 볼트와 새로이 제안된 나사선 형상의 볼트에 대한 피로강도에 대해서 비교 검토하였다.
