A study was carried out on 16 indigenous ewes in Bangladesh in order to assess the reproductive physiology, the pattern of vaginal cell exfoliation and progesterone profiles during the estrous cycle period. The mean estrous cycle length and duration of estrus were $15.8{\pm}0.12$ days and $31.1{\pm}0.57$ h respectively. The exfoliated epithelial cells were categorized into parabasal, intermediate, superficial and keratinized and their relative occurrences. The percentages of parabasal, intermediate and superficial cell type during proestrus were similar. The percentage of superficial cell type during estrus was 61.7%, which was significantly (p<0.01) differ from other types of cells and stages of estrus cycle. Metoestrus was predominant with neutrophils in addition with other cell types. Dioestrus was dominated by neutrophils. On days 0 to 5 of the cycle the progesterone concentration was 0.09 to $1.6{\pm}0.07ng/ml$. The length of diestrus was 5~10 days with a range of mean progesterone level of $1.6{\pm}0.07$ to $2.8{\pm}0.11ng/ml$. Progesterone levels increased significantly (p<0.01) after Day 5 and maximum level was $2.8{\pm}0.11ng/ml$ observed on Day 10 of the estrous cycle. Thereafter it dropped rapidly to basal level of $0.11{\pm}0.04ng/ml$ on Day 0 (p<0.01). These results indicate that the pattern of exfoliation of vaginal cells along with progesterone concentration could be used to determine the reproductive stages of indigenous ewe.
This study divided pre-service elementary school teachers' knowledge conversion into four types, socialization, externalization, combination and internalization, based on their inquiry activities on the life cycle of cabbage butterfly. As research subjects, this study collected results from 24 pre-service elementary school teachers who carried out inquires on the life cycle of cabbage butterfly for about 2 months. The type of socialization indicates the conversion of tacit knowledge into tacit knowledge, and this study found out that pre-service elementary school teachers acquired and accumulated tacit knowledge from their fellow pre-service teachers, professors and even acquaintances inside and outside the lab. However, there appeared no process that they shared their tacit knowledge with other pre-service teachers or delivered it to them. The type of externalization indicates the conversion of tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge, and this study discovered some cases that pre-service elementary school teachers expressed their inner tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge. However, there was no case found that they converted the verbally-unexpressed tacit knowledge of their fellow teachers or experts into well-defined explicit knowledge. The type of combination indicates the conversion of explicit knowledge into explicit knowledge, and this study discovered some cases that they collected explicit knowledge and converted it into new explicit knowledge for the acquisition, integration and delivery or distribution of explicit knowledge. However, there were few cases that they creatively devised new explicit knowledge by acquiring new knowledge through direct observation and supplementing the existing explicit knowledge. The type of internalization indicates the conversion of explicit knowledge into tacit knowledge, and this study discovered both explicit knowledge embodied through personal experiences and explicit knowledge embodied through simulations and experiments that formed tacit knowledge in process of examining the existing explicit knowledge.

Stirling engine is a promising heat engine with a high efficiency, muti-fuel capability, low emission, quiet operation, very low maintenance and long life. As one of the promising applications, solar power system based on the Stirling dish, providing net solar-to-electric conversion efficiencies reaching 30%, can operate as stand-alone units in remote locations or can be linked together in groups to provide utility-scale power. This paper introduced a new Scroll-type Stirling engine, being developed for solar power, superior to conventional Stirling engines. The Scroll-type Stirling engine is characterized as traits of continuous and wholly separated compression and expansion; one-way flow system; direct cooling and heating the fluid in the working spaces through the extensive inner surfaces of scroll wraps. All theses traits contribute to achieving thermodynamic cycle closer to the ideal Stirling cycle (exactly speaking, Ericsson cycle).

This study focuses on the development and evaluation of the high efficiency absorption chiller-heater, which can be applied to a direct gas fired, double effect system with 40RT (508,000kJ) cooling capacity. The performance of the absorption chiller-heater is investigated through cycle simulation and experiment to obtain the system characteristics with the inlet tenperature of cooling, chilled water, and gas input flow rate. The efficiency of the different cycles has been studied and the simulation and experiment results show that higher coefficient of performance could be obtained for mixed flow cycle. The five percent difference was obtained from the comparison between experimental and cycle simulation results. As a result of this study, the optimum designs were determined based on the operating conditions and the coefficient of performance.
Heat pump drying has a great potential for energy saving due to its high energy efficiency in comparison to conventional air drying. The heat pump dryer is usually operated at the temperature less than $50^{\circ}C$ and the drying temperature is limited to the operating temperature of the heat pump system. In order to increase the drying temperature, the special box-type heat pump dryer has been developed. The dryer uses the two-cycle heat pump system which has the two heat pump cycles for high and low temperature heating. The high temperature cycle uses the refrigerant 124 to get the temperature greater than $80^{\circ}C$ and the low temperature cycle uses the refrigerant 134a. The drying experiment has been carried out to figure out the performance of the dryer with the selected drying material.
Regulation of cell proliferation is a complex process involving the regulated expression and /or modification of discrete gene products. which control transition between different stages of the cycle. The purpose of this short review is to provide an overview of somatic cell cycle events and their controls. Cycline have appeared as major positive regulators in this network, because their association to the cyclin-dependent kinases(Cdks) allows the subsequent activation on the Cdk/cyclin complexes and their catalatic activity. In mammalian cells, early to mid G1 progression and late G1 progression leading to S phase entry are directed by D-type cyclins-Cdk4, 6 and cyclin E-Cdk 2 both of which can phosphorylate the retinoblastoma protein (pRB). pRB is a transcriptional repressor which, in its unphosphorylated state, binds to members of the E2F transcription factor family and blocks E2F-dependent transcription of genes controlling the G1 to S phase transition an subsequent DNA synthesis. Cyclin A is produced in late G1 and expressed during S and G2 phae, and expression of B-type cyclins is typically maximal during the G2 to M phase transition and it controls the passage through M phase. They primarily associate with the activate Cdk2, and Cdc2, respectively. On the other hand, the Cdk inhibitors negatively control the activity of C아/cyclin complex by coordinating internal and/or external signals and impending proliferation at several key checkpoints. These current and further findings will provide novel approaches to understanding and treating major diseases.
The cycle of the seminiferous epithelium and the development of spermatids of Apodemus agrarius coreae were observed using a light microscope. The cycle of the seminiferous epithelium was divided into 10 stages, and developing spermatids were subdivided into 10 steps. The Golgi phases occurs the first two steps ($St_1,\;St_2$), and the cap phases had the next two consecutive steps ($St_3$ and $St_4$). The acrosomal phases consisted of steps $5{\sim}8$ ($St_5-St_8$), and the remaining two steps consisted the maturation ($St_9$) and spermiation ($St_{10}$) phases, respectively. Type Ad spetmatogonia are appeared in all stages (I-X). Type Ap spermatogonia appeared from stage I and II, In spermatogonia from stage III, IV and V, and B spermatogonia from stages VI. The leptotene spermatocytes appeared from stage VII, zygotene from stages I, II, VIII, IX and X, pachytene from stage III to VIII, diplotene in stage IX, and meiotic figures and secondary spermatocytes in stage X. These data are considered in relation to interspecific differences in sperm morphology.

The effects of thermal cycle condition and applied stress on the intergranular corrosion in austenitic 316 type stainless steels were investigated. Specimens were solution-treated at 1100$^{\circ}C$ for one hour and then sensitized in the temperature range of $500{\sim}800^{\circ}C$ by holding $2{\sim}300s$ with a various applied stresses of $0{\sim}8kg/mm^2$. Degree of sensitization. DOS %, was measured through polarization curve by electrochemical DL-EPR test. Microstructural observations were also conducted DOS % increased with an increase of sensitization temperature and/or holding time. Increase of applied stress resulted in increase of DOS % and more corroded surface because of acceleration of intergranular corrosion and fine grain size due to the stress. Cr depleted zone near grain boundary was observed. The amount of depletion was profounded with an increase of sensitization temperature, holding time and applied stress. $M_{23}C_6$ carbides were precipitated discontinuously at grain boundary. However, its amount was relatively small in the thermal cycle condition of 800$^{\circ}C$, 300sec and 4kg/mm$^2$.
The organic Rankine cycle has been widely used to convert the renewable energy such as the solar energy, the geothermal energy, or the waste energy etc., to the electric power. Some previous studies focused to find what kind of refrigerant would be a best working fluid for the organic Rankine cycle. In this study, R245fa was chosen to the working fluid, and the cycle analysis was conducted for the output power of 30kW or less. In addition, properties (temperature, pressure, entropy, and enthalpy etc.) of the working fluid on the cycle were predicted when the turbine output power was controlled by adjusting the mass flowrate. The configuration of the turbine was a radial-type and the supersonic nozzles were applied as the stator. So, the turbine was operated in partial admission. The turbine efficiency and the optimum velocity ratio were considered in the cycle analysis for the low partial admission rate. The computed results show that the system efficiency is affected by the partial admission rate more than the temperature of the evaporator.
The supercritical $CO_2$ Brayton cycle energy conversion system is presented as a promising alternative to the present Rankine cycle. The principal advantage of the S-$CO_2$ gas is a good efficiency at a modest temperature and a compact size of its components. The S-$CO_2$ Brayton cycle coupled to a SFR also excludes the possibilities of a SWR (Sodium-Water Reaction) which is a major safety-related event, so that the safety of a SFR can be improved. KAERI is conducting a feasibility study for the supercritical carbon dioxide (S-$CO_2$) Brayton cycle power conversion system coupled to KALIMER(Korea Advanced LIquid MEtal Reactor). The purpose of this research is to develop S-$CO_2$ Brayton cycle energy conversion systems and evaluate their performance when they are coupled to advanced nuclear reactor concepts of the type under investigation in the Generation IV Nuclear Energy Systems. This paper contains the research overview of the S-$CO_2$ Brayton cycle coupled to KALIMER-600 as an alternative energy conversion system.
