Difference in Perception of Customer Experience Based on Fashion Lifestyle Using Strategic Experiential Modules (전략적 고객 경험 모듈을 이용한 패션 라이프 스타일에 따른 고객 경험 인식 차이)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify customer experience components using Bernd H. Schmitt's Strategic Experiential Modules and explore the relevance between fashion lifestyle and customer experience components. A survey was conducted on 400 adults between the ages of 20s to 50s who had experience in sportswear stores. The results obtained are as follows. First, according to fashion lifestyle, the respondents were divided into an individuality-valued pragmatic group, a trend-oriented brand-seeking group, a fashion-interested group, and a conservative pragmatic group. Second, customer experience components were divided into sensory experience, emotional experience, cognitive experience, behavioral experience, and relational experience. Third, on analyzing the relationship between customer experience and fashion lifestyle, it was found that a fashion-interested group has the highest value in all experiences; therefore, it can be considered that the higher the interest in fashion, the more important is the customer experience. On the other hand, the conservative pragmatic group represented generally smaller values than the other three groups in all customer experiences. Fourth, there were significant differences in the customer experience components that were considered to be important depending on the fashion lifestyle type. An individuality-valued pragmatic group valued cognitive experiences, a fashion-interested group valued all experiences, and a conservative pragmatic group showed low scores in all customer experiences. The results of this study will allow companies to build more customer-friendly experiences and enable consumers to engage in satisfactory purchasing activities through better customer experiences.

  • The demand of ubiquitous home network system is rapidly increasing in Korea as each construction enterprise makes a huge effort to introduce it to apartment complex. However, the design of home network system is rather technology oriented than the customer focused. Lack of knowledge about customer needs is an obstacle in spreading the ubiquitous home network system to the market regardless of technology development. In this paper, we propose a HCSI(customer satisfaction index for home network system) using an SEM(structural equation model) where structural relationship among several factors influential on users' satisfaction is considered. This model enables to calculate the satisfaction index for target customer group so that one can provide necessary feedback information for improvement of the home network system used for each group.

The Effects of the Project Managers' Competency and Leadership Style on the Performance and the Customer Satisfaction of SI Projects (SI 프로젝트에 있어서 프로젝트 관리자의 역량과 리더십 유형이 프로젝트 성과와 고객만족에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, as business becomes more dependent on information technology for their operations, SI project managers are under increasing pressure to implement SI projects on time and within budget, and to satisfy customer requirements. For the success of SI projects and customer satisfaction, SI project managers should master the critical shills and knowledge requirements and consider the proper leadership style to lead the team members and to manage SI projects. The leadership style includes four categories, such as directive leadership, supportive leadership, participative leadership, and achievement-oriented leadership. This study has examined the project managers' competency and suggests the three competency factors, which are technical, human, and conceptual shills, for the success of SI projects and customer satisfaction. The study suggests that SI project managers should master the three critical skills and knowledge requirements, and consider the proper leadership style for the successful implementation of SI projects. Also SI project managers should consider contingency factors such as project size and duration and outcome variables such as protect performance and customer satisfaction so as to enhance the leadership effectiveness.

Influence of Competitor and Customer Orientation on Marketing Performance through IT Competence in Chinese SMEs

  • Purpose This study examines the roles of firm-level IT competence in the relationship between marketing orientation and marketing performance in the context of Chinese SMEs. To achieve this goal, this study presents and empirically tests a model of how competitor orientation and customer orientation can be exploited to positively influence marketing performance through IT competence. Design/methodology/approach The competitor orientation and customer orientation are based on the market orientation construct developed by Trainor et al. (2011). IT competence re based on the market orientation construct developed by Reitz et al. 2018) and the marketing performance are based on the performance construct developed by Hooley et al., (2005). To complete the investigation, we conducted a survey in China from February 2019 to April 2019. Randomly contacted 150 Chinese SMEs, including SMEs of all sizes and types. To test our hypotheses, partial least squares (PLS) method was employed. Findings The findings indicate that customer orientation is antecedent to IT competence, while competitor orientation has no significant relationship with IT competence. This study provides a better understanding of the connection between IT competence and firm performance. So companies should focus on shaping customer-oriented culture and training IT competence.

A Study on the Customer Satisfaction for Smart Audio's Concept Features through the Kano Model (카노모델(Kano Model)을 이용한 스마트 오디오 컨셉 기능의 고객만족에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze the potential customer's satisfaction for the concepts of smart audio features and utilize the results when developing the customer-oriented products. Methods: 16 different features were derived via the market research and professionals' interviews. The most satisfactory features were selected through "Kano model", the relative importance of Customer Satisfaction Coefficient, and respondents' preferences from 339 valid survey answers. Results: 15 out of the 16 features were categorized as attractive attribute. "'User Recognizing' and 'Strengthen Linking' groups", such as Auto connection with Smart-phone music player, Synchronization of TV & Audio, and Volume control situational awareness, were shown to provide higher satisfactions to those potential customers. On the other hand, Group 'Integrating Function', such as Aromatherapy and Auto lighting reaction, was shown to be relatively least preferred features. Conclusion: This study enabled which features could lead to the customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, it still requires extensive analyses in different countries and diverse cultures to target the global market. The audio product planners and R&D professionals are expected to learn useful information from such studies.

  • The emotional quality of the product have become an important factor in purchasing decision. Classical approach of product design has focused on providing proper functions of the product. However, as the life-cycle of products become shorter and the customer's needs get more diversified, it is now necessary to accommodate the customer's emotional requirement in product design. This study aims to analyze and interpret the emotional characteristics based customer preference survey. This study consisted of two part. First part was to search the optimal combination of design variables through DOE of predetermined 5 design variables. In the second part, we developed customer preference index model to measure the customer preferences about 16 different wood flooring product.

  • The construction industry has also enolved according to the changes and requirements, therefore it coms to manage the relationships with customers. However, the customer management in the construction industry has not been quite genuine, since it has been mainly oriented for public relations and advertisements of companies. The genuine customer management should not only systemize customer data but also provide strategy to utilize it through managing relationships with customers as well as customer themselves. The Effects of Service Quality on Customer's Loyalty in Automotive Parts Distribution Industry (자동차부품 유통기업의 서비스품질이 고객충성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Automotive parts distribution industry focused on increasing sales by product quality until early 2010, but as competition has recently intensified, each company has become interested in core values such as customer satisfaction, trust and loyalty. Therefore, effect of customer-oriented service mindset should be analyzed for the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction, trust, and loyalty in this industry. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted for 342 distributors. Structural equation models were analyzed using AMOS 23.0. Empirical results show service quality has positive effects on customer loyalty, and customer satisfaction and trust mediate between service quality and customer loyalty. The service quality became a key factor to elicit customer satisfaction, trust and loyalty. Following studies, it is expected to enhance service quality focusing on extending region coverages.

Mediating Effect of Customer Orientation and Customer Satisfaction Between Entrepreneurship and Financial Performance: Focusing on the Beauty Service Industry (기업가정신과 재무적 성과 간의 고객지향성, 고객만족의 매개효과: 미용 서비스산업 중심으로)

  • In the service industry the types are diversifying and the scale of service companies is greatly improving. Such a phenomenon is caused by economic growth and technological development diversifying consumer needs creating demand for new services maturing the service industry and intensifying competition among companies in the form of global competition. It can be said that this is because it is necessary to improve competitiveness by utilizing the economy of scale. Research is needed on the impact of entrepreneurship on various outcome variables in order for service organization managers to respond quickly to diverse and rapidly changing environments and achieve organizational outcomes and corporate goals of management outcomes. The purpose of this study was to empirically analyze the relationship in which the entrepreneurial spirit of a manager influences the relationship between customer orientation, which is an organizational result, customer satisfaction, and financial result, which is a management result. In order to verify such research, the questionnaire was composed of one business owner questionnaire, two employee questionnaires, and two customer questionnaires. The questionnaire was distributed to a total of 400 companies, and the questionnaires of 340 companies were collected. Of these, 303 companies, excluding the questionnaires of 37 companies with many dishonest or missing values, were used for hypothesis testing. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, entrepreneurship had a positive (+) effect on customer orientation, supporting the hypothesis. Second, customer orientation showed a positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction, supporting the hypothesis. Third, customer satisfaction showed a positive (+) effect on financial outcomes, supporting the hypothesis. Fourth, it was found that entrepreneurship influences customer satisfaction through customer orientation, and customer satisfaction affects financial outcomes. It turns out that customer orientation between entrepreneurship and customer satisfaction is completely mediated, and customer satisfaction is completely mediated by customer orientation and financial outcomes. The relationship between entrepreneurship and management improved employee behavior and attitudes, which is an individual outcome, and this change was found to improve customer satisfaction, which is an organizational outcome. It makes frequent contact with customers in the process of servicing them. Employee roles are important at service contacts and influence service purchases. Employees facing customers through service contacts act as a decisive factor in maintaining a continuous relationship with customers. Within a beauty service company, it is necessary to create a customer-oriented environment among workers. It suggests that customer-oriented companies and employees can anticipate their desires and provide products or services of superior value to achieve greater customer satisfaction and a competitive advantage. In addition, it was clarified that customer satisfaction has an aspect relationship with financial management, which is a management result. Therefore, it is suggested that the entrepreneurial spirit is an important factor for the management of a beauty service company to secure competitiveness and improve results.

A Study of Market Segmentation of Optical Shop Based on Customer's Values (고객의 가치관에 따른 안경원의 시장세분화에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: We analyse characteristics of optical shop customer's segmented market by using clustering analysis, and we expect it would be a useful indicator of marketing strategy for optical shops. Methods: Survey was conducted from March 10 to March 31, 2015. The survey asked customers who have visited optical shops in Seoul and Northern Gyeonggi-do regions, and analyzed by utilizing SPSS v.10.0 statistical package program. The analysing methods are frequency analysis, factor analysis about variable of values, clustering analysis for market segmentation, and crosstabs. Results: The market is segmented based on values. In the process of establishing marketing strategy, it is useful to establish strategy by classifying customers into 3 types of cluster; "middle level value oriented cluster", "high level value oriented cluster", "high level value oriented and non-religious cluster". In marketing strategy of progressive lenses, it turned out that the most important strategy is to target self-employed person in "middle level value oriented cluster". Conclusions: As a result of market segmentation by using clustering analysis, it was classified into 3 types of cluster, and we found that most important customer for progressive lenses is self-employed person in "middle level value oriented cluster" who is more than 41 years old.
