공동기술개발 프로젝트의 성패요인: 우리나라 전자부품 중소기업 분석 (Key Success Factors for Collaborative Technology Development Projects: The Case of Small & Medium Firms in the Korean Electronics Parts Industry)

  • This study empirically examined different patterns of collaborative R&D project with their key success factors(KSFs), using data from 82 projects in the Korean electronic parts industry. The patterns of R&D collaboration were categorized into 4 types by two criteria development motive(technology Push/market pull) and Project initiator (focal firm/partner). The bivariate relationships revealed that project characteristics (technological complexity, market uncertainty), management characteristics (participation in project formulation), problem solving characteristics(problem solving performance of the focal firm, users active role in problem solving, active role of university or research institute in problem solving) and success rates appear to be different among four types of collaboration. Each type of collaborative R&D projects also had different KSFs. The KSFs of type 1 (technology Push and focal firm initiation), for instance, include the strategic importance of the project, focal firms share of cost, active role of university or research institute in problem solving, while those of type 4(market pull and customer initiation) cover reliability of partner relationship, a time at partners involvement, information sharing. The findings suggest that the different contingencies brought different patterns and KSFs of collaborative R&D project, since different information, resources, and partners roles were needed to successfully implement the projects according to development motive and project initiator Finally, managerial, policy, and theoretical implications for the collaborative R&D activities in the Korean electronics parts industry were discussed, based on empirical results of this study.

Social Media Marketing and Business Performance of MSMEs During the COVID-19 Pandemic

  • This study aims to examine the role of social media marketing on the performance of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research method uses a quantitative approach and the analytical tool used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and the sample in this study was MSMEs who use social media for marketing. The social media used are Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp. The number of samples in this study was 254 MSMEs. Data collection used online questionnaires. The research findings show that the use of social media marketing is influenced by compatibility, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease-of-use. The results of this study indicate that the use of social media for marketing has a positive effect on the performance of MSMEs, especially in increasing sales, customer relationships, productivity, and creativity. This means that the better the management of social media for marketing, the better the performance of MSMEs will be. The theoretical contribution to this research is built on the TAM and UTAUT theories and their impact on social media marketing on MSMEs in developing countries that are living through the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the medical ecosystem in the post-corona era. In addition, this study introduces a new medical CRM model that allows primary-level hospitals to overcome the economic difficulties and to occupy a competitive advantage in the post-corona era. The medical environment in the post-corona era is expected to be changed by non-face-to-face treatment, reinforcement of public medical care, the transformation of a medical system centered on the primary-level hospitals, and the use of AI and big data technologies. The medical CRM model presented in this study emphasizes the establishment of mutual customer relationships through close information exchange between patients, primary-level hospital, and the government. In the post-corona era, primary-level hospitals should not simply be approached as private hospital pursuing profitability. These should be reestablished as the hospitals that can provide public health care services while ensuring stable profitability.

The Determinants of Potential Failure of Islamic Peer-to-Peer Lending: Perceptions of Stakeholders in Indonesia

  • This study identifies the determinants of potential failure of Islamic Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending in Indonesia, and the mediating effect of Islamic ethics on reducing the potential for failure of Islamic P2P lending. This study uses primary data retrieved through questionnaires from the perspective of 152 stakeholders in Islamic P2P lending. Using a structural equation model (SEM), the study found that indebtedness, financing size, and governance have positive and significant relationships with the potential failure of Islamic P2P lending. This study provides evidence that the customer's internal conditions and the governance structure applied can increase the potential failure of Islamic P2P lending. Further, Islamic ethics is evidently able to partially reduce the potential failure of Islamic P2P lending by lessening risk management exposure, but it fails to address failure through Ponzi scheme exposure. As an implication, this study suggest that Islamic P2P lending must implement Islamic ethics more comprehensively by optimizing the advisory and supervisory role of the shariah board within their overall boards of directors also in their operational activities. Finally, it also adds to the existing knowledge on financial technology literature, particularly on the determinants of potential failure of financial technology from the perspective of stakeholders.

Qualitative Study: The Development of Music Business Distribution Channels to Attract Potential Customers

  • Purpose: This research explores the development of music business distribution channels to attract potential customers based on the current and prior literature. As a result, the research will provide solutions for practitioners in the music distribution channel how they create effective channel in new industry phase which has experienced significant changes due to technological advancement and consumer behavior. Research design, data, and methodology: To obtain textual data in the literature storage, the author conducted content analysis. Even though there are numerous textual resources, selecting only high-quality text data that is only peer-reviewed journal articles and books consistently indicate a high degree of reliability and validity to keep the advantage form content analysis approach. Results: The present study figured out that there are five strategies to attract potential consumers in the music distribution channel, such as (1) 'Marketing Mix', (2) 'Streaming Platforms and Online Music Stores', (3) 'Brick and Mortar Stores and Concerts, and Events', (4) 'Platforms Exclusives and Limited-Edition Merchandise', and 'Partnerships and collaborations. Conclusions: In sum, the practitioners need to consider include building relationships with the fans, studying and understanding their target market, utilizing multiple available distribution channels, embracing new technologies, and analyzing the effectiveness of the adopted distribution channels.

Factors Reducing Credit Card's Perceived Risk in Retail Payment: An Approach to Consumer Traits

  • Purpose: The study is focused on understanding consumer behaviour related to credit card use in retail payment or identifying factors that influence risk perception. Research design, data and methodology: Based on data collecting from structured self-administered questionnaires of 247 Vietnamese bank account payers, this study uses the Cronbach alpha analysis, the factor analyses, the structural equation modeling to assess the research's measurement model and structural model with the presence of knowledge, propensity to trust, self-efficacy, risk perception, intended use and their complex, intertwined relationships. Results: The results reveal that customer's perceived risk, which is affected by their self-efficacy and propensity to trust, negatively impact on their intended use of credit cards in retail payment. However, there is no evidence of the significant influence of consumer knowledge on how they assess potential losses of credit card. Conclusions: These findings provide a better understanding of consumer risk perception, its antecedents and consequence in a direction of credit card adoption. Bank managers or marketers should focus on increasing the information about credit cards and issues related to credit card use in retail payment, promoting mechanisms to encourage customers to participate in the credit card experience.

The Impact of Healthy-pleasure Product Choice Attribute Importance on Buyer Attitudes and Purchase Behavior: a Focus on ow-calorie Foods

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate consumer attitudes towards healthy foods, focusing on low-calorie options, and their impact on purchasing behavior. Methods: The study utilizes structural equation modeling, which incorporates statistical tools such as SPSS and AMOS for thorough analysis. This involves collecting data over a period of time and then inferring patterns and relationships through correlation and trend analysis. Results: The study found that attributes such as quality, price, functional value, and emotional value have a significant impact on customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions, but not on nutrition and brand. The study provides a comprehensive understanding of the factors that influence consumer attitudes and purchase behavior toward healthy indulgences in the context of low-calorie foods, and has important implications for both academic research and practical marketing strategies. Conclusions and Implications: This study provides new insights into consumer behavior theory by validating the impact of the perceived value of low-calorie products on attitudes and purchase behavior, which is of great academic value. It is also expected to provide useful information for the formulation of effective marketing strategies for low-calorie products and the development of products that meet consumer needs.

전자거래기업에서의 온-라인 조직구조 설계방안에 관한 연구 (An Exploratory Investigation of On-line Organizational Structure Design for the E-Commerce Firm)

  • 본 연구는 기업의 전자거래 활용유형을 조직관리 관점에서 이해하는 것이고 서로 다른 유형의 전자거래 활동이 정보시스템 및 네트워크 중심의 조직설계 도메인(domain) 구조에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 이해하고 전자거래 유형별 조직관리의 차이존재 여부를 검증한다. 본 연구모델은 기업의 전자거래 활동유형을 세 가지 즉, 구매측면, 내부, 그리고 판매측면으로 구분하여 조직관리 특성요인들 즉, 분권화, 공식화, 전문화, 통합화와의 구성개념들로 구성되었으며 다중회귀분석에 의한 탐색을 위해 58개 업체들로 받은 설문을 활용하였다. 본 연구를 통해 밝혀진 전자거래 유형별 조직의 특성과 역량을 올바르게 이해하고 온-라인 관점에서 업무프로세스 통합의 기본요소들인 조직구성원의 권한부여와 역할의 구성과 같은 조직설계 및 관리 요인에 대하여 방향설정을 제시할 수 있다는 점에서 본 연구가 시사하는 바가 있다고 본다.

외식업 경영주의 직업만족도 및 경영의식 조사연구 - 경남지 역을 중심으로 - (Job Satisfaction and Business Attitude of Restaurant Owners - Focused Mainly in the Gyeone-nam Area -)

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the job satisfaction and business attitudes of restaurant owners in order to explore solutions for improving restaurant management. The results were as follows : 1) The motive for starting a restaurant business was vocational aptitude \longrightarrow possibilities \longrightarrow good income : 2) In terms of job satisfaction, most respondents were satisfied with both the work itself and the income. It was also observed that the younger owners were more satisfied with their jobs than the older owners : 3) Increased costs, including labor and food costs, was indicated as the biggest problem in restaurant management. Respondents also perceived labor shortage as one of the most difficult problems. Men were more likely than women to consider the following problems as being more serious: rent, financial problems, taxes, regulation restrictions, menu development and customer complaints. It was found that as the size of the restaurants grew, the respondents perceived the shortage of labor as the hardest part of running a business : 4) Respondents agreed that employing good foodservice workers was the most important part of foodservice management. Owners also believed that they needed more research time for menu and service development 5) To be successful, the restaurant owners paid the most careful attention to food taste. Service, sanitation, and menu development were also emphasized. Respondents stressed the focus on service, good relationships, diligence, and faithfulness in order to be a good restaurant owner. The results of this research suggest that restaurant owners should have more professional conscientiousness to succeed in their own businesses, as well as improve the quality of the foodservice industry. Other important aspects related to the overall improved quality of the foodservice industry are: the continuation of government support, the enlargement of educational opportunities and greater respect for foodservice employees. 합병한 국내 제조기업들의 특징에 관한 실증적 연구 : 환경적 요인과 기업성과를 중심으로 (An Empirical Analysis of the Characteristics of Acquiring Manufacturing Firms in Korea : The Focus on Environmental Factors and Firm Performance)

  • The M&A of firms has been emerged as the effective means of fast diversification and growth in dynamic environment. However, the empirical research about M&A in Korea has not been implemented rich due to the difficulty of obtaining M&A data. In this research, we empirically investigate the relationships among M&A, environment and firms' performance focused on Korean manufacturing firms, understanding the current practice of M&A in Korea. We use the Manufacturing Productivity Panel Survey Data, which are collected by Korea Productivity Center in 2013. The sample size is 575 and the sample is divided into M&A group and non-M&A group. We conduct logit analysis with the independent variables of environment factors (munificence, dynamic, uncertainty), and firms' performance (sales growth, ROS, labor productivity and Inventory turnover), and dependent variable of M&A group or non M&A group. The results show that M&A is closely related to environment feature and firm performance: M&A firms are likely to be the higher munificence and dynamic and the lower sales growth and higher profitability than non-M&A group. In addition, we also examine the characteristics of firms by M&A types (competitors, customer/supplier and firms from unrelated industry). These results imply that if firms confront the pressure of uncertainty (dynamic) and the lower growth, they tend to choose M&A. Futhermore, to profoundly understand the behavior of firms about M&A, it is required to classify the M&A firms by merge types.
