  • The growth of an information and knowledge based society has changed the base of education from institution-based to a learner-based system. This indicates that the educational purpose and individual characters of the learners are the primary factors for the educational success. In the information and knowledge based society, the Cyber University is a representative example of the new educational paradigm with its online communities, multi-media based education and communication among the learners. The sample of study was 1620 students of a leading cyber university in Seoul, Korea. One of the results in this study showed that satisfaction levels of learning and education do not have significant relationship with age or employment. Rather the lowering level of satisfaction after sufficient adaptation period of cyber education was raised as rising problem.

  • This study it to verify the validity of Korean version of DELES (distance education learning environment survey) and analyze its relationship with learning achievement and distance education satisfaction. The target population of this study is students of K cyber university and a total of 254 cases are used for the analysis. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis is applied to verify 6 factors of DELES and structural equation analysis is applied to examine the relationship between distance education learning environment and learning achievement and distance education satisfaction. The study result shows that DELES is composed of six factors such as instructor support, student interaction & collaboration, personal relevance, authentic learning, active learning and student autonomy and its model fits are appropriate. The result of structural equation analysis shows distance education learning environment significantly influences distance education satisfaction directly as well as indirectly mediated by learning achievement. Learning achievement also significantly influences distance education satisfaction. Conclusions and implications are followed.

  • The purpose of this study is to classify appropriate content types according to the cyber education contents needed for employees of health and welfare and to develop contents based on specific instructional design strategies for each type. We divided the four types of content into instructor-led type contents, storytelling type contents, practice type contents, and case presentation type contents based on previous research and existing health and welfare cyber education contents. For each content type, a macro design strategies and a micro design strategies were derived, and contents were developed in accordance with the design strategies. Data were collected from 150 employees of health and welfare to analyze learning satisfaction. The average of learning satisfaction was 4.42. The results of this study will provide theoretical background and practical implications for the design and development of cyber education contents in health and welfare areas.

  • As the competition of 21 cyber universities in Korea has been on a continual increase, they are focusing on improving the quality of the e-learning education in cyber universities. In this study, we intended to derive the failure factors of the previous chatting system in the 2010s and the success factors from previous studies. Next, we identified priorities among five factors(Reliability, UI Convenience, Usability, Network effect, Operational policy) using AHP and the practical ways to implement the chatting service. We applied the chatting system to all the curriculums of S cyber university. Our study finds that the chat service affects the satisfaction of education. Finally, we propose the utilization plan to improve the e-learning education of cyber university through the findings of this research.

That is to study on the effectiveness of input, process, and output variables for cyber-education and how does student's interaction moderate influencing factors and student satisfaction. The study was carried out through literature and empirical study. Questionnaire was used to varify the hypothesis based on which the input-process-output with system models were established. The result of hypothesis verification in this study is as follows : First, learning hour and grade showed a positive influence on the students' satisfaction in learning factors. Second reliant of professor, recognized teaming participate, and contents showed a positive influence on the students' satisfaction in system factors. Third, an interesting findings emerged throughout the analysis, showed that process variables were rather meaning factor than input variables.

  • The purpose of the present study is to examine the prediction of academic self-efficacy, learning flow, academic stress, and emotional exhaustion on course satisfaction of cyber university students. The total of 536 students registered in a meditation course at W cyber university was participated in the web-based survey in the spring semester of 2011, and finally 331 students completed this survey. The hypothetical model proposed was composed of academic self-efficacy, learning flow, academic stress, emotional exhaustion as the predictor variables, and course satisfaction as the criterion variable. According to the results of this study through multiple regression analysis, academic self-efficacy, learning flow, academic stress, and emotional exhaustion significantly predicted on course satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, effective methods and strategies for constructing cyber educational environments that enable students to improve academic self-efficacy and learning flow as well as reducing academic stress and emotional exhaustion should be considered.
